Here´s what I got from the link you´ve sent me:
"On April 21, 2006, this approved or re-affirmed case was shipped to the Department of State for visa processing. If you have any additional questions, please contact the Department of State."
The paper dated May 5 goes like this: " The SDNVC has recently received an approved I-29F petition filed on behalf of your fiancé.This letter is to let you know that within a week the petition will be forwarded to the appropriate visa-issuing post where your visa interview will take place"
Thanks Gary!

I am so sorry Gary, I still get very confused with these dates! What is an RFE? The docs that I have here state the following:
I-797, Notice of Action
Receipt Date: Feb, 2 2006
Notice Date: April, 17
Then Rog got another one, with the RDJ Case Number, dated May 5.
Does that make more sense now?! I´m so sorry for being so lame with documents! I HATE IT!!! HATE IT!

No package received, no calls, no e-mails. No interview date. Starting to get very concerned. I don´t even know if the Embassy in Rio has my case...I´m calling them tomorrow and I´ll let you know what info they will give me. Hope this helps. It´s very disturbing for all of us with our lives on hold. I have to give notice at work (I´m a College professor here) and winter vacation starts in July, ends in August. We were hoping I would be in the US BEFORE August starts... Not to mention the longing... terrible.
Anybody from Brazil who would like to share the experience, feel free to PM me.
Thank you for the amazing work you all do here.
I got quite a start when I saw your message. You have here a NOA1 of April 20 and a NOA2 of May5 from Nebraska. If that were true you would be the only one from Nebraska with a NOA2 after March 6. But then I looked at your timeline and saw that your NOA1 is in Feb and your RFE is in april.
Did you get an approval notice? A paper that said your case has been approved?
You can go to https://egov.immigration.gov/cris/jsps/index.jsp and put your LIN number in there to see if your case has been approved and the date it was approved.

I will sure call them in Rio tomorrow and post the info they give me here, so that others in the same situation can benefit from the information.
You should receive a letter stating your interview date. But everything´s upside down...
The Consulate in Rio mail everything through regular mail.
I only got packet3 ten days after they sent me.
And I got my interview date only because I called them, since I never received Packet4.
That doesn´t matter much now, since it got canceled, but anyways. If the Consulate never contacted you and your petition was sent to them, it makes sense to me that they assume they don´t need to inform you that.
I think they should, but... you know what I mean.
You can avoid all the speculation by calling them at 55 - 21 - 3823-2021
The waiting time is around 30 minutes, but once you provide your case number, they will let you know where your petition is, and if it was one of the 20 recalled.
I´m calling them again tomorrow. I already know they wíll say they have sent my case back and will contact me when they hear from USCIS.
But I wanna know how long they think it will take for USCIS to receive. And where did they sent it to. If it was to NVC or to the VSC directly.
-
Thank you for the info. I am not sure wether my case returned to USCIS, considering that supposedly it was mailed to Rio on the week of May, 5th... I´m still a little confused. As soon as I have any new piece of info, I´ll sure post it here. Now, regarding the interview scheduling, should I just call them to schedule it?! I´ve read on their website that they would contact me to inform the interview date. I´m lost here!!!
It takes less than this. All cases received by the Consulate in Rio were returned to USCIS because of this new Security Checking.
It took only a week for them to receive my case from NVC.
Thing is: don´t wait for a contact.
If you have a case number just call them from Monday to Friday from 13:30 to 15:30 Rio time.
And please, if you find out anything about these recalled petitions post here.
Hope I could help.

Hi everybody,
This is a great website for all of us anxious petitioners and fiances! I´m very thankful for this.
Anyway, I am waiting for ANY contact from the Embassy in Rio. Rog received a letter from the NVC (is this the NOA2?) with our RDJ case number stating that our case would be on the way to the Embassy within the following week, dated May, 5th. I have mailed them the DS 2001 and DS 230 files on May 16. I have heard nothing from them yet. Should I be worried? Is there a reason why the scheduling for interviews is taking longer than expected? What is the avarage waiting time for interview scheduling at the Embassy in Rio? I read on their website that it may take FIVE months...Is that right? Geee, starting to freak out here.
Thank you.

Hi there,
We have a similar situation. Rog received our case number from the NVC in the US dated May, 5th. I have heard NOTHING from the Embassy in Rio since then. Starting to get VERY worried. Anyone knows what is going on?

Hi everybody,
Rog got a letter from the NVC with our case number dated May, 5 2006. I still have not heard from the Embassy...Is this normal?! Should I be worried? I´m starting to freak out about this delay. What is this IMBRA thing?! Anybody, heeeelp!
Lets collect some information about IMBRA effects

I called the Embassy in Rio. They have my case there, not a word about recalls. She said they have already mailed Package 3. I told her I had already sent docs stating I am ready for the interview. She said I will be soon receiving a call from them scheduling the interview date, as soon as they match my case number with the forms I sent them.
Hope this helps.
Keeping fingers crossed for all of us!
