  1. Hi Everyone,

My fiance had his interview are the Embassy in Abu Dhabi on Feb 7th. He was put on Administrative Processing. Its been 22 days now and we are still waiting. I was wondering if anyone has had any expierence with this. If so what kind of time frame am I looking at.

    Any information would be appreciate.

    Thanks,

    Cherrine

Hi. Yep, my husband was placed on AP after his interview on November 10, 2009. He is Saudi, but his interview was in Sydney because that is where he is currently residing. It's been almost 4 months, but from what I've read on this site ... the wait for individuals from Arab countries can be very loooooooooong. I'm keeping my fingers crossed, especially because his Australian visa is close to expiring and that would mean transferring the case to Riyadh and MORE delays.

Good luck to you and yours.

  2. Hello

My husband had his interview yesterday at the Sydney Embassy and was given a white slip that read, "Wait until we contact you." The CO who interviewed him said she was sending his case back to Washington for further name checks?? We have already been in the same process at the USCIS level. The Consular Officer did take his passport though. Has anyone been through AP at the embassy level? And, more importantly how long is the average wait????

Also, does anyone have any advice for inexpensive accommodations in Sydney? My husband will have to stay there now until they mail him his passport. He was originally living/studying in Perth on the other side of the Country!!!

Please, any advice is welcomed!! :help:

  3. Hello all,

I'm hoping someone can help me figure this out.

My husband and I had been waiting for an approval from USCIS for a year and a half (it finally came through this month!). During this time span my husband was accepted to a university in Perth, Australia where he is now residing. However, the original embassy we requested was Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. My question is - does anyone have experience with requesting a change of embassy for the interview or will he have to fly back to Riyadh for the interview? It would be an inconvenience for his studies and a drain on our funds for him to have to fly back to Saudi, then back to Australia, then after his semester back to the USA!

    Any suggestions? Experiences? Advice?

    ~~Thanks

Does he have the appointment scheduled from Riyadh, Saudi Arabia ?

If I were you, I would like to keep Riyadh, Saudi Arabia because it is easy for them to keep everything in track.

But if you really want to change, you have to contact NVC via mail or email to request the change of Embassy.

But you should be aware that it may delay the process a lot because of paperwork/case transfer, and also cause mail-in-lost, and lack of information for interview because it is not his home country.

Also new Embassy may require a lot more information because they could not get it from local.

So it is up to you, but it may cause a lot of trouble.

If you can bear some trouble for his current residing country, you can contact NVC for the change request.

    Hi Thanks for the reply!

We actually had the change of embassy approved, and quite quickly. I sent an email request and followed up with it by sending a hard copy request letter via the snail mail with documentation supporting my husband's legal residence in Australia. It was all very smooth and now he has his interview set for Nov. 10th in Sydney.

Good luck with the rest of your journey!

  4. Hi friends ,

After long journey i just recived an email from NVC which says following thing .

An immigrant visa interview has been scheduled for the applicant at the U.S.

    Embassy/Consulate in RIYADH on November 3, 2009 .

You and your wifey have been waiting a long time ... Good Luck with your interview!! Please post how it goes and any tips/advice you can share.

My husband is currently in Australia studying, so we had his interview transferred from RID to SYD. He will have his interview on November 10th!! Then, Inshallah, he will fly to California soon after.

We will keep you in our prayers ... =)

  5. well it was good while it lasted . i felt pretty lucky and happy except for a few thing i didnt agree with that we talked about the other night. first off theres alot of low class paople and druggers that work for her boss at chinese chef but my wife is friends with all of them and they all have her number becoz they are the only vietnamese in town.second she started going gambleing about a month ago on weekeds with her boss and boosses brothers all who own resterants and bosses brother in law and all the worker wich are all men that live in thwe bosses machines shed they have made into room for the workers

. my wife would get all sexy looking and go out and not come home until 6 am in the morning

. she says the boss gives everybody mone when he wins and she would come home with 300 dollars everytime. i work 3rd shift and really wasnt good for our relationship. i wanted her to be happy but i told her i didnt like it. my only nights off and she spend with them. I told her if she wanted anymore to do with them she didnt want me. iI said if i didnt trust her so much i would think she was a #######. she hit kicked me threw things at me and i swear i thought she would kill me. we have aloaded pistil in our house and i thought if she got it she would kill me so i toook it outside and out it in my truck . when i came back i layed down on my bed and later got up and the little girl asked wheres momm? i looked out on the front porch and every cop in town had a shot gun on me. she had called the police and siad i was going to kill someone and was in the house with a gun and her kids.thats when i knew we were done. the cops heard my story and found the gun in the truck unloaded and let me go. but now my wife left. she just got her 3 year green card and her kids just got there papers talking about there bio appointment. will she be able to stay in usa??? could she divorce me and remarry and stay. im so sick of wha she did to me i cant beleave it.

You should be happy to be rid of her; consider it a blessing. Move on with your life, besides it doesnt sound like she was adding any value to your life, only headaches. Make sure and document any of her crazy acts.

  6. Hey guys, anyone here obtain a PCC from Saudi Arabia? Is there any other way aside from the letter coming from the US Embassy?

What if I ask our Embassy to provide me this letter? Because I really want to get this PCC as soon as possible.

My husband tried to obtain his PCC in Riyadh ahead of time, just to get things organized in a timely manner, but was refused. You MUST get a letter from the US embassy stating that they are requesting the PCC. My husband finally got the letter from the US embassy by showing up there with proof (NVC letter w/ NVC case number RID2009..., USCIS approval letter, Passport and one other form of identification). In addition, we had email contact with a very helpful gentleman at the embassy in the Immigrant Visa Section.

When you do get your PCC, make sure you get it officially translated. There is a government translating office that does this and stamps it with a government seal.

    Best of luck!

  7. Where is the experts people I have one question, I hope you guys can help me. Me and my fiancée we communicate on the phone I use calling card phone from CallingCardPlus.com, but it don’t show her phone number it just show only transactions how much I purchased is that good proof? what you guys think.

    Appreciate your help

Yes, absolutely. I contacted the company that I purchased calling cards from: PPOULET.COM. They were able to retrieve the activity from my calling card numbers in addition to how many I had purchased, the dates and amount of ca$h I had spent! Every bit of info helps in determining your relationship status, remember that "too much" is better than "not enough"

    Good luck

  9. Oh congratulation, and may the Mercy of ALLAH make this a smooth process from here on out.

Our petition was in "administrative processing" according to USCIS, however we were abroad in Bahrain for a few a bit and went to the american embassy there and were informed that it was basically background checks!! My husband is middle eastern and with all the similarities in arab names it's sometimes difficult to weed through i guess? What ever the case, I'm just happy to be done with the first part.

  10. Hi

I'm a December 2007 Filer! I have an I-130 and a K3 pending. We rec'd 1 RFE and it took me forever to respond because my hubby and I were vacationing in Malaysia when the request arrived. MORE DELAYS of course.

My days were filled by work, gym and my big Mexican family! We used to phone cards, skype, internet, but nothing was fulfilling. My hubby became impatient and so now I've relocated temp. to Manama. He works all week in Saudi and I'm alone all day with no job, no kids and (gasp) no gym!!! The big social thing here is the mall, which I have no problem with; I live across the street from a big mall, but on the couple of occasions i've walked there I've gotten cat calls, stares and even a car pulling over to ask me if I needed a ride. I dress very respectful, but don't cover my hair. Needless to say I don't walk there anymore.

Anyhow, I miss home and reading the threads keeps me busy and encourages me because I know I'm in the same situation as many of you.

    Anyone out there in Bahrain?

    --V

  11. You're not alone ... my hubby and I have been waiting for 11 months too!! I've phoned USCIS, contacted my congressman and I've spoken with an officer at the CSC the last 2 days. Both times I was told the system was down! However, 1 of the officers DID say that I may qualify for an expedite, but she wouldn't be able to help me with this until the system was back up. I don't have a medical emergency, so I assume the expedite would be based on GROSSLY delaying my petition???

I've reached my witts end, I want to go home to CALI, but I want to go back with my Husband!!!!! Please, let them approve one of our petitions soon!! :crying:

  12. Helloooo all

My husband is Saudi and we have been waiting since December 2007 for an approval from USCIS. First, of all we got a RFE in June to supply paperwork that he entered "legally on all occasions." The thing is we went to Mexico for our honeymoon and on the way back in he was held up at secondary inspection for many hours! There was some mix-up and eventually the authorities figured out that he was enrolled at UCSD and did have a valid visa. However, this must have come up on the background check and it is taking much too long for ANY response.

So, we have decided that I will relocate to Bahrain to be with him as we wait for a reply. I have taken a Leave of Absence from my job and plan to be away about 4 months.

Does anyone have any suggestions or advice for me?

thanks - everyone here is always so helpful!

  13. reehon, you will be approved monday. hang in there.

Thank you Sasha. I got a touch today also. Hope for an approval soon.

wow after a month of nothing i got a touch today too hope its good news for all of us that been waiting SOOOOOOOO long

    sara

Congrats Sara for a touch. I also had a touch today but still no approval :crying::crying:

Tired of waiting. This country is disappointing me now. :bonk:

Hi, I have a similar timeline and I got a touch today too! Finally, some sign of life ... Good luck!

  14. Cheers,

Police Report will go to NVC along with documents - usually in most countries they are good for one year - but check the MENA thread on this as it is directed to Middle East issues and Good Luck on your journey.

Yes a Police Report will be required and you can get information also from embassy website for your region - you do not need to wait for NVC to send you your package.

    Good Luck

    Thank you!!

  15. Hi everybody,

I'm so confused I don't know if I should have my husband mail me his police report or even if he will be able to obtain one without a request from the embassy in Riyadh? IF -- he can get one, do I send it to NVC along with the other documents to support the DS-230?

We're trying to get all of the required documents / steps completed so we can RUSH (don't laugh) this process. Also, does anyone have any experience with the embassy in Riyadh?

    Million thanks!!

  16. Please CSC, give me an approval.

I can't wait anymore. i starting to loose hope. :crying::crying::crying:

No touch since last 3 days :crying::crying::crying:

    when will i get???????????????

I completely feel you ... My NOA 1 is one day before yours and I am going completely and deliciously insane due to this waiting game! I see so many others that applied after our date and they have already been approved. Everyday I dont see a touch--I melt a little bit more.

    CSC WAKE UP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
