  1. A quick update. The Embassy closed for business today, with no decision made. My wife called the CO, but she was busy. The only paper she was issued was a slip of paper to use to re-enter as they had kept her passport. She did bring the requested document back to the Embassy, and was told by the CO that she would be called today with a decision.

Its going to be an anxious weekend as they are closed until Monday regarding immigration issues.

  2. Thanks for the responses everyone. Hopefully some good news is to come tomorrow. They also had my wife ask me to fax a document they claim was not in the file. She took it to the Embassy after receipt, and it sounds like a decision will be made tomorrow. They kept her passport and did not return any documents yet. All good signs to me.

Am thankful to be at this point with all the waiting going on at the CSC and VSC.

  3. My wife had her interview today. Final determination to happen tomorrow. The Embassy interviewer told my wife that her mind is still not made up as of today. She said to expect a phone call tomorrow.

As for the interview itself, the questions were pretty standard. Nothing out of the ordinary. However, she did tell my wife that these American men will marry a foreign woman, then once she is in the US, they will abuse her. She went as far as to have a secretary print out some sort of violence against women act to give to my wife. The interviewer also told my wife that she wanted to be sure that if my wife left me, that she would be able to stay in the USA.

All in all very odd in that regard. It sounds like my spouse will get her visa approved tomorrow, but the interviewer seemed to want to keep doubt in her mind by saying that the outcome was not clear yet. Comments???

  4. The NVC scheduled my wife's interview on Nov 4, 2008. My wife tried to schedule her medical, but the information online about the doctor was not valid, so after a couple weeks she calls the US Embassy in Harare, and they inform her that they make their own appointments. She had to complete the medical, then submit all evidence of our relationship. Later she was informed that her file never made it from the NVC when she went to turn in the evidence. Things are in limbo until the Embassy requests the file to be sent again from the NVC as they said they will not interview her without it.

This process is so frustrating, just wondering if anyone else has dealt with the Harare Embassy.

  5. The latest is my wife was told today that the documents never arrived from the NVC and they won't do her interview until they arrive. NVC confirms today that the documents were shipped by DHL on Oct 10, 2008. They also sent them electronically. NVC says the Embassy must request the docs again. Am working on tracking that shipment with DHL to see when it would have arrived.

The Embassy cancelled the original interview and told my wife they make their own appointments. She complied with their request to complete the medical process and submit proof of relationship and now this latest news. I thought the end was in sight......
