  1. Hi,

I had interivew yesterday under CR1 catagory at Mumbai Consulate. That what I experience at consulate.

Enter at 7:15 security checking done waiting for Fingerprints.

    At 7:30 Fingerprints done.

Then wait for half an hour for call to return my original documents.

When she (Indian Lady) called my name at window 10 I went there she didnt ask me any questions not even asked for interpritor. (for Gujarati)

At 11:20 Am Immigration Officer called my name at window 9.

    Greet with Good Morning.

First he asked to take oath.

    Then he started questions.

    1) when you get married? (translator spoke in gujarati)

    2) is your arranged marriage or love marriage. ( I answered in English before translator asked in Gujarati)

    3) Translator asked me you know english then why did you ask for translator. I said I havent had conversation about translator with that Indian lady officer. Officer said OK. U know english and can you answer in english. I said yes.

4)Have you had photo with your wife except any kind of ceremony?

    5) when you saw your wife last time?

And then with smile he said your visa has been approved.

    Thanks and Bye.

I went out within 4 minutes.

Really its very good experice except long wait for interview.

I hope this will be helpful for you people.

    Thanks

    Congratulations !!!!!!!!!!

  2. I know that this entire process can suck and is very very frustrating. I can't imagine what it would be like to be away from your daughter for such a long time. There are many cases here of people who do hand in the reqested paperwork and they get the visa within a few weeks - so not all hope is lost. It's just another (annoying) hoop to jump thru. You are so close to the finish line in this, so don't give up!

I think I follow now - you are the husband and the beneficiary? And your wife is the petitioner and USC? I take it she was living with you for awhile recently in order to be able to apply as DCF? Was she at the interview?

Try to make the affidavits as thorough as possible - I don't think there is any harm in adding additional photos if you have them. Do either set of parents have an issue with the marriage? If not, having them make statements will be quick and easy. Just be honest and tell your story.

Thanks 4 cooperating ....well yea my wife was here in india for 3 months for DCF...well she wasnt with me at the time of interview....USCIS told me that she can leave after petioning the case....well she went back coz our daughter is bak in US ,,,,my mother in law was takin care of her.....due to some reasons we couldnt get her passport...so my wife came alone to india,,.,,well im sooo frustated right now...im not gonna give up....well my wifes sending me the documents which we need to submit....I am gonna do tht soon....

But the problem is they are asking abt my voters ID card and last five years of voters list...

well i just got my voters ID card in begining of this year...and i dont have any records of voting of last five year....so im confused what should i say them about not having voters list....but i can show my voters ID card....

well in immigrant visa or DCF cases they take long to issue the visa...for 221g...do i have to go to embassy again for interview??

somebody told me tht in Immigrant visa cases they dont take long time to issue the visa....for 221g its a fast process for immigrant visa applicants....well....IM SUPER CONFUSED!!!

well heard lots of cases have 221g in new delhi...why is that....cmon..they dont beleive us or what......its been 1 yr and 6 months i been married..and...they still want my more realtionship proof..well thts seriously ridiculious...

    seriuosly this situtaion is ######!!!!!!!...........

My wife also received a 221g from new delhi and was asked the very same things in the 221g as you.she got her voters ID only recenlt and never had one earlier just like you. Please go to the election board and ask for a form which has your name, photo and address...its called "extract of the electorial board"My wife got hers done recently and is going to VFS on monday with all those required docs.Let me know, if you require any help.good luck

  4. OMG! I am sorry!

I was there at the embassy that same day with my husband. Maybe I saw her there. There were two women behind us when he was getting his fingerprints. If your wife had an interview time around 0745, I might have seen her. I would just send in the information that they asked for. It sounds like you have everything. Keep following up with the embassy afterwards too for an updated status. Hopefully, they will approve it soon! Keep the faith!:thumbs::thumbs:

Do as quickly as possible. However, I believe since you are a CR1, there is no expiration date as a K1 or K3 which are 6 months after the USCIS approval.

my wifes interview was at 9 45 am.

thanks to all who responded and for your kind words.good luck to you all

  5. Does the relationship letter, passport pages, and beneficiaries parents letters all have to be notarized???

Packet 3 & 4 from Mumbai consulate does not say notarized. Does it really have to be??

yes they all need to be notarized.i thought making a photocopy of the US passport was not allowed.I had done that once before and it was returned to me and said that I was not allowed to make photocopy of the passport.Anyways I will be doing it as per instructions.its a shame i had all documents and photos with me at the interview and the CO refused to see them.

  6. Hello Everyone!

My husband's interview in New Delhi on the 15th of Jan went well. Visa approved and he received it yesterday!:dance::dance::dance:

We were in there at 7:30 am and out by 10:15 am. The interviewer only asked him some questions how we met and about the wedding. Did not ask to see anything and we had just about everything under the sun. Tooled all that evidence from the US to the interview for nothing. Not that I am complaining. It was just alittle strange to me after hearing from everyone else.

Maybe since we sent alot of information with the I-130 is the reason they did not need to see anything. That is my only guess. So everyone who hasn't filed yet, it might help to over kill with the USCIS to save hassle during the interview.

We are flying back on the 24th to the US together!!!

Thank you everyone for your help!!!!:thumbs::thumbs::thumbs::thumbs:

    congratulations to you

  7. HI all............... I am new to this website ..........can someone PLEASE tell me generally how long it takes for the interview date to be set up once nvc completes case? My case was completed on Dec29 2008 and i still havent received anything. I know it may sound like im being impatient but I got married in jun 2007 and am still waiting for my husband to get here. Its a shame it takes this long for a US citizen to bring their spouse over.

Where can i can to get info about the interview date. I called the visa bulletin number on the NVC website but that is sooo hard to understand.

I called the nvc info line and all that says is "case was completed on 29dec2008 pls allow 8 weeks for further info"

    PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    THANKS IN ADVANCE

you should hear something from them anyday now...good luck

  8. My wife and I are both very dissapointed as she received a 221 g white paper asking for more relationship proof. When she was interviewed she asked the officer to look at her emails, chat logs and photos but he said " no, not right now" and the 221 g consists of the very things she was carrying with her to the interview. We are both very depressed and feel extremely low at this point. She was interiewed at New delhi india on the 15th of jan 2009.the 221 g consists of the following ....

you are requested to submit proof of relationship to include but not limited to :

notarized explanation of how and when you first met and why you decided to get married

itemised phone bills, emails and/or postmarked letters or cards showing correspondence

photos of you and the petitioner before, during and after the wedding

notarized copy of your and your husbands passport

voters ID card and the voters list for the past 5 years for the benificiary

notarized statements signed by the applicants/benificiary's parents discussing their views of this marriage

My wife was given back her original documents submitted like marriage certificate . bitrh certificate, passport etc.

They did not ask for the VFS receipt but kept the medical report envelope and gave her back the unopened xray report.

please advice...any thoughts would be appriciated.thank you

  9. Yes it is correct that your wife needs to be present at the time of obtaining the PCC from the passport office at Delhi. My wife had hers done in like 2/3 days. She will need to sign a document when they issue her certificate from the passport office. If her passport was issued in delhi then she has to apply for a cerificate from delhi itself, does not matter if it was not issued or renewed in 6 months.

    Good luck.

  10. My wife got her PCC from Delhi police station and the passport office in about 10 days. She wrote an application to both these places and submitted ID proofs and passport size photos of herself. The police station letter was addressed to the SHO and the passport office one was addressed to the RPO.Hope this helps.Good luck
