  1. We are here in the states.. and even have the green card already..

Long story short wife was pregnant during medical exam, didn't get an x-ray

They gave us a sheet that says:

Pregnant x-ray requirement waived at applicant's request. Applicant advised to obtain tuberculin skin test and necessary followup at local health department after arrival in U.S.

The question: If we follow up, where do we send the results? Is this a requirement?

  2. It is like that at many consulates, where they will not let the USC in for the interview.

It was okay.. I understand not letting me into the interview or even the consular section but I thought they would let me go in and sit outside in the general waiting area they have.. Not allowing me into the embassy at all was really discouraging to both me and my wife; maybe more to her because she is 9 months pregnant and carrying everything was difficult. BUT, we got it and I am happy regardless. I was just really hot!

  3. I paid a $355 application fee when filing the I-130 in Bangkok, is this fee the same as the one listed in package 3?

I cannot find the receipt they gave me at the US embassy, and am worried I will have to pay twice.. Can anyone help? I remember giving the receipt to the USCIS office after I made payment but I don't recall getting one myself.

you will pay $400 ($355 + $45) for a visa fee... $131 is non-immigrant visa fee and not applicable to you..

Your profile says K-1... K-1 is NOT DCF... If you do not have or give accurate information you might get inaccurate answers...

Okay gotcha, I am worried about not having the receipt in hand. D

And let me just update that now, didn't realize that my profile information was outdated.

  4. Thanks for the replies. I am thinking that either is fine, since they have both on file already per the DS230 part I and before that the I-130. I am not so sure they are going to be worrying about the requirements for DCF at the embassy since I have met those already and filed sometime ago, but its a good point. I think they will be more worried about my domicile and my wife's residence so I think I should put the address in the United States. Now hopefully the interview goes smoothly.

  5. I've never not filed taxes... I try to stay friends with the IRS

"making sure you take care of your responsibilities as a citizen" I may sound ignorant but what does this mean exactly? Like pay taxes?

Based on last year's taxes I am going to cut it close because I quit three months into the year and was without work for a few months and then I decided to come here ... However my assets should give me some working room....

The previous 2 years tax statements meet the requirements no problem..

Just to make sure I will also have two cosponsors who meet the requirements by well over the 125% rule.. This will help if I have trouble based on last year, right?

  6. Ok this probably should be moved to the K3 forum then because that seems to be my best route..

US Domicile? I need to know more about this...

I am temporarily residing in Thailand... If I didn't have residence in the US why am trying to take my wife there? I don't understand this issue...

I have live and active bank accounts, a 401k, medical insurance, recent medical bills, a residence, a car ext all in the US... Isn't this proof that I intend to return and that I have US Domicile?

I just work off support people give me for my humanitarian efforts and volunteer work.. I am not officially "employed" but work voluntarily for a non prof... I can have a letter written and notarized on my behalf by them if need be..

    Is this enough?

  7. Wow so I've bought books, seachred the depths of the web, visited some of these legal places (SIAM LEGAL), and am still wondering about a few things concerning the K1.

    Here is my situation:

Traditional Thai wedding, didn't register the marriage ext..

I live in Thailand (Chiang Mai) on a Non -Imm O ME visa, (another expired one from last year in my old expired passport)

I don't have a work permit. I volunteer for a nonprofit in the US.

I want to bring my "wife" or fiance in the eyes of the law to the US..

In April we will have a baby.. so I am not leaving Thailand anytime soon..

My question is, if I live here can I apply for Direct Consular filing in Chiang Mai or Bangkok?

If I can't, where and how do I send the I29 file? How will I receive notifications from the US government if I am in Thailand?

I just worry about the fact that I am in Thailand and that might slow everything down.. My parents in the US are helping with a lot of things, so do I just use their address? My house is in Georgia, they live in Texas...

Any help would be great.. I want to start this ASAP..

I just need to hear your experiences and best tactics, especially from those that did all this from Thailand.

    Thanks...
