  1. YES! We have a joint account, they would call to the bank and they will check it... He just want to make sure our credits cards belongs to the same account... and another thing is that my wife has not ID for NY and He asked her to make one and come back...

it looks like it would be fine... more that a RFE

what he wortes in his passport was his name, my A number, the date and the green card I was applying for.

  2. You can not adjust status (to permanent resident) from outside the country - meaning you can not transfer your case to a consulate/embassy. If you are scheduled an AOS interview - you would not want to miss the interview.

that was a really ridiculous question, right? :)

so... they still will scheduled an AOS interview even if i am outside of the country... will be a huge problem during the interview to be living with my wife outside US? I guess there is not a 100% sure answer for that question...

    thanks.

  3. There are a lot of 'ifs' here.

My first thought is 'what happens if/when USCIS schedules an AOS interview?' Will you be able to return for this?

Well, thinking that I am gonna have money I am sure I am gonna be able to take around three days for the interview but the problem is... Imagine, when we get to the interview... we are gonna be living together BUT in Europe! Will it be a problem?

I am wondering if i Could transfer the case to a consulate in Europe? maybe it will be the solution... if i finally decide to get the job.

    thanks again!

  4. That's a tough choice to make considering the state of the economy in this country. You are free to do as you wish but you need to consider all your options before you make a decision. The first being that your AOS has not been approved yet and the USCIS might ask you to go in for an interview before it is approved. Also, keep in mind that the whole purpose of a getting a permanent residency is to live permanently in the US, so you may be able to stay away for 6-12 months but you will most likely have to explain your absence when you come back. If the company in Europe decides to hire you and you decide to take it and plan to be outside the US for more than 12 months, you will have to file an I-131 so you can stay outside the US for up to 24 months and be able to return without any problems. Again, this form needs to be approved before you leave.

    Thanks a lot Diana,

So... if i understand everything... I am able to be in Europe for six months prior to get the Green Card? but... Will stay outside USA delayed the process or they will call me for the interview not matter where I am?

We both want to live in the US but... you know... the economy is being a big problem and if we are able to get a good job during a time and then come back without problems (being away no more than 6 months) this is something to consider..

    thanks again!

  5. Well... A lot of things are happening in my life... I am almost getting it but still waiting for a EAD...

I am not able to work here and my economy situation is really bad.

Yesterday I got a call from a company in Europe... they want to flight me there for an interview and a real possibility to get a job.

My wife will come with me...

I have several questions... i would like some help... it is a difficult since it is a really difficult deccission:

I am in the middle of the whole process, AOS because marriage... I have an AP to travel... but:

    1. Will the process be paused till i come back? Will I lose to be considered for a AOS, permanent resident even thinking that my wife is gonna come with me?

    2. How much time could i be working in Europe?

    3. What i would have to do to come back after, imagine, one year? And if i come back before six months pass?

Thanks a loooooot! Again, you guys are the best!

  6. Hello everyone!

I am again around here... Well... I know it sounds a bit weird because i got married to stay and live with my wife but here is my question:

I am in the middle of the process... I should be getting my EAD soon and I guess after that I will have an interview with my wife to get the temporal green card...

The only thing We are kind of worried about if that We are both pretty young, recently graduated student... and with the bad economy situation she is thinking to past a time in France just studying french there... I don't know if it is possible for her to be there during a while... like 3 months without causing a problem in the process... she is the petitioner and I am the applicant.

    thanks a loooot!!!!!!!

  7. I sent all my documents like two weeks ago... My check was cashed and they sent me the Biometrics appointment for October, 16.

I just need a little bit of help with some question... I am the one that is applying... I don't really know if my wife should come with me to the appointment or I have to go alone...

And... what does it really mean? Are all my papers right? or they still can us for more documentation?? I am just wondering how long time i am gonna have to wait for everything...

Thanks a lot... i should upload some pictures of us and make my sign at the end of the post... like everybody does... thanks, thanks, thanks!!!

  8. Hello to everybody again!

I sent all my documents last Friday to Chicago and It is already there... I just want to know a few things...

First of all... what is the next step? I don't even know... i guess they have to call me or send me some letter... I was applying for a AOS after marriage.

Second question... I have the money in my account for the both check I sent but i have to take some money out and then make a deposit in like a week... I am afraid about take some money out of my account and then don't have enough money for the checks... I mean, i don't know how long time they take to process the payment... is it the first thing they do? so... should i keep the money there?

I am just stress out... life of an student is HARD! :(

Thanks a lot to everybody! This place is being really helpful.

  9. wow! sorry!

    i have an M-1.

I passed the Medical Examination and i have the documents from the doctor.

I have two sponsors and we have friends to prove we are together.

We got married three weeks ago in New York.

I am just afraid... I mean, We are together but since We are both students we don't have kind of a economy together beyond that our family money deposits in our respective accounts he!...

  10. So, we got married but We are both students, just recent graduated... We don't own a house or a car together. We don't have an insurance but I have an Insurance in Europe that cover me here. We met in Europe like 7 months ago and We just want to be together so We got married... My family is in Europe and They weren't able to come because My grandad was really sick.

We are both from the same school in USA and We met in Europe coz this school have some international programs with students abroad.

Which evidence can we send with our documents? We only have pictures... we are moving to another aparment... so, maybe, the contract of this aparment but not more...

It is weird how difficult is to show you are a real couple when you don't have money :P

  11. Hi everybody!

I am happily married with my girlfriend from Paris. She is from California and i came to NY to finish my studies and be with here.

We just got married last Friday and I am needing to know which documents i need for the AOS if I am legally here with a M-1 Visa.

I have all the information for the AOS and I am really worried about the I-864 Affidavit of Support, She is a student with a Student Loan so She can't be my sponsor... we don't know what to do. She is orphan so, she doesn't have a member of the family who can sponsor me...

I guess we can use a friend... Is it ok if we have some money in a foreign account? i mean, will it counts like assets?

Thanks a lot for you help!
