  1. We sent our Report of Marriage and Passport Amendment form for my wife to the Philippine Consulate in San Francisco on December 8th, and received her amended passport back yesterday. Pretty quick turnaround considering 3 days transit time on each end for Express Mail. I was expecting a new data page in her passport with her married name, but all they do is stamp the back of the data page and handwrite in the married name. That is for the new brown machine-readable passport. If you have the green one it has to go back to the Philippines to have a new passport printed, which probably takes much longer.

  2. If the culture was positive they would have called you by now, so that is a good thing. We had the same circumstances, and the extra 2 month wait drove me crazy, but everything worked out, and it will for you also. Just be patient. After our test results came back after the 2 month wait, St Lukes made my fiance redo the parts of the exam that she had already completed, which took another 3 days. Then, they scheduled her interview at the Embassy 3 weeks away instead of the 2 business days the Embassy web site says. Also, during that time, the I-129F petition expired. Even with all the wait and the petition expiring, everything was fine, and it will be with you also. We just waited patiently, and the consular officer automatically revalidated the petition. No problem. Take care and God bless.

  3. My husband called USem this 11:14 this am ( after my numerous attempts to call ) and talked to Grace. After asking for some information, she said we got approved on the 12th .He couldnt believe it and asked : Did you just said we got approved? And when Grace said yes, he was so elated he asked her if he can hug her . That made Grace laughed and after my husband told her she was famous.

What a relief, after all our worries ,and our what ifs ,For me, it's like a tranquilizer that worked wonders "somehow,(hehehe) knowing that were getting closer to being together again and would finally start our lives together, for lifetime.

Im in ecstatic, more so /will be very when visa are n our hands.

We will call back on Friday to know more updates, to know if they'll let us pick up our visas too.I wish no more delays :)

    Congratulations!

  4. Well I have a bit of experience with this, and we get similar winters here in maine with a month or two of sub zero temps. Spent some time with my fiance in Europe recently. We took one or two pics indoors of me in a tshirt and her in a winter coat. That's what she was wearing around the house when the fleece wasn't enough. Here's what I'd get. it might seem like overkill but I've never seen anyone so cold while wearing normal winter clothes, and it was barely even freezing. I can hardly imagine what she'd be like with going from 30 degrees to -20. And for those of you who think snow is cold, it isn't. Cold is when it's too cold to snow....makes freezing feel downright warm. Personally I'm gonna try to get out of here before arrives. She didn't much care for the cold and I'm tired of it myself.

    Electric blanket

    Long Johns

    fleece pants

fleece shirts/sweaters(multiple, so she can layer them...indoors)

    normal coat

great big fluffy down coat, as thick and long as you can find

    snow pants

    fleece neck warmer or balaclava

hats. one normal and one super thick wool

good gloves, and maybe even mittens 'cause they're warmer.

    good big waterproof boots

    warm slippers

    tech wicking socks

    thick wool socks

nice leather waterproofable boots dressy boots for around town

big waterproof snow boots for ploding through snow

those little elastic crampons for you can quickly slip on over your boots

That's everything I can think of. Probably not all completely necessary, but most of it would be get used and appreciated.

    Excellent list.

I will plan on getting as much as I can before she gets here.

I have found that buying clothes is almost impossible as she is such a tiny girl. I got shirts once before in the smallest size I could find and when she sent pics it looked like extra large on her... :crying:

My mahal will be arriving here in Alaska next month. It will still be very cold. I will borrow a coat, hat, and gloves to take to the airport when I pick her up to keep her warm just long enough to make it to REI to buy her some things of her own that will fit.

  5. congratz!! Did you guys pick up the visa?

No. She paid the delivery fee to DELBROS. They said it should be delivered within 7-10 working days. I hope everybody has a good experience at their interview also. Thank you God!

  6. Hi. Can anyone who has recently completed the guidance counseling and CFO registration requirements for visa holders from the Philippines provide me with the detailed step by step process for getting this done? From what I can find on the CFO website, it looks like my fiance will have to attend the guidance counseling at PRISM, then after she gets the visa go to the CFO office in Manila for the passport stamp. When she does that, does she have to attend the PDOS at CFO, or is the guidance counseling at PRISM all she needs to get the stamp? Thanks in advance for any help you can give.
