    American kills Filipino wife, claims self-defense

    CADWELL, Idaho - A Filipino woman with family ties in Chicago was shot and killed Sunday evening in Caldwell, following a reported dispute with her estranged husband.

    Caldwell is approximately 45 minutes west of Idaho’s state capitol of Boise.

    Chris Allen Stone has been charged with second degree murder after allegedly shooting Florence Madriñan-Stone twice in the head, according to a statement by Canyon County Prosecuting Attorney John T. Bujak.

    On Sunday evening, Sheriff deputies reportedly responded to a call about a shooting incident.

    When police arrived, they saw Madriñan-Stone “slumped in the back of a mini-van in the driveway” of the residence.

    Sheriff’s Captain Dana Maxfield described the death to Idaho news outlets as “a domestic situation that’s gone horribly wrong.”

    Following his arrest, Stone reportedly gave conflicting information as to the circumstances leading to the shooting.

    While being treated at a local hospital, investigators said Stone claimed “self defense”.

    He said the victim stabbed him first in the stomach. That’s when he pulled out his pistol and allegedly fired 2 shots into the back of her neck.

    Later, when police pointed out discrepancies in his story, police said Stone changed his statement. Stone then told police that his wife told him that she only married him for a green card. He said the statement “set him off” and he pulled out his gun.

    The prosecutor told reporters: “Self defense is something that a judge or a jury is going have to take a look at. Because we’re talking about bullets shot to the back of the head; it’s difficult for me to claim self defense on those facts.”

    Stone has been charged with second degree murder. If convicted, he could face a mandatory minimum 25 years, up to life in the Idaho State Penitentiary, the Idaho Press Tribune said.

    Stone is in police custody. His bond is set at $1 million.

    According to a cousin and friend from Chicago, Madriñan-Stone had been living separately with her husband. They said the couple was in the middle of a divorce. They had been married for more than 10 years and have 2 children.

    A native of Zamboanga del Norte, Madriñan-Stone finished her secondary education at the Saint Vincent’s High School in Dipolog City in 1994. Balitang America

    oo nga hindi ko rin makita profile mo. :)

    When I was shopping at Macy's sa Castleton Mall, I saw a Filipina working there. Cashier cya. I was paying my shoes tapos I noticed her name na may pagkapinoy then I looked at her at Pinay nga. I am not sure kung yun yung Aida na sinasabi mo. Ang age nya ba ay mejo nasa 40ish up na? Nahiya ako noon kaya hindi ko man lang kinausap. Kakarating ko pa lang kasi nun dito sa US kaya mejo mahiyain pa ako nun LOL! Slight lang :P

    ah oo i think sya yun,... kasi nasa 40's na sya mahaba ang hair na payat... friend namin un ng ate ko eh... sales assoc sya doon... so pwedeng sya ung nag cash register sayo. hehehe

    My wife & I live about 1 hour West of Indy. We have a filipina friend there in Indy with a small business. She ships balikbayan boxes for us sometimes. She'll even pick them up at your house. I can give you her webpage if you pm us.

    hmmmm... nagmove kami from cincinnati noong Dec lang kami d2, kasi ang hubby ko nag enroll sa IU, then nagwowork sya sa Community South Hospital, ako naman sa Dept of Revenue...oo kita kits tayo, maybe sa greenwood park mall or castleton mall. hehehe im so hapy, marami tayong taga indy!!! :jest:

    wow! gosh magkakalapit lang pala tayo... lagi ako sa north din kasi frend ko ung nagwowork sa community hospital north... and my husband nagwowork din sa south... hehehehe ako sa west nako work sa monday kasi malilipat ako sa airport...

    hala! nisearch ko yung place mo sa lugar namin. 1 hr and 11 mins ang layo. sana kitakits tayo nila shiela :) yung husband ko nagwowork sa downtown Indianapolis sa may South Meridian.

    oh my gosh taga indiana rin ako kakalipat lang namin... malapit ako sa downtown at nagwork ako dun dati sa government center... pero malilipat ako sa malapit sa airport sa monday... oh my gosh!!! d2 ko sa west side of indianapolis

    hi, i went in Bethesda clinic the one in downtown cincinnati... dont ever ever go to the one in norwood... they charged a lot then i went to the one in downtown and i just paid 45 dollars...

    hey that happens to me during my interview, they said my husband has insufficient money to support me but when i review my papers, it really enough for a k1 petition so what i did was just i submit thesame papers and i just added a letter from his job, stating his annual income, letter of employment stating the date hired, monthly salary, etc... i didnt use co sponsor, i just submitted thesame papers...
