  1. Dear VJ Family,

By the end of this year (2010) I will start working on my petition for the Removal of Conditional Status. My question is: "If my daughter (K-2)gets married before our temporary residency has been lifted, will it jeopardize her citizenship?" She will have a different last name by then. Will I have to include her in my petition still? Thanks alot if you can enlighten me on this one.

  2. I was so excited Monday morning when the mailman dropped our mails. I finally got my Employment Authorization Card from the mails. The validity is good for one (1) year. It didnt took that long for me to wait for it. I already have my Social Security ID. So, am ready to work sooner or later. For those who are applying for their AOS and EAD, just be patient. You will have yours in time. :)

  3. I just had my biometrics taken last Friday (Sept. 26, 2008). Everything turned out smooth and easy. There is no waiting line and the procedure is fast. My first time to experience something like this that I dont have to wait in line for a long time for my turn and the place is not crowded at all. (Unlike in the Philippines that it will take you the entire day to process your papers if not longer...). I will just wait for another NOA scheduling my interview. By the way, what do I need to prepare for my interview? What do I have to do? Is it like the interview at the USEM Manila? Do I need to bring my husband with me during my interview?

  6. hi to all ...im still gathering all the documents needed in the I-129f ..i have question regarding the notarized documents coz its not included on the package checklist which one am i going to notarized like my Birth Cert ,passport, what else?,,,can someone help me please...thank u...

The only document that needs to be notarized is the affidavit of support. And dont forget to attach the supporting documents needed (e.g. recent income tax return, bank statement, pay slip, property records and/or a letter from current employer. )

Check on this web page http://www.usavisanow.com/k1fianceevisainfo.html. I hope you find this helpful coz my fiance worked things out on his own and.....finally I am here (July 9, 2008) and got married (aug 08). Good luck

  7. Hi guys! This is the first topic, which I initiated (don't know if there's similar to this but anyway...)

I'm wondering if during the USEM interview, documents such as birth and marriage certificates from NSO need to be "new" (not later than 6 months) as they say there's a validity (?) of the said issued docs... I have 2 copies of each docs with me, though I got my birth certificate last year and marriage certificate this May. Reason why I got 2 copies of my birth certificate because every time I need to get a copy of this I should go to the NSO main (coz my birth cert has annotation--corrected typo) and when you will get NSO docs here you will go back after 1 or 2 weeks to pick up but when I go back to get it most often they ask me to go to NSO EDSA (after waiting for hours in NSO main--take note: from 12pm to 7pm)..

My question is if I won't get "new" copy of birth certificate and marriage certificate will have any problem? I'm thinking they won't mind it because applicants are paying document verification and isn't the purpose of this is to verify these NSO documents? Are those pre-screeners and/or consuls scrutinize these birth/marriage certs and if they are not "new" (since there's a paper color coding, if i'm not mistaken, but this changes every month?) will create delays?

And if I get these documents, I don't know what month or date should I get since were still waiting for NOA2 (sorry if this questions are too early to ask but I want to know as early as now so I know when to start gathering these things).

Your answer are greatly appreciated, thank you!

Hi! You dont have to worry about your BC and your MC. Good thing you have more copies with you. You will need your originals in the US when you apply for your Social Security (they will just look at it). USEM will still conduct a document verification thru NSO and that is the pain in the ###.....Have you check things out with DELBROS for the document verification fee and procedures? Better do.....I've been through it and it sucks!!!!!! Good luck to your journey.

You do not need to notarize any documents for your initial I-129f.

  9. Unless you HAVE to travel in the near future there is no requirement that you file the I-485 for your daughter at the same time you file. Why don't you get your GC so you can work to save of some extra cash and then file her AOS before she is 21?

    Cheers!!

My daughter needs to get her papers too so she can apply for SSN and get a job too after her GED course. Well, that's how it is here. We cant just be sitting pretty.

It is necessary that you file for the K-2's AOS asap, especially if she is 19 now due to past issues of those 21 or over adjusting status from a K-2. It is imperative she adjusts status, not just files for adjustment, before she is 21 to avoid any problems. Be aware of the processing times and alert the USCIS of her possible age-out if her AOS is not completed within 6 months of her turning 21 years old.

    PJ

    Thanks PJ

  10. Here is the fee schedule for I-485.

$930 plus a biometrics fee of $80; the fee total is $1,010. Exceptions listed below. There is no fee for applicants who are filing Form I-485 based on having been admitted to the United States as a refugee. Applicants 79 years of age or older are not charged a biometric fee; the fee total is $930. Applicants under 14 years of age: - Filing with the I-485 application of at least one parent have a fee total of $600 - Not filing with the I-485 application of at least one parent have a fee total of $930

Thanks Zak. That is exactly what I read on the website. I just need some clarifications. With all the replies i got from you guys, am now sure that we really have to come up with another $1010. That sucks!!! I would really need a job after all these fees. We're broke :crying: . Thanks again.

I already have my biometrics scheduled this Sept 26 for my EAD and AOS. I already got my Social Security Number. All I need is my employment authorization documents so i can apply for a job. 11. hi...we recently filed for AOS too and just like you i have a son.

What we did, we made two separate bank drafts for my petition

and for my son (1,010.00 and 600.00 respectively), hoping this

will not confuse the USCIS. I guess, we succeeded.

Good luck and hope everything will be remedied.

    peewee

Thanks peewee. But I think in my case I need to send another $1010 for my daughter's fee. God! When will all these fees come to an end? What about when we are on the process for applying for our green card? Another fee? :bonk:

My husband paid $1010 in check. Is my daughter not included in this considering she is on K2? My daughter is already 19 years old. Is the fee for individual application? Please help me....am so confused.

No, your daughter is not included in your fee. She has to pay her own fee. If she was under 14, it would be $600. Since she's over 14, I believe the fee for her is also going to be $1,010.

Thanks guys. Its alot of enlightening for me.

Unfortunately, I think your misread of the instructions just cost you $410. What previously would have been $600 is now $1010.

Thank you. Now we know what we are up to. Whew!

  13. Dear fellow VJs,

I need your help for this. We are working on our AOS. (Me and my daughter). We mailed the packet already. Today, i received from the mail my Notice of action for my AOS and EAD, but my daughter's application was rejected for reasons of lack of payment. My husband paid $1010 in check. Is my daughter not included in this considering she is on K2? My daughter is already 19 years old. Is the fee for individual application? Please help me....am so confused.
