  1. I really don't understand this whole thing with Americans being against Universal Health Care. I'm an American living in the UK. I think the good points of Universal Health Care far out weigh the bad. Yes the waiting lists for anything are long. But if you are employed you can purchase private health care still. My husband works for Seagate Technologies, an American company. He purchases private health care through his employer. We have AXA. For my husband, my son and daughter and I it costs around 512GBP a YEAR for private health care. I get to see specialist without waiting for months. But for your normal trips to the doctor(GP) it is the NHS who pays for that. It really is great if you can still purchase private health care. And it would be a whole lot cheaper on the companies to pay for part of the insurance. Because these private health care companies wouldn't be sucking the life out of people.

My grandfather had a heart attack in January. His room alone costs $98,000 after medicare and insurance they still owe $38,000. FOR JUST HIS ROOM. They are retired teachers. I mean for fucks sake that's about a whole years salary for one of them.

  2. sent mine by priority with tracking number and confirmation! it was only 5$...

and i just stuck to the basics with the evidences...

people i wanna hear ur stories...vent it out...rant it out...

    Why didn't you file DCF?

i could have filed for DCF, my husband would have been with me now, but i couldnt for personal reasons and really stupid reasons and it is a very big misfortune...i still feel bitter about it too.

if you havent read my story...well here it is...i got pregnant and we were not married at that time yet. to add to that, my parents never liked my husband when we were dating...i came from a very conservative religous strict roman catholic family and my husband is muslim and from a conservative religous muslim family. we were both students so imagine the anger the parents felt. but now they all have chilled...my mom takes care of my son and my husband lives with my parents...i could not file for DCF because since we were students, we had no source of income...not even enough money to pay for the $355 filing fee...and i guess it would be considered "shameful" to ask relatives to be co sponsors....

so i made our way...after graduation i left and came back to the united states, found a job and now im confident that we will be together again...

Darlin' you have my thoughts and prayers with you on your journey. I hope it is quick and you and your family is together again VERY VERY SOON.

  3. I've also been wondering the same thing. My grandparents are in horrible help. My grandfather just had a heart attack in January, but he also suffers from an auto-immune disease where his white blood cells kill his platelets. This is causing him to bleed out on a regular basis. He's had 9 units of blood since his surgery. My grandmother who is taking care of him is close to cripple with rheumatoid arthritis. Her back is out and she's having to bathe him. It's sad that I am willing to move across the pond to help them and their own kids don't even call them to check on them weekly. But I need to get home to take care of them. If I filed my I130 DCF with a cover letter like you would give your senator for the expediated paperwork, do you think that would work?

  4. From what I understand, if the co-sponsor lives separately from you, he will only support the beneficiary; if you all live in the same household, the whole household counts in the poverty line determination (for example in our case, we didn't need a co-sponsor, but my USC husband had to show he could sustain all four of us- two USC babies-, as we will all be living in the same household obviously.

So if we lease a place before we move back the co-sponsor will only have to support my hubby but if we all live with my grandparents temporarily they'll have to support us all? If we live with both grandparents does one have to support the other PLUS us or just us and themselves?

Where can I find the poverty guidelines? I think I keep over looking them.

Nevermind I found the guidelines. http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/info/info_1327.html

  6. I used to know this but after all the times we've stopped the process before we ever begin I have forgotten.

When you use a co-sponsor do they support just the non-USC? I live in Northern Ireland with my husband and two kids. Both of my kids have US citizenship as do I, obviously. My husband is the non-USC. Does the co-sponsor sponsor just him or all of us? Because I haven't worked since I lived here. I'm a stay at home mom. And before we moved here I just worked part time jobs because I was in school. I have no real proof of domicile in the US but that won't be hard to get and I have no US accounts or anything.

    Thank you.

Sorry if that is very rambling or spastic. I'm really homesick(after living out of country for 3 years) and I just want to get home.
