My Fiance is wondering how soon she would be able to travel back to Jamaica after arriving here in the U.S. on a K1 visa and after marring me.
Technically she can go back right away - it's the coming back that would be a problem without AP (Advance Parole). AP typically can take 30-60 days (on average). Is it safe to assume she will simply want to return to Jamaica for a visit?
What is AP? Yes she is worried that she will not be able to visit her family for a long time. But first I have to get her here. The big problem we are having now is at the NVC. The case has been in Administrative Processing since July 29th. VERY SCARY
AP is Advance Parole it's a travel document that allows your fiancee to travel to jamaica before she gets the green card. You're not the only one stuck at NVC my cousin's case has been there since the 1st week of August.
Did someone file a K1 for your cousin? My girl thinks it is because there is a big age gap between us. Do you know why your cousins had been in Administrative Processing so long? Any guesses

Is anyone else out there stuck in the "administrative processing." I have been in it for almost 5 weeks now at the NVC
-
Has anyone been in AP for more than 4 weeks at the NVC?
-
doesn't much matter whether you buy it or not.... it is what it is... we have had people in AR for 3 years... not necessarily at NVC but still in AR...
But I haven't killed anyone recently and neither has my fiance. lol. But seriously, have you known of people being in it for lets say 4 weeks plus and having a positive outcome? The super at NVC I spoke to last night told me that the background check was on my fiance, not me and said that I should not worry, and call back next week as it might be resolved by then. I DO NOT BELIEVE ANY OF THEM

Has anyone been in Administrative Processing at the NVC for more than 4 weeks. If so what was the outcome?
most eventually clear
Yes, but in what time frame? According to NVC, AP has no time frame
that obviously cannot be determined because it is case specific... it could be 4 weeks to 3 years...
I for one don't buy that "no time frame". Everthing in life has a time frame including life itself.

we've been there for two
Pray that you're not in it for more than 4 weeks. They are like robots at NVC. They won't answer any questions or give out any information and when they do tell you something it's contradictory to what the previous person tells you. I have been told it takes: "a few days to a week"; "2 to 4 weeks"; "a week to 10 days"; and of course the ever popular one of " there is no time frame"

Kim and Russ are in AP at NVC right now. She posted this link about security checks which gives some good information

Edit: Oh, I see she replied to your other post about the same.
Thanks. I just looked at it. The waiting is killing me. You two were lucky. Your processing was very fast. Good Luck to you both. Daniel

Can anyone tell me what "Administrative Processing" is at the NVC, how long does it take, and what is the reason for it. NVC has had my approved K1 petition now for over 4 weeks.
I really appreciate your reply. The link you provided was very helpfull. My girl thinks it is because of the huge age differance between us. I am 51 and she is 21. lol. Anyway thanks again and good luck to you both. Daniel

NVC has had my approved K1 visa since July 29th and every time I call they keep telling me it is in "administative processing" which has no time frame to completion. Has any one else had this problem. Daniel
Thanks for responding. I am quite nervous cause it has been over 4 weeks now and they will not give me any information and most people get processed in 2-3 days. Do you think something is wrong? Daniel

Does anyone know if a fiance is pregnant at the time of the consulate interview ( 5-6 months) would she denied entry until the baby is born?
