Hi,
My wife is here now on a K1 visa. When she first arived we went to the SS office and recieved a card in her maiden name. Now four months latter we have recieved her EAD card. So with that we thought we would go get the new card with her married name. So our number is called and I say we are here to get her new card with her new married name. The lady responds and says did you notify immigration of the name change.......This question made no sense so I did not even respond. So she looks at the computer and says ok immigration has not changed her name in the system and I can not do anyting for you. So i say thanks for your help and start to get up. She says wait I will go ahead and submit the paper work but they will not procces it tell you contact immigration. I said she has this card to get a job. The lady says "you havent used this card have you to get a job ....and says it very concerned. I said not yet we just got it....She responds with good because E verification will not work and it will be rejected. So she takes my wifes original ss card and hands us a piece of papper with immigration 1800 number......She says they makes lots of these EAD cards like its some joke to have them and they are investigating.......This visit was turning out to be a joke.......So my wife does not have her SS card and we did not write the number down. She has a interview tommorow and I have a infopass appointment on Monday......Does anyone have any suggestions on this......The visit to SS office was a joke and she took the card with the maiden name on it.......Thanks for any help

Mine took several months. I could not see the case status tell about 80 days after we recieved the noa. I would just check every week or so and hopefully they will show up
-
I kinda had a similar problem and it turned out to be me not sending the birth certificate of the sponsor......So they said poverty level not meet because in my case the required documents were not submitted for the sponsor.......
-
A "written response within 60 days" that does not happen.... I would call and ask to open a service request. Might help and it might not but worth the try.......The RFE is the problem and I am in the same boat. Depending on who you talk to they like to say 90 days past the date of the RFE resumed....That seems to be at worst case....
-
thank you for the responses I made a info pass for Tuesday. Will I be able to talk with an immigration officer about details of my case? I have never had an info pass appointment and was just wondering what to expect.... All I can think to do is bring all the documentation that was already sent and ask them what else they want....
-
In the oringinal post I meant to say I responded to the RFE's by sending:
my moms birth certificate
12 months of bank statements
The confusing part to me is why they are talking about not meeting the poverty level when my cosponsor is not even close to the minimim
They have her w'2s, letter from employer, and copies of pay stubs...
I never sent any w2's for myself could this be a problem?
I should be getting the new RFE in the mail this week and Im sure it will be the same one or both. Do you think I will get better information about exactly what is needed if I make a infopass appointment.....because i really dont know what else to send at this point
-
I recieved these in the mail back on april 1st.....I responded to them only to find out yesterday that another RFE was sent in the mail yesterday. If anyone could please look at them and tell me what you think they are asking if would be of great help. I have not recieved the new RFE but can only guess it has to do with the originals sent.
The information that I sent the first time for the RFE was the petioners birth certificate and 12 months of statements of bank account history. My cosponser which is my step mom makes like 70,000 a year.....So I am really confused why we are still gettting RFE 's at this point...
I included pictures of them and hope you can see them...thankyou in advance

Hi guys thanks for the responses. The 90 days I was talking about was the time I thought the USCIS had to get you the EAD. Right now that is holding my wife up from working. I look at most of these timelines and seems like 60 days is common. So with a RFE recieved april 13th it is now 60 days....thankyou again have a nice day

It seems like we have 3 MSC #'s has anyone been able to get notifications on all 3

Hi everyone. I am currrently waiting for a AOS approvel and it seems to be taking longer than expected. The application was recieved March 16th with a notice date of March 23. We receieved a RFE on 4/1/09 and all information was sent back the following day. The 1-800 number is telling me the recieved the RFE information on April 13. The biometrics was on April 14th.... With that said I have few question if you could please help.
Which date does my 90 days start?
Can I call them and get any help?
I have created a account on the USCIS and all is says is the Rfe information was recieved on April 13th. The receipt number is for the AOS 1-485...Are you able to put in the receipt for the EAD and the appilcation for travel? The reason i ask is because the only recepit number i can enter is the AOS application......thankyou for reading the wait is getting so old....

Hi guys,
Just got a couple of yellow letters in the mail today.. requesting more evidence. So here are my questions.
It has two pages and one box checked say this.
For the household members income to be included in the household income, the household memebers income must have been from a lawful source etc...
I only submitted my mothers income becuase it was like 70,000 range.
Are they wanting my Dads income as well?
On the second page another box checked says this:
Based on the documents submitted with form I-864 Affidavit of support the petitioners /sponsor members did not meet the 125% of the federal poverty line...
Make no sense to me since her income is well above.
I called the 1800 number on the forms to talk to someone and put in my receipt # and it repeats the number entered and says it has no information on that record.....ok not sure what that means?
Does the EAD get held up becuase of this? Biometrics is sceduled for April 14th
Thanks for any help......It was very upsetting getting this letter

Please help does anyone know which form is correct form a sponsor to fill out who is living in the same house.....Im trying to send this out today thankyou
I-864 or I864A
-
I found this on the USCIS website
If you are using the income of persons in your household or dependents to qualify as a sponsor, you must also submit a separate Form I-864A, Contract Between Sponsor and Household Member, for each person whose income you will use.
With that said are they asking for both forms???

Im getting ready to send my Aos package out tommorow and just wanted to make sure one thing. My co sponsor is suppose to fill out the I864A form right? Wanted to make sure it wasnt the 1-864. The co sponsor is someone who lives in my house..I have it ready and just wanted to make sure....Thankyou for any help

I would quess check box d.....and she is the only sponsor so also box e check and first check as well?
Question 2
Part 3 qestion 8
I am sponsoring the principal imigrant I check that box right? And for the co sponsor?
The no box (applicable only in cses with two joint sponsors confusses me........
Question 3
I have seen post regarding sending in Passport Pictures of the Petitioner but I do not see this asked on any of the forms? If i rember correctly i already sent them passport pictures of me in the original package.....
So what is the correct number of pictures?
Question 4
Im trying to get this medical form done. When I call the civil surgeons in my area they all seem to want a full medical done.....All i have is her shot records from a family doctor but they are in spanish and I have no idea if they are the needed shots? So it seems like I dont know which way to go with this.....The only thing I can think of is go to a family doctor have them look at the shot records she brought with her and then have them give her any other needed and then call Dr. L. E. Arnold to have him transcribe them...Does this sound like good path? I have already paid like 300.00 and the thought of paying for another medical doesnt go well.
Thanks again for your help!

Hello all,
Im trying to completer this AOS application and the I-693 part is really confusing me. I have read all the information about it but can someone please help me understand.
Q: Why are K non-immigrant visa holders asked to include a vaccination supplement when filing Form I-485 to adjust status?
Some countries allow K non-immigrant visa applicants to defer their vaccinations until after they arrive in the U.S. If the beneficiary's vaccinations were not completed as part of the visa process, it is necessary to include form I-693- part 1, part 2-vaccination section, and part 5 in the application.
She did not have hers done with the visa procces.........So after reading this I need to get a I-693 right?
Q: Do I need to complete another full medical to adjust status?
Per Section 1245.5 in the Code of Federal Regulations, a medical examination shall not be required of an applicant for adjustment of status who entered the United States as a non-immigrant spouse, fiancée, or fiancée of a United States citizen or the child of such an alien as defined in section 101(a)(15)(K) of the Act and §214.2(k) of 8 CFR chapter I if the applicant was medically examined prior to, and as a condition of, the issuance of the non-immigrant visa; provided that the medical examination occurred not more than 1 year prior to the date of application for adjustment of status.
But then I read this and it seems like they are saying I dont need one
We did not recieve any medical copies and all I have right now is a form from her doctor showing what shots she has had........Thankyou for any help

Tbone,
I just spent over 2 months in Huaquillas and visited Peru a few times as well. My ladys parents live in Huaquillas. We stayed at a hotel on the beach one night in Peru. As far as safe. I would never do this without a local. Hit me up on any questions. I can tell you any details if you would like.

I went back today to ask them for the SS # and the lady was so nice. She said sorry for the problem started changing all the information and said you will have your social in a few weeks. So basically it depends on who you get. Same office same information and one person can do it and the other acts like she has no clue. One of the first times I walked out of a goverment office and felt good. I thanked the lady for her being so profesional.
