  1. Hello VJ friends,

7/22/2010: USCIS CSC received my I-130 package (2" thick)

    7/30/2010: $355 check cashed

    8/14/2010: still no NOA1 & I start getting nervous

Have anyone waited such a long time before getting NOA1?

    Thanks.

    Peter

Assume that you sent your package to CSC, check at back of your cashed check to see any line begin with WACxxxxxxxx. That is your NOA1 account in USCIS, use this number to check your status in uscis.gov.

Be patient and good luck to you !!!

  2. UPDATE:

She received her visa after waiting until nearly 5 pm. They had a sort of "last call" for those with pink slips, and they took it and rummaged around and produced a visa.

I know your feeling. We had the same situation last month when waiting for 3 weeks for visa issuance.

  3. Hi friends,

We are going to turn in our evidence and timeline on the 4th of September. My questions are: (please answer them in order :star: )

    1. Do you have to pay any LEGIT fees? (anyone bribe?)

    2. How to request to see a CO?

III. Should I or my wife go turn in the documents?

    4. How was the experience at the window where you turn in the doc?

    5. How much did you turn in? Everything you have?

    6. Do we tell them that we're waiting ourside for their decision?

    7. If my wife was to turn it in, who would she talk to about my attendance?

These are just some questions that I have so far to prepare our trip to the Consulate. Wish us luck and thank you so much my brothers and sisters who help us out so far.

Good luck to you, Huong and Phung

  4. Hello all,

I have been reading countless tails of people at HCMC getting a blue slip requesting either a Chronological Time Line, Proof of ex wife for Sponsor, and List of relatives living in the country of the sponsor. This is a trend that we need to band together to stop. I feel that if everyone that gets a blue slip for one or more of these reasons should contact their us congressman or their senator. I also feel we should all complain to the us consulate as well. When we complain we should all mention the benefit to the system if they were to simply tell us to provide this information. It would A. speed up the process, less blue slips=more interviews B. Less paperwork=less expense and C. Less people wanting to kill the Co's  If enough of us complain about this maybe they will do something. There are thousands of people that do not use Visa Journey, and they have no idea that these things need to be sent in. I was one of those many people. I also know that many of you might be scared of reprisals from the co, so I would not do anything until after your partner is with you. Lets all band together and help get the pink's rolling again!!! Stop the crying and start the celebrating

I agreed with you in this point. However, we should have right drection to move on. In the other hand, it might be difficult for next persons who have to endure the bad results. We asking ourselves that we should have a leader in this matter.

  5. To my VJers:

I received a phone call from my fiancee said that she samples on three continuous days next week for tuberculosis test due to black spot in her lung. The result will be on next 3 months. That news made me shock since my parent and I will come to VN next week for her interview. I don't know what to do now.

Any things I can do to let that kind thing goes over?

  6. The two items they have asked for are very commonly requested at HCM on K-1 visas. They are a must. The list of HER family and friends in the US (Vietnamese people) are for them to assess if you might have been paid to help bring her to the US to be with them.

Give them everything that they asked for in as much detail as you can. If you have a good lawyer he should be able to help you with these things also.

1 out of 5 means 80% failure rate on first interview. That sounds a bit high but more realistic at HCM.

Wow, it is really scare me when our interview is coming up.

  7. Ron,

Whats the status on your guys' interview date?

How long after they turn in the packet 3 do app's from BKK usually hear something?

We are still waiting to hear back from the Embassy. No news yet. They had the Thai New Year (Songkran) which closed the Embassy for 3 business days last week. And we suspect that all the protests in Bangkok may also have distracted them from getting normal business processed even on the days they were open. I hope we'll hear something SOON.

Meanwhile, Thanti had a mishap on her way into work a couple of days ago. She was riding on a motorcycle taxi (quite popular in Bangkok, since they can weave through the traffic congestion more quickly than 4 wheeled vehicles). Apparently a regular taxi came around the intersection and hit the motorcycle. Thanti went flying into the street and got banged up a bit. Thankfully no broken bones or serious injuries. She had some cuts and lacerations on her arm and a lot of bruising. She's in some pain but she's a tough cookie. if you're ever in Bangkok, beware of crazy taxi drivers!

Oh, the other good news in my life.. I finally had a Skype webcam session with my kids last Saturday. I know it's not much but it's the first one I've had since early March. Just like getting our K-1 visa is a journey, maintaining my relationship to my kids is also a journey.

Ooo.. finally done reading everything you all managed to type while I was gone! My fiance is on his way to the US as I type. :( As we have it planned, next time I'll see him, it will be over there, but we haven't set any dates yet. There's still a lot to do here before I can move.

Welcome back Badgerella! Now that your fiance has left, you can get back to the serious business of hanging out on VJ. Of course I've long ago come to realize that while we come to VJ initially as a means to the end of being united with our loved ones as quickly as possible, we stay and socialize and gossip on VJ as an end in itself!

we all know you are very strong. She will be okay.

Skype can help to stay in touch with your kids. I can say you are the luckiest man on the planet now.

  8. HCM is a tough consulate and they are looking for LOTS of proof of a valid relationship. But, we made these plans because we want to marry someplace special and if you want to marry in Vacationland on an island in the summer, you have to plan and book ahead!! The fact that she will have our plans to describe to the CO is a bonus.

    Todd, thank you for info.

  9. The US Consulate in Ho Chi Minh has denied my wife case and advised that it's on its way back to USCIS. The case was denied due to the following reasons:

    1. Pictures shows we've only been together for 2-3 days --- Not true, we gaves them a lot of pictures with different places for my 3 trips to vietnam.

    2. Letters without postal envelopes. --- I admited this. We were not prepared and over confident but we do have all the envelopes ready to proof.

    3. Her lack of knowledges of my personal information. She did not know my boss name and the project I'm working on. --- Well, my mom has been married to my dad for 40 years and have idea what project he is working on.

    4. We provide different married proposal dates --- Not true, the CO misread my timeline letter. My timeline letter clearly provided the same date as when my wife was providing them on her interview.

    5. Phone bills not tracable --- What else do they want? I wrote the web url and id/password of the phone company where i obtainted the bill on the first page.

I took 4 trips to Vietnam

    Trip 1: 4/07 Met her

    Trip 2: 9/07 Visited her

    Trip 3: 4/08 Married her

Trip 4: 4/09 Visit her -- received denial letter at the Consulate when came for status

    MY QUESTION IS:

    What should I do?

    1. Should I file another petition? Seem faster but doesn't make sense because it's the same petition.

    2. Should I wait for the letter from USCIS and file an appeal? I heard it takes 2-3 years for them to decide? Too long!!

    3. Should I quit my job and move back to Vietnam to live with her while waiting for the decision? I'm having a great 10 years career with 1 company making over 100K but I can't imagine seeing her only for 3-4 weeks a year for the next 3 years (assuming I'm choosing option 2)

    Please help??

Sorry to hear about your case. You cannot do any thing except waiting for returned case and appeal it and may be live in VN can heal yours

  10. A few updates regarding the "Stuck at NVC" statistics website:

    1. Given the rush of new AP releases, perhaps we're rapidly getting to the point where we can shut this down and don't need it any longer! I wish that's true, however something tells me that they're still queuing up new AP cases just as they're freeing old ones.

    2. I gave up once and for all on the old hosting service I was using, nxserve.net. They had one advantage: they were FREE. I learned something from this experience: you get what you pay for! Free web hosting is like free beer ... a myth  So, I shelled out the grand sum of $14 for a 2 month hosting package on godaddy.com. And another $1.19 for our very own domain apnvc.info. This should be much more stable and reliable. The new URL is now simply: http://apnvc.info . This is also updated in my VJ signature, so it can be accessed from my postings directly.

    3. I've moved over the script from the old site to the new one. I had to make some adjustments (most notably godaddy doesn't have all the CPAN packages I relied upon, in particular the Error package which gives 'try' exception handling (use Error qw(:try)). It seems to be working ok without that, but it may blow up on certain date conversions that the exceptions were previously trapping. Like, people who enter illegal dates such as Nov 31. Before the exception handling would safely process these. Now I think the script will just abort and ####### out if it encounters a date like that. So I'll monitor that.. if it starts happening, I'll need to manually do my own exception handling. (Ok, that's technobabble I know, but I got on a roll there...)

    4. I can't get the cron job to fire :(. I spent a fair bit of time on it, but I'm giving up for tonight. I'll contact their help desk tomorrow and ask them why it's not working. The cron job is intended to run the script every hour, to refresh the files from the VJ database. Since it's not working that means the website will just sit there stale and static. It is currently showing server time of Wed Apr 15 22:24:48 2009 PDT, which was when I last ran the script manually. It will stay that way unless the script is run manually again, or I get the cron job to start firing hourly. (By the way, if anybody wants to run the script manually to force a data refresh, just PM me and I can give you simple instructions to force a run of the script. It's really easy to do.)

    5. I decided to rename it. Before I referred to it as "aka Ron's list". I realize that this was quite selfish. To be more altruistic I'd like to name it in honor of my patient and long-suffering honey - Thantita. Ergo - Thantita's List is born

    6. What else? The 'By country' stats is still a work in progress. I hope to get around to that on the weekend, now that it's finally hosted in a proper home. Also 'by month' stats, which I think will be useful to see if we start to get a reduction in the length of time cases are spending in AP @ NVC, down from the 50 range to hopefully more like the 30-40 range, or even lower.

    7. As always - any comments or suggestions are welcome. Either about additional information you'd like to see, or not want to see (e.g. I'm thinking of dumping the 'Leftovers' page, and I haven't decided if I like the Comments being displayed or not), or just cosmetic things like the color scheme, font size, etc.

    Ron,

I am appreciated your works. It will be very useful for people like us coming here to be cured by NVC hell.

  11. Our K3 got to NVC on March 6th and was stuck in AP on March 10th. It was just sent to embassy today :star: Which means we were in AP for 34 days total.

This is bitter sweet news to us since we had decided to follow CR1 but today found out our CR1 is also stuck in AP  Stupid AP  Anyways, my hubby and I will follow whichever one gets us reunited faster cz we are so freakin' tired of this separation and nerve-wrecking wait!!! So we shall see where that leads us...We are now hoping to secure a May interview for K3 and be able to flip to CR1. I still beleive things happen for a reason. NVC closed the May interviews yesterday so maybe this happened in our favor seeing as how we can still get a May interview and possibly flip our K3 to a CR1 interview ...Still keeping the faith :innocent:

For those of u still stuck in AP, I wish u lots of luck :star::star::star::star: and hope u too are out soon. I know how frustrating it is when ur hands are tied.

Poor you GS4EVER I hope you will be patient with both 2 in AP (K3 and CR 1). If you buy lottery, you will get the big prize  Come here, you have lots friends

  14. If you are given a blue slip and asked to turn in documents, does the same consulate officer who did the interview review these? Does anyone know?

Let's just say that you had proof that a consulate officer was giving you a blue slip because of a reason such as that consulate officer was your fiancee's ex boyfriend...etc.... is there anyway to ensure that you could have your documents looked at by a different officer?

    Just curious...

I just wonder that you are really need HELP/SUPPORT here. We are in VJ don't know what blue slip you were asked to turn in. Are there any issues that prevent to tell us?

I don't know how to tell you while you give us no clue about your case. The only things I can do is telling you to update your timeline first.

  15. Here's what I got a "Good Friday"

    Good afternoon,

Thank you for your inquiries of March 5 and April 1. We regret for a delay in our response.

After a thorough review of the facts of this case, the petition has been returned to the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Service (USCIS) where the petition was filed for review and possible revocation. It can take several months for the petition to be received by USCIS. We will inform the beneficiary and return all personal items submitted in support of the application to the beneficiary at the appropriate time. This case is now closed in our office.

I'm setting up an interview with ME. Hopfully he can reverse the decision.

Sorry to hear your news in that Good Friday. Be patient and strong.

  16. toddandhien, have any news for your interview yet?

I e-mailed the consulate on Monday and got a response today: "We have not scheduled the beneficiary for an interview yet..." :( How about you?

Same thing likes you. I''ll let you know if I have news.

I have received an NVC case number in the mail but when I call the hotline it says case not received. The case number was assigned almost two weeks ago. When I call and ask about the case it is in their system just not in the automated phone system. has anyone else had this happen to them?

You should talk directly to operator, after press #1 for English, normal press #5 immediately or #2 in system

  17. wew, after 8 months waiting for decision from US consulate in HCM, this is what I got in my email today:

After a thorough review of the facts of this case, the petition has been returned to the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Service (USCIS) where the petition was filed for review and possible revocation. It can take several months for the petition to be received by USCIS. We will inform the beneficiary and return all personal items submitted in support of the application to the beneficiary at the appropriate time. This case is now closed in our office.

    Sincerely,

    Consular Section

    U.S. Consulate General HCMC

I'm working with Mr Marc Ellis, is there any one in this forum success after case rejected and send back? I will update if anything new to my case , rught now we both very sad like a funeral.... :-(

Sorry to hear that. It's time for you to regroup and healed. Wish that things will come to you easier.

  18. I suppose we better join this thread. London hadn't received our package and despite having a letter from NVC stating our petition was to be forwarded on.....

We are in administrative processing :( I am so upset right now.

I guess you could say....given when the letter was sent....that we have been in AP for 28 days now. Most of which i was completely oblivious there was any kind of problem. If they are going to hold your case up, you would think the least they could do is write a letter saying "hey we lied, sorry! We aren't forwarding your case on to the embassy, we are going to sit on it until we can be bothered to look at it...."

    :crying:

Welcome to our thread. This place will help you relieved and patient while stucking in NVC and you are going to get lots of infor needed to your case.
