  1. My wife came to the US in 2009 on Fiance visa. we got married and she got green card which now has new last name.

    We are planning to travel to Pakistan in November:

    Her green card is in new married name

    Pakistan passport is in maiden name

    NIOC is her maiden name

    We intend to buy airline ticket via PIA in the passport name ( maiden)

    I am concerned about traveling to Pakistan where she could have difficulty leaving Pakistan due to name difference?

    I am wondering if anyone has had a problems traveling in/out of Pakistan when using the passport in maiden name?

  2. I have a question.... alhamdulilah the interview date has been set.. so now we are working on the medical process. When my fiance received the 3.5 packet, the medical form was not included, where can he get the medical form?

    First of all dear for getting medical report there is no any kind of form.Your fiancee will have to send the packet 3.5 form filled to USEM islamabad.Then they will let u know when to get medical from their specific physcian.

    Good luck :thumbs:

    Well the USEM of ISL emailed me on monday telling me the interview date (they scanned the interview letter), I guess we have to wait for him to get the hard copy? He lives in AFghanistan and calculating the amount of days it took for him to receive the 3.5 packet is 10 days. Also with the elections coming up, it gets pretty hectic. I want to know if it is ok for him to call one of the physicians now to make an appointment even if he doesn't have the medical form

    I also wanted to know if the medical form is usually included in the 3.5 but I guess it is not. Thank you Sibtain

    There is no medical form. you will need your interview letter when you go for the medical.. you said that USEM emailed you a letter, Just print that out and set up an appointment with one of the approved physicians. Follow this Link below for medical exam and how to about getting one done

  3. Kiran just called with the good news. She was approved for K1 visa this morning. and was told that she will get the passport back within 2 weeks (NO AP)..

    Interview: Lady counselor asked just one question: how did you meet? and congratulated Kiran on the visa. WOW

    Kiran made an observation that the couselor was attaching the passport with our file as she asked the question.. Which makes me wonder if the decision was already made.........

    No other proof of relationship was asked for. Didnt ask for photos either. She was out of the embassy by 10:30AM.

    I think we got lucky here. Dont expect all the interviews to go like this.. Be prepared and have sufficient proof to go along.

  4. Thank you for your responses. Infact, I did call last night after staying up late as they only answer phones between 12:30 and 3:30 PM Pakistand time. I was surprised to get in touch with live person in about 3 minutes. They did send the packet 3 to my Finance via CTS courier on April 8th, but she never got it. They will send another one today.

  5. What carrier have you used from the US to send documents to your beneficiaries in Pakistan? My fiance lives in Mirpurkhas, Sindh . it is moderate size city. I am not sure if I should use Fed Ex , DHL or another option? I would appreicate any feedback. Does Amex work from US as well?

    Another questions: so my case arrived in Islamabad last week. I wonder what post method does emabassy in Islamabad uses to send packet 3? Is it regular mail or Amex?

    Thanks

  6. That's what I am hoping :) You can't get that number off the back of your check, so you can see the NOA1 date? Then you don't have to wait :). What day did your petition arrive to CSC? I am trying to figure out when they will cash my check..hopefully Monday..I am horribly impatient haha

    I had sent my petitions ovenright via USPS and it arrived there on Jan 9th. I looked at the back of the cashed check , but it is hard to read.

    I was looking at Igor's list.. I noticed the # of applications filed have declined in the recent months.

    K1 filed (obtained from Igor's list) for the last few months

    Augst 08 =97

    September = 82

    October =78

    Novemeber = 49

    December = 29

    January = 16 so far

    I think this shows a signifciant decline for past few months and let us hope that we will get our approval fast.

  7. I recently sent papers to apply for Fiance Visa. Today I notices that I made the following error.

    for the Question: if any other names uses for Fiance?

    on the i-129 application , I put her name as Jane Doe and none for any other names

    on the G325A , She put Jane Doe as name and Jane Doe Smith for other names used

    Jane doe appears on all of her documents including passport, birth certificates and school certificate.

    Would the application be rejected for this reason?

    Also: error made on her G325A : Her Dad's birday was written as 09/16/08 but the actuall birthdat is 12/01/52. could this cause any problem?

    Thanks

    Manohar,

    When it comes to immigration honestly is always 100% the best policy. If they really wanted to explore it or do some kind of system check it's always possible that your name could come up linked to the old petition. ( I do not know how long they keep records in their system even though the petitions are no longer active, that's something that probably only a USCIS employee would know the answer to )

    I am going to answer you to the best of my ability here in PM, but I do strongly advise you to post this on the same forum, so that you can get a variety of answers and go with the one that you feel is truly the best.

    However, that being said, if it were me, I would definitely answer Yes to this question. I would give the name of the former fiance, place and date you filed, A # (if you ever got one, if not than just put N/A in that area) and for the result I would state something along the lines of :

    "While gathering information for an RFE at the interview, the beneficiary and myself decided it was not in our best interest to pursue the relationship and therefore abandonned the petition. "

    Again people in the open forum may have another opinion than mine that you feel is better or they might be able to give you better wording than I did. I processed CR 1 (marriage) and not fiance, but I really do encourage you to be totally honest with them.

    You could even include a letter of explanation attached to the application/petition detailing what happened 7 years ago. To be honest with you, I know many people (it has happened often in the MENA forum where I spend most of my time) that were married, brought someone here (completed the process) divorced after 1 year and within 1-2 years were petitioning for another individual to come to the US and they were successful in that.

    Just remember, immigration petitions of this nature are your right as a good standing American citizen. I do not think that a petition from 7 years ago is going to affect your process. First it was 7 years ago (not one or two like some people do) and also you never completed the process - You did not bring her here.

    Like I said, I just strongly encourage that you learn from the mistakes of the first interview and give your fiance all the information. Spend a lot of time talking over the process together, sending her emails with scanned copies of what yous end to USCIS/NVC and what they send back to you. Invite her to VJ and even if her English isn't that good in your specific regional forum you will find others who speak both her language and English and can help her in all ways.

    Prepare her 1000%

    I really do wish you the best and again I encourage you to post this question in the forums - VJ is all about everyone learning from each other and there could be someone that comes along with the same problem as you and can benefit from your questions and the answers given to you!!!

    You are welcome I'm glad I could help!

  9. I got engaged 2 weeks ago in Pakistan, Now I am back in US and ready to file I-129F. The issue is: I had filed a I-129F about 7 years ago for a different girl (Madhu) that I was engaged to at that time. Madhu wad declined finance visa at that time bec she didnt have proof of our meeting at the interview. But then I had change of heart and basically left the situation where it was and I never canceld the process with US immigration.

    Now I am ready to apply for fiance visa for a different girl. My questions is that do I need to do anything with the old petition before I file a new one? Or is it automatically assumed canceled due to the fact that it has been over 7 years now?

    another question: When you do really submit proof of engagment such as pictures or egangement certificate from a priest or so? Is it when I initially file the 1-129 F or do they need to be presented by fiance at the time of interview?

    Thanks
