  1. Hey everybody, and happy (soon to be) new year.

Well as of today my fiance got her Visa in the mail! If any of you remember, I posted on this thread about the 221g she got at her interview on the 11th of December. So we sent all the documents showing our wedding planning and there was no second interview, they just sent her passport and the k1 ! I am so excited, I'm still kind of in shock!

  2. Star Dragon, thats interesting that Casablanca gives the 221g to everyone! I'm thinking the policy at the Mumbai consulate has changed recently because of the fact that no on who interviewed on the 11th got approval, I think they were all (3 or 4 people) given 221g.

I'm just wondering if all this is because they suspect something is very wrong with our case or if its just part of the process and everything will go smoothly after we provide the required documents about future wedding plans.

    What did your 221g request?

  3. Thanks everybody, I thought I missed something but we were totally caught off guard. I never saw anything about showing proof of future plans. I will comply with the list and hopefully get it all out within about a week. I guess I'll make a reservation for a wedding hall sometime in February.

My fiance, who is an event planner, actually tried to explain to the officer that she would plan the wedding herself after coming to the United States. She explained that she would find a good location and help with all the preparations. The officer asked her, "How do I know you will actually get married to him after getting into the USA? Why if you just decide not to marry him, I need proof". He also asked about her parents and sister's Visa, because he expected that they would attend the marriage in the USA. My fiance explained that after she got her visa , they would get theres (for visiting) and try to make the wedding and/or the reception.

I'm also thinking this might have to do with the recent attacks in Mumbai and increased security.

  4. Hi everybody, I havn't been on this thread for a while but heres some bad news:

My fiance just had her interview yesterday and she got the 221(g) form. A box on the form was checked stating that additional evidence is required. Apparently they want proof of our future plans regarding marriage in the United States. They listed several things such as a receipt of a wedding hall, a list of invited guests (address and phone numbers), receipts of wedding clothes, receipt of wedding food, and a receipt of court marriage appointment. They told her to submit these documents to the VFS ASAP and thats about it.

They barely spent any time on the evidence of past relationship (photos, phone records, plane tickets etc.). They were primarily asking questions about the future. The officer also asked why the pictures mostly only had my fiance and I in them, and not both of our families even though there was a picture of us with my mother and her aunt.

I am concerned about whats going to happen, has anyone here gone through a similar experience? Does this mean our case was denied?

By the way I'm 24 and shes 25, we have never been married and we don't have any children.

My fiance also mentioned that there were 3 or 4 other girls there who had interviews on the same day (one had her fiance waiting in the lobby who came all the way from LA) and they all got denials with similar information requested.

Any help or information would be greatly appreciated.

  6. Congrats again and again to everybody! We're almost there now!

But I had a few questions for you:

How much salary do you need for the I134? Also does the online status indicate if the application has gone to the NVC?

And about the supporting evidence, I submitted all the pics I have of us together with the I-129 (like 7 pictures), I don't have anymore, is it okay? For phone records I call mostly using a VOIP program to call her cell and landline. I can print records of this and submit it, thats what I did for the I-129, do you think they will consider it as evidence?

    Thanks a lot everybody!

  7. Congrats to all the recent NOA2-ers and good luck to all those who are waiting! You will get yours soon!

I've heard that your fiance can send in documents before getting Packet 3 but the Indian Consulate website says to bring all the documents to the Interview, not send it to the consulate before the interview. I think all that is returned from Packet 3 is a signed form stating that you have all the documents required. Am I missing something?

Above is the email I got.

Is that what you approved K1's got? I know this seems paranoid but I just want to make sure I got the approval that I *THINK* I did.

Also for I134, what kind of financial supporting info did you send? Bank statement, tax records, pay stubs...?

  9. Hello everybody, I'm a long time reader of this forum but I just registered today.

I got my NOA1 (CSC received date) on 5/8/08 so I'm in the same boat as most of you. So far, I've only got a touch on 5/18/08 and nothing else. I'm getting a little anxious now since other May filers are getting their NOA2s, do you think something could have gone wrong this far into the process (RFE)? The only thing that worries me is that the info I put down for my fiance's job is no longer valid since she now works for herself (business). Could that affect the whole process?

By the way, I have hired a lawyer to generate the forms etc.

    Thanks for anybody who replies!

    -Amit
