  1. Hey VJ'ers,

I had filed an I-130 for my brother in September 2008. I am myself a US Citizen. After filing, i received a letter saying that USCIS has received my application.

Today, July 14th, 2010, I received another letter saying that the petition I filed for my brother has been approved.

Can some one please guide me as to what is the next step and what happens from here and its timeline.

    Your help is highly appreciated.

    Thank You,

    Big Blue

  2. My Wife spoke with M.D. Antani, and the US documents or Interview letter were not a problem. However after Jan 1st, the Local PCCs need to be signed by the Local Tax Collector, and then verified by the office in Gandhinagar. Now this is what is holding up the passport office clearance for me, anyone else have to go through this??

    Hey quedup,

My wife is facing the same problem. She was also asked to get signatures from the local tax collectors office and then from Gandhinagar and then take those documents to Ahemdabad passport office to get the PCC.

When she went to get the PCC from local police station Apostilled, the collector refused to sign because the DSP had already signed the PCC from the local area. So apparently, the local DSP and the Tax collector had meetings about this issue because they are not aware about this new rules and they said they would confirm the new process and do the needfull.

Hopefully things will work out well and they will be able to get the PCC from passport office soon. I will post my progress towards this matter on this Forum-Topic.

I am not in a rush to get my PCC because my wifey has to finish her final semester which does not end untill June 09, which gives me ample time to deal with the Government of Gujarat.

Hope this information is helpful to others.

  3. Matthew123,

All you need to do is call NVC everyday and try to find out if your DS-3032 has been generated or not. If not then you will have to wait but keep trying 3 to 4 times a day because the AVR takes time to be updated (I would talk to the representative at NVC).

Once your DS-3032 has been generated just follow James Shortcut from WIKI to create your own DS-3032 before you even receive one from NVC.

You can Mail and Email your DS-3032 once you find out that it has been generated. There is no point in sending your DS-3032 to NVC if it has not been generated yet.

    Good Luck

  4. Moosker,

I believe you need to wait untill your husband gets the information for AOS (Affidavit of Support) bill in the mail which would have the IIN (invoice Identification Number) listed. You can either mail in the payment based on the information given on the AOS bill or you can pay the AOS bill online at

    https://ceac.state.gov/CTRAC/Invoice/signon.aspx

I hope this will help you Moosker

Check the AVR (Automated Voice Response). Call 1-(603)-334-0700 and follow the instructions. You will need either your CIS receipt no. or NVC Case no. Generally the AVR will tell you if your DS-3032 and AOS bill has been generated or not. If not then you can speak to one of the representatives and they might be able to help you with that.

Hope this will help you Peter n Jamie

  5. Hi everyone,

I just called NVC and listened to the AVR system and found out that my DS-3032 and IV bill was generated and mailed on Jan 16.

I wanted to know that if you only Email the DS-3032, do you get the acceptance reply through Email or by Mail?

and If you only Mail the DS-3032, how do they let the petitioner or beneficiary know that the DS-3032 was accepted?

Thank you in advance, and Good luck to all.

  6. Hello VJ members,

I got approved on January 5th, 2009. NVC received it and issued my case no. on January 8th, 2009.

Best wishes to everyone on their NVC Journey.

    Hi bigblue

Our case number assigned on the same date. Does NVC generate your choice of agent yet?

    Hi Mommy,

I called NVC this morning and they have not yet generated my DS-3032. I am hoping they will generate it by tomorrow.

I will keep you posted on my progress with any of the NVC steps. I do have a signed DS-3032 ready to be sent out once they have generated it.

    Regards,

  7. Hey waithater and to all,

This is what I did, Go to VJ WIKI and search for James Shortcut. Once you get there look for DS-230 Coversheet. This is a word document, insert all the details of your case. Email that word document to the beneficiary and ask them to print it in color and take that to the passport office in ahemdabad.

Waithater if you are having a hard time finding that word document then e-mail me through visa journey and I will send you the word document as an attachment.

  8. Hi waithater,

My wife is going through the same problem. Ahemdabad passport office is giving her a hard time to issur passport clearance certificate. I have just mailed her the approval notice. I will keep you posted if they issue the certificate just by showing the approval notice. I might also follow SIYARAM's idea of printing the DS-230 coversheet if just the approval notice is not sufficient.

  9. M&S, I am also waiting for my case to get at NVC like you if you have any new info do share with us in this thread. I did see you got the signature set up that is good because other people will know what is going on and how long it takes for each step at NVC. Rmusic

Hi Rmusic, I have followed up with the NVC - called and checked the automated voice response system and talked to an agent. They told me that it could take upto 90 days to get the case in the system and refused to provide any other information. I am really scared. I notice date for approval was 9/3 and today its the 9/15!!! I noticed a lot of peoples timelines and it usually happens pretty quick. Not sure why mine is taking longer. I hope its not 90 days :clock:

As soon as anything happens, I will post something in the forum and will also update the spreadsheet.

I will be preparing for the next few steps and so I should be very active on the forum. This forum is sooooooooo helpful.

Good luck with receiving your NVC tracking number.

    Hi M&S,

I wouldnt worry because your I-130 was approved in 3 months which is really quick. Normally it takes 6 to 7 months for an approval of 1-130. When they say it takes 90 days to get the case number in the system, that means it is just a set rule. I personally think you will have your case number by the end of this week.
