So did your email have an actual USPS tracking number in it? None of mine had USPS tracking numbers so I could not tell what was going on or where the so-called overnight shipment actually was in the USPS system.
Overnight is just another way to get more $ out of us, I guess. Live and learn. Seems like you get better information if you don't pay the extra money.
Also in the tracking it says should be delivered by 11/4....lets see

Well, today I received my "Overnighted" Passport Book and also my Naturalization Certificate.
Out of curiosity, I checked the tracking on the "Overnight" shipment. Some overnight service. :-( It was received at the PO in Little Rock, AR around 6pm on 10/29, got to Seattle by 7:30 the next morning (10/30) and after that ... it seems to have sat in Seattle for 11 hours, before it was finally shipped out to Everett, where it was scanned in after 11pm on 10/30. It arrived at my PO on Saturday (10/31), but for some reason, they held all our packages (very small PO, they sometimes do that as we often go in to drop off stuff in the am anyway) on Saturday and I finally got it today, Monday. Even if the PO had not held it, the package was clearly not dealt with as an Express / Overnight package since it sat in Seattle all day on Friday, instead of moving quickly in the right direction.
In hindsight, I wouldn't have wasted the extra $14.85 had I known it was not going to be actually overnighted.
The NC was mailed in a priority envelope dated 10/30 and it also arrived today. No tracking number was on it, so don't know if it was held along with the other packages or just managed to arrive today. Sadly, the Priority Envelope it arrived in looked like it had been out in the rain for some time or something had mangled it all up, so my perfectly flat, nice new certificate is all wrinkled up. But perhaps if I put it back in its Cardboard holder and put some books on top, it will flatten out again? I can always hope. :-)
Just waiting for the Passport Card now.

Got an e-mail yesterday midnight that the passport has been mailed to me. Paid overnight but i haven't received yet. This morning i also received an e-mail and it is saying printed. I don't get it. Do they provide a USPS tracking number to check ? First e-mail it is mailed, Second one is it is printed. Its kind of confusing.
I got the same series of emails. And no tracking number for the shipment.
Yesterday's email said:
We have finished processing your passport, and it has been mailed to you.
Your passport application locator number is XXXXXXXXX.
You paid for overnight delivery. This means you should receive your passport on or about 10/31/2015.
Today's email said:
We have finished processing your passport, and it has been printed.
Your passport application locator number is XXXXXXXXX.
You paid for overnight delivery. This means you should receive your passport on or about 11/01/2015.
And then I went online to see what it said there ... wish I had looked yesterday as well.
Online it says:
Your passport application is in the final processing stages.
Your passport application locator number is XXXXXXXXX.
When you applied, you requested Expedite Service.
This means your passport should be mailed via overnight delivery on or about 11/01/2015.
So I am in the same boat. No idea what is going on. Just hoping that it arrives tomorrow or Monday, since it obviously isn't going to arrive on Sunday.

Got an email this morning, sent around 1am, that my passport had been mailed and telling me I paid for overnight delivery (I think I knew that!) and that I should expect it by Saturday. I don't get the logic. If it's been shipped and overnighted, then shouldn't it be here by Friday latest? Plus with the way most people note that it comes well before they say it should, I thought it might actually arrive today, but no sign of it. Then again the mailman is not so reliable here. Might show up tomorrow, I suppose.

Check now says it cleared yesterday and today I received an email to let me know my passport was in process - but I already knew that from checking for tracking yesterday!

Oops I messed up. This week I cannot keep track of what day it is! I did the passport app and voter registrations on Wednesday, the next day! And if it matters, I paid the extra for expedited processing and overnight shipping so I might be able to get to my granddaughters birthday in November.

Sorry for the delay VJers.
Had my interview at 8am on Tuesday in Seattle - finally. :-)
I was the second person called in after I arrived in the waiting room. The interview lasted about 10 or 15 minutes. :-)
Questions - I'm sure about all but one:
When was the Declaration of Independence adopted?
We elect a President for how many years?
What is the name of the Speaker of the House?
Who lived in America before the Europeans arrived?
Name one of the 2 longest rivers in the US?
What do we call the first 10 amendments to the constitution? (this is the one I'm not positive about)
The reading portion was a 4 or 5 word question which completely escapes me now. Could have been "When do we celebrate Independence Day?" But might not have been.
The writing portion was "Independence Day is in July."
I was asked if I wanted to do the oath ceremony same day and when I said "yes", was told to be back for 1:15. Luckily, I had not checked out of my hotel, so I went back there to spend the next few hours!
Oath ceremony lasted about an hour and a half with 83 new citizens from 53 countries. I didn't think I'd be as emotional as I was. I am now a US Citizen!!
There was a representative there handing out voter registrations, so I filled one out. But when she said it wouldn't be in effect for this election I opted to take it with me, because I knew that the deadline here for in person registration was not until 10/26.
Tuesday morning, on my way to work, I stopped and registered to vote and applied for my passport. Both places were in the same building and it took me less than 25 minutes to do them total. I think it really helped having all the paperwork filled out and ready before I got there. It was really hard to let go of that Certificate of Naturalization I had just received, but I needed the passport and it's the only way to get one.
The paperwork we received said to wait 10 days before going to Social Security, so I'll do that after I get my certificate returned from the passport office.
This ends my Visa Journey. :-)

I don't know if it takes longer for a transfer or not. I suppose it might. But then I think it might matter where the file was when you transferred.
I finally got my notice and my interview is on 10/20.

Got my interview notice on September 7th. Interview is on October 8th. Finally!!
Did you get online notification? If so, how long did you wait for the letter to arrive? I am just sitting on the edge of my seat waiting for the mail now! And studying the 100 questions every day.
Seems like Seattle is finally picking up. Maybe they're getting those newly hired officers trained enough to do interviews now. :-)

My priority date is 3/18/15. I was expecting to hear this week about my interview date being scheduled, so it was a pleasant surprise for it to come last week! The physical notice should come this week and I'm expecting the interview to be sometime in the middle of October. All judging by timelines I've seen on Trackitt.

I read some of it here and also possibly on another site. If you look at the timelines for other filers on this site, through the Seattle office, you'll see that the time frame is about 8+ months. Also if you check the USCIS site, you can see that in Seattle they are processing at about 8-9 months. Last update there was posted 6/15, stating as of 4/30 they processed 8/16/14 case. :-(

The Seattle office is taking forever. There are people from last fall that are still waiting for interviews in Seattle. At the rate it's going in Seattle, you'll be lucky if your interview is scheduled before October.
Apparently, they had a bunch of interviewers retire or resign almost a year ago. And I read somewhere that the IOs can't do interviews until they've worked there for at least a year. So, maybe it will speed up a bit once that year has gone by, but don't hold your breath!
I'm just resigned to waiting until the fall to hear anything more. And if it happens any sooner ...

Mine says "my case is in line for interview" in the big flowery lettering at the top but has always said the text you quoted underneath that. At least since 2 days after I did biometrics. I don't think it means they've scheduled it yet as that is different wording again.

I have a question and I hope somebody can enlighten me:
The status online, after the fingerprints, used to be something like "as of April 20th, your file is in line for interview" or something along these lines.
I looked today and the phrasing changed to "On April 20, 2015, we started the interview scheduling process [...] We will send you an interview notice. Please follow any instructions in the notice."What could be the reason for this change in verbiage?

Can't figure out how to edit the list/remove quote coding.
Mailed mine 3/16, GC since 10/08 Phoenix Lockbox / Seattle is my local office

They wont give her a DL on the spot no matter what, you have to wait 7-10 days for it to be mailed out from Madison.
We had to take the written test and the driving test before Ohio would give us a DL. They said those with a Japanese DL don't need to take either and with a GC they just will issue the Ohio DL on the spot! Strange they'll do that for a country that drives on the opposite side of the road and whose primary language is about as different from English as it gets! The reasoning the local BMV gave us was because, "Canada and the US aren't really getting along too well right now. Canada didn't sign the patriot act..."
Yes, it's the same here in WA...I will need to take a written and road test to get a DL, but here, if you have a German DL, you can get a Washington State license on the spot. It makes absolutely NO sense!
The law in WA is also so inconsistent that I am not currently legal to drive. Here, you are only legal to drive for 30 days on a foreign license and then are required to have a WA DL....but the law will not allow me to take the test, etc, until I have a SSN, which I cannot get until I have EAD (which takes at least 3 months and then a further number of weeks to get the SSN). Man, oh man...just add it to the loooong list of frustrations and inconsistencies in this process.
...just taking it one day at a time :-)

Hi Annie,
I did not require the SSN to get my WA drivers license. I had to sign a form saying I did not have one. I went to the Bellingham office and they did make me take the written test and the practical test - for which I had to make an appt. While I was waiting to find this out, I read the driving manual, not knowing I would have to take the test - that helped when they told me I could take it right then.
WA did not sign on to the REAL ID act last I understood. They had some issues with the security of people's information I believe. So it is a bit easier to get a license here.
You should be able to get a license without the SSN, as long as you have all the other required identity and residence proofs (can't recall what I took with me!).
Got my WA license in April, GC a couple of weeks ago, and only applied SSN yesterday.

Maybe no one has an answer for you - other than to look at the stats for yourself? Most of the people who've already received their passports are probably not looking back at this thread.
