And good luck to everyone else thats waiting!

Good Luck, my fiancee is getting her interview today too!
-
Today is interview day for the K-1. Is she allowed to use her cell phone inside? I want to call her and see how long the wait is, but I don't want her to get in trouble for talking on the phone. She was scheduled for 8 am. I hope everything goes ok. I can't sleep or concentrate on anything right now. Wish us luck please!

I've been using Kayak.com lately and I've been fairly happy the the search results most of the time, but I'm wondering if there is a better site that someone can recommend.
It seems like all the flights are $400 or $500 more to Chiang Mai (CNX) than to Bangkok (BKK). I'm starting to think I might just fly into BKK for the night and then take a morning flight to CNX on either Airasia or ThaiAirways.
Best flight I can find from JFK to CNX is $1428 on Cathay Pacific or $1023 on All Nippon from JFK to BKK.

Does anyone know how often the list on this page is updated?
http://bangkok.usembassy.gov/immigrant_vis...pointments.html
We sent in the packet 3 on March 2nd, so they should have received it the next day. The page says it reflects only appointments scheduled by March 5th, so maybe they hadn't opened the packet yet (as her case number wasn't on the list).

I was reading the story about immigration news on the home page and it got me a little worried.
http://www.visajourney.com/news/2009/02/04...-at-the-border/
Since my finacee is in Thailand, after she gets her K-1 visa I was planning on going to Thailand to pick her up. And rather than both of us go back later (maybe a year or more after already being married) and getting married for her family I thought it would be a better idea to have a wedding cermony in Thailand first (therefore saving a round trip ticket's worth of airfare for her).
It would just be a cermony for her family and friends, and we would not be signing any legal paperwork saying that we are married. Would this in anyway consititute a legal marriage that would prevent her from being able to enter the US?
Any comments?
Thanks.

I'd also like to say thank you very much for that answer (I had that question too)!
I've been freaking out trying to figure out how to get a police record for my finacee (seems like they want you to show up in person and have your fingerprints taken). And she resided in two different states during the time she was here. The New Jersey one would have been easy enough to get, but the one from Texas would have been a problem.

My I-129F packet was received by the Vermont Service Center on September 3rd and the date on my NOA2 is January 14th (133 days)!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
My fiancee received her first packet from the embassy in Bangkok yesterday, so now we are working filling out those papers. We still need to figure out if we really need the police report from the 2.5 years that she lived here.
Good Luck to everyone else!!!

So I've tried to figure out the automated system using the phone number 800-375-5283, but I can't manage to get to talk to a real person. I just get message after message and finally I give up. Can anyone tell me what numbers I have to press to actually be able to talk to someone? Thank you in advance.

I recieved my NOA1 on 9/2/08, but i still havent been able to check my status online...is this normal for the VT service center?
-
So far we have 2 Vermont's and 2 California's for Sep 08
Add another one to the Vermont filers list. My NOA is dated 9-3-08! Has anyone else that got an NOA recently been able to view their case status online? The webpage says it might take as much as 3-4 from the date of recpeit to be able to view the status. Good Luck to everyone else too.

You could also just do a pen correction on the letter and cross out the 'her' and write in 'my'.
I was thinking about this, but then I thought it would just draw even more attention to the mistake.

Hi guys.
This is my first post and I am trying to get my packet ready to send in the I-129F for the fiancée visa. Anyway, I have a letter of intent signed for each of us, but I made a type-o on my fiancée’s letter and instead of saying "my arrival" I left it as "her arrival". It takes about 2 weeks if I want her to mail me a new one to fix the mistake. Also, I had her sign a separate copy of the letter while I was in Thailand visiting her a few months ago (but we decided to delay filing because her parents wanted us to wait a year because 25 is apparently an unlucky number in Thai culture). I wasn't really happy with that copy though, because she didn't sign her name in cursive, she just printed it and it was the only copy I brought with me.
The question is should I: a) Use the copy that is 3 months old with a printed signature, B) Use the newer copy with a cursive signature and a type-o, or c) wait the two weeks to get a new one.
I know it's probably a ridiculous questions maybe I am over reacting a little bit, but if you could give me your opinions I would appreciate it.
Thanks,
Joe
Name Change in New Jersey
in Adjustment of Status (Green Card) from K1 and K3 Family Based Visas
Posted
My wife and I were married on June 27th of this year, she has been in the country about 45 days. We recieved certified copies of our marriage certificate and are preparing to submit the AOS, AP, EAD forms. She already has a SS card from when she was an Au Pair.
My question is about her last name. We both want her to take my last name. I've read some things saying that the marriage certificate is legal proof of a name change even if it does not list her as having my name (which it does not...list only her maiden name). Do I file all the documents listing her last name as my last name, use her maiden name for all the forms, or use her first/my last and put her maiden name in the "other names" box?
Or should we try to go to a SS office and get a new SS card before we file any forms?
If someone can give me a little guidance I would appreciate it.
Thanks,
Joe
