Again a K-1 is a marriage visa, not a work visa. Most POE dont issue the stamp because it is NOT needed to get SSN.

JFK is a well used airport so i was hoping that there would be some feedback on this.

Just looked at the i-9 again.

Maybe i'm reading it wrong but if you get a US driving license and SSN then you can complete i-9 by forfilling list B1 and C1?? K1 visa hold can i believe get both.

A NON-Immigrant SSN will have the notation "Valid with DHS auth only" this is an indication to the employer to request to see an EAD or Green-card.

U.S. Social Security card issued by the Social Security Administration (other than a card stating it is not valid for employment)

So back to the same question.

Has anyone managed to get an EAD at JFK recently.... i.e within the last three to four months?

apparently there is now a 60 day reprieve on the implementation on new I-9 documentation rules as posted yesterday on the USCIS website

I have a job to go to and will be flying over very soon they are happy to start me on the temp 30day ead pending the year one...

I have been told/read so many things ... yes JFK still do, a bit hit and miss but tend to if you ask, and now that they don't GRRRRR

1) that is what it your question is about and

2) it probably is the best place to get the answer

3) it has nothing to do with AOS

For a K-1 the I-94 expires at 90 days... the stamp (which is is placed on the I-94) expires in concert with that document. My wife got the JFK stamp, so I been there.

You can work once your I-765 is approved (which is filed with the AOS application) and you get the EAD card, this typically is about 90 days to approval. Much shorter than the GC.

I've now been told that EAD's will not be stamped at JFK..... I called the customs unit at JFK and was told tht they haven't stapmed EAD's for a year now... which cant be true because people have indicated that they have recieved EAD's recently many without asking (on this forum).....

The I-9 proves that you are legally able to work.. one of the ways to prove that is to have a valid (in date) ead. Temp EADs (90 days) are/were being issued at JFK

I think you will find that the DL will be a challenge in most every state nowadays since most states require evidence of authorized stay of one year and the SSN will come with a wonderful notation... "NOT FOR WORK WITHOUT DHS AUTHORIZATION"

sorry not sure where 'securitization ' can from.... having a bad do on the keyboard

I agree that cases may differ slightly due to securitization etc but fail to see how this can equate to several months without reason. My observation is not from my case but more so from looking at the vast differences in processing times listed by individuals on this website.

Going by the visa journey web site I am expecting or should I say hoping for my noa2 in early December. I guess that I, like many others find the process far from the most romantic start to ones married life!

I fully agree that visas should not just be given away but seriously six months or more for a K1!

To me application should be dealt with in accordance with the filed NOA1 date and that is I guess how it is supposed to happen. Granted that any case with a problem will take longer but the individuals should be notified accordingly and there are some but not many reasons for faster filing times.

So my question is why is there such large differences in NOA2 dates some lucky people have them back for September noa1 dates with no fast filing WHY any ideas?

Ok. but what about the guide for k1 on visajourney.com .... last week it was 29th of june now it's showing 21st can someone explain how that can be?
