Yes, you need to send those to NVC, along with DS-230 Part I. NVC changed procedures for Guangzhou last September and all original P3 materials now need to be sent to NVC.

Congratulations! aicecream.
Two questions about interview in Guangzhou:
1) Normally how long is between receiving Packet 4 and the interview date?
2) What language is used in interview, English or Chinese, or both?

oh well.. I figure it might take a while.. my wife actually said people were getting their files from mid-December to end of December already.. she is using the 001 website.. so I don't know if the information over there is credible or not.. but she said she was messaging with "admins" (JMS) people over there and that one of them knows a lot about the dates.. thanks for your input, pushbrk!
Hi gogo,
NVC told me that my case has been forwarded to Guangzhou on Oct 20, 2008. I tried to tracked it on DHL site with something like "EXP 22 OCT 2008A" but never found it. After reading your post, I then tried "B" or even "C" and but got "No shipments found". What did I do wrong on DHL site?
When I tried, I entered "EXP 29 OCT 2008B" for Reference, selected Shipment pick up date range from Oct 23, 2008 to Nov 07, 2008. I also changed the Reference and date range. Nothing came out.
Would you help me try?
Thanks a lot.

Check with uscis.gov, currently in CSC, I-130 for LPR spouse is in the time frame of Feb 08, 2005. In VSC, the time frame is around Jan 18, 2006.
When should LPR I-130 get approved?
Based on the current time frame for LPR spouse I-130 (1/18/2006), it will take another year for your I-130 to be processed if you filed in 12/2007. But if you become a citizen, it will only take few months.
Dingc08,
Do you have any idea when mine is supposed to get processed? I filled my I-130 on Dec. 2006 for my spouse as an LPR.
Thanks
Just go to USCIS.gov and checking for "Processing Times". The processing dates shown there represent the receipt dates of petitions and applications currently being processed by the USCIS Service Center. Find the Service Center that has your petition and it should give you an idea when your petition would be processed.
I know but it's showing the same processing date ever since I started to view it. Current processing time for I-130 (LPR spouse) Jan, 18, 2006 so sad
It gets updated monthly.

Now that our case is complete and been sent to GUZ, do we contact the DOS @ 202-663-1225 for updates? Is there an email for questions?, or do we contact the consulate with questions? Thanks, Mike & Yizhen
I just call DOS once a while and they will update the case status.

Even K3 took that long. Wonder how long will be for IR1.
-
Thanks, pushbrk. I guess I just have to wait more time and keep calling State Dept to check out if Guangzhou receives the case.

Anyone here has his/her case to Guangzhou, China? Can you share your timeline?
My case left NVC for Guangzhou on Oct 21 2008 and still not reach Guangzhou yet. Called State Dept and was told that Guangzhou has received electronic case info but not yet receive the "physical" case material. They said it could take 4 months.

Hi gogo,
our case left NVC on 7/2 and was delivered to GUZ on 7/22, but the consulate didn't open the case till 8/29. and we just became eligible for an interview since last week but no date has been scheduled yet. i hope this information would help you to estimate the process time in GUZ.
Good luck!
Hi AppleBee:
NVC told me that my case left NVC to Guangzhou on 10/21. But I went to DHL website and could not find any shipment to Guangzhou between 10/17 and 10/27. How did you track yours? Once Guangzhou opened the case, how did you know when you would become eligible for an interview?
I really appreciate your help!

Yes, n/a and none are appropriate.

Hi, I have some questions for DS-230 Part I for my 2-year-olddaughter. Anyone who filed DS-230 for young child please advise. Here is what I put of DS-230 for some of the items:
#20 - N/A (The item asks for address since reaching the age of 16. Should I put her current address here even she is only 2?)
#23 - None (The item asks for languages spoken or read. My 2-year-old barely starts speaking)
Are these answers OK?
Thanks in advance for any advice.

Yes, you need to submit 2pcs of passport pictures for each applicant, I think it is 5x5 cm .
You can check on NVC website for detail about picture.
Thanks for your help, divi.
Good luck to your interview next month!

Hi, when does an applicant submit his/her photos, with DS-230 or at interview?
I could not find instruction regarding photos on NVC website.
Thanks,

Thanks very much, divi.
One more question. When submitting DS-230. do we need to include 2 photos of each applicant? I could not find the photos on the required document list for DS-230 on NVC website. Did I miss it somewhere?
Your help is greatly appreciated.

Look like everything is sent to NVC now. This is from Guangzhou's IR-1/CR-1 instructions:
Step 3
Once the Consulate receives the petition, it will review the file to ensure that all necessary documents have been submitted by the beneficiary. If more documents are required, the Consulate will resend the instruction packet to the beneficiary. Once all documents have been received, the case will be scheduled for an interview. Interviews are typically scheduled for a date within 2 to 4 months of this time.
Everything is sent to NVC or packet 3 is resent based on these instructions.
JBHypno
JBHypno, I spoke to a NVC rep last night and confirmed that procedure for Guangzhou did change recently to Appointment Processing as other consulates. So be prepared and have your wife collect all documents in China and mail to you ASAP.
Hope your I-130 is approved soon.

Guangzhou is back on the list for supplimental documents but the page can no longer be found. Looks like the changes are still a work in progress. It looks like I will have to have my wife send me all of the supporting documents. Since it now seems they have to be sent to NVC rather than be submitted in China.
JBHypno
I just noticed that too. Also if you check NVC Appointment Post List page and Guangzhou is not there! So I am totally confused and will have to wait to receive NVC paper instruction in mail before moving on. Bummer!

I hope someone with same situation helps with this.
I am preparing to submit DS-230 for my 2-year-old daughter. On Part I for "SIGNATURE OF APPLICANT", either my wife or I can sign it. Question is how to sign it? Can we sign like:
Child_Name (signed by Parent_Name, Mother/Father)
or is there better or conventional way to sign?
Thanks a lot.

Yes that is interesting the standard link is gone and I can't even pull up the supplimental form for Guangzhou anymore. I wonder if they are changing the procedures? I prepared the documents based on the standard method which is what China uses.
JBHypno
It looks like NVC does not have Standard Processing anymore. One the Applicant Document Processing link (http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/info/info_3190.html) it does mention Guangzhou as an exception when sending interview appointment.
Child Act 2000
in Bringing Family Members of US Citizens to America
Posted
Hi,
My son immigrated to US last year and, by Child Act 2000, he would acquire US citizenship automatically.
My question is, do I HAVE TO apply US passport for my son NOW (who is only 4 this year) or can it be delayed till he is close to 18 years old? Can he still use his Chinese passport and green card to travel to China and come back to US?
Anyone has similar situation?
Thanks a lot.
