  1. I just received a request for initial evidence for the I-485 of my wife concerning my affidavit of support not meeting 125%. We have a co/joint sponsor with highly sufficient funds and at first i wondered why I got the notice. I was unemployed and just recently got hired. I wondered and read the notice again carefully and it says that my income does not exceed yet I listed my current income to be sufficient. When i first filed it, i just got hired and put down the annual salary for my new job but i guess this was wrong?

Now im asking for opinions, should i try to get all the documents such as proof of employment, etc they are asking for concerning my proof that i make sufficient income (i do have several pay stubs now with my new job but do not believe that my previous job + unemployment benefits + my new job would equal to the salary i listed since my new job pays much higher)

Or should i mail them a letter stating i made a mistake entering the listed income.

any input is appreciated. thank you very much

  2. I have read in other places that it is possible to work without an EAD? since on the I-9 form that employers fill it out, a valid combination would be a foreign passport + valid I-94 + SS number ? But it also said that it depends on the employer....... i was wondering could she possibly find a job and use the SS and I-94 and tell the employer the EAD is processing? anyone with experience with this?

  3. Ok i did a bit more research and she does not have a DS-3025 / immunization record. i dont know why st lukes didnt give her a copy but supposedly they sent it to the embassy. she said she saw it but they didnt give it to her and sent it for her instead to the embassy. i do not understand why they did not give her a copy. i guess il have to contact them to fax it or something but knowing the philippines and how they are there.. this is gunna be a pain. hopefully not.

thank you so much for the people who replied i appreciate it.

  4. Ok ive done so much research and I just don't get it.

My wife came to the US with a K1 fiance visa from the Philippines.

I read that since she's had her medical at prior, we do not need the I-693 but only the supplement I-693A.

Upon arrival to the States, all she has from St Lukes Hospital is a single CD labeled chest radiograph and with the text, " Please bring this x-ray CD to the US for medical follow-up at the Health Department.

I call many civil surgeons in my area and most do not know about 693A. I finally goto one and they want me to fill out a normal I-693 but the doctor would cross out the irrelevant since my wife already had a full medical.

Here is the problem, the doctor of course wants proof of the immunization and vaccinations. We have none. St Luke's did not provide any and only gave a CD. According to my wife, the staff member at St Lukes told her they would send all to the embassy.

What should I do? Do i need to have someone goto st. lukes in the philippines and find her immunization record? or do i disregard including the 693A since st lukes said they sent everything to the embassy? i am so lost.

Secondary note, the I-693A i pulled from ins gov site is supposedly outdated and no longer used according to the doctor thus the recomendation of using the normal I-693.

Third note, st lukes did not complete the cervical vaccination and we need 2 more shots that cost an insane amount plus influenza shot.

any insights? help? what is my best course of action.

this is long and i thank whoever reads and comments. god bless

  5. Me and my wife just got married and I am now trying to send out her AOS +EAD paperwork but I have a problem. A month before she came to the States, I was laid off. What should I do wit the AOS since I read you must send another affidavit of support? Should I wait until I have a new job? My initial affidavit for the K1 Visa included a joint sponsor. Thank you for any help...

  6. I've read several places that co-sponsorship for an Affidavit of Support (I-134) isnt accepted in the Philippines? Can anyone disapprove this?

And also if anyone could enlighten me as to my situation, I am not sure i can qualify for the affidavit of support alone. i have only been employed for 2 months, fresh out of school BUT i have been hired full time permanently at an annual salary slightly above 20k.

    thanks!!!!!!!!!!!

  7. I'm very happy I found this site and it is proving to be very useful. I have researched thoroughly and read the guidelines but just wanted to double check with the forum. I am about to start this journey!!!

In preparation of my 1-129F package,

I am emailing my girlfriend the g-325a , letter of intent, and asking her to take passport pics. I just want to make sure if that is all she needs to MAIL to me. To save time and money, are there any other things she might want to include?

Thank you very much for your time!
