  1. Hi I am U.S citizen now. I got the required docs. Like my birth certificate my parents marriage certificate. Now the last thing they are asking for proof that I am a U.S citizen. So according to the I-130 instructions they are saying send a copy fo the u.s citizenship ceritifcate. On the certifcate itself it saids it is illegal to make a copy. So what to do in this case?

Congratulations on your citizenship. I found some information for you on the USCIS.gov Website. Hope it helps... Also, here is the link to InfoPass where you must make an appointment so that you can take the original and copy to them so that the official can verify your identification and may certify your copy. But please read the information below that I cut and paste from the website:

    Good Luck!!

How Do I Obtain Certified True Copies of a Certificate of Naturalization?

When a naturalized US citizen needs to have a Certificate of Naturalization “authenticated” by the U.S. State Department for use by Foreign Governments/Embassies, USCIS can copy the document and certify it as a true copy. “Authentication” is a term used by the U.S. Department of State and other Governments to describe what USCIS refers to as Certified True Copies. When you require a Certificate of Naturalization to be authenticated, be sure to use the term "Certified True Copy."

If you have the original document to be certified, you must make an appointment with your local USCIS office by using the InfoPass Appointment Scheduler on our website. When you go to your appointment, be sure to bring your original naturalization certificate and a copy of it. Also bring another form of photo identification, such as a drivers license or passport. A USCIS officer will review the documents and may certify the copy, if the officer can confirm your identity and status as a naturalized citizen.

The U.S. Department of Homeland Security, U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services, will provide Certified True Copies and return these along with the supplied documentation to the requester. USCIS cannot act as an agent of the U.S. Department of State by accepting fees on behalf of other government agencies, or forwarding documentation to any other government agency. All documentation coming from a requester, along with any documentation supplied by the Department of Homeland Security, will be returned to the requester.

To obtain the services of the U.S. Department of State, Authentication Office, you should use one of the following methods:

    Write to:

United States Department of State, Authentication Office

    518 23rd Street, NW

    Sa-1 Columbia Plaza

    Washington, DC 20520

    202-647-5002

  2. hi guys! were home now... from my daughter's CRBA interview!! :D

so here goes the story..hehehehe we left here in Cabanatuan 5am and exactly 830 we got into ACS and waiting for our name to be called...my baby was so talkative that she got all the attentions of all the people inside the area and they liked her hairdo..hehe i intentionally did not clip her hair so she will look like whats on her picture i passed... ^_^ our name was called exactly 9:00 and with the pre-screening,thank god it went smooth...i think i was just a little nervous coz he was asking some papers and i was like "momy where is the envelop?" ooooo im with my mom,she was holding lizzy for me hehehe... the guy asked for pictures but i said its in the album i brought and its big that cant fit in the window so he just said that keep it and just show it to the consul later.. he just asked me few things like when we got married? he left right after we got married???? where is his assignment and i said he's in Colorado and been in the service for 4 years now.. then he told us to sit down in the waiting area and wait for our name to be called again.... so while waiting,he got a chance to minggle with other applicants there and i saw Antonio Aquitaña! tag team of Wendell Ramos??hehehe if u know them..

1030 our named was called again and the nice lady greeted us and i say hello and she saw my baby and she was like " hi baby, ur so cute!" (i told my baby to keep talking to get the lady's attention ... :D) and the interview went fine and okay and asked the same question plus on how we met?has he been ot of the country? and more on the relationship and involves...

but due to lack of evidence of my husband's presence in the states, she asked me to send some documents again and once i did we will get her CRBA and passport in 2 or 3 weeks...

    so was it an approved????

anywho, i would like to thank all the sis who helped me with this.... so right now im just waiting for my case to be completed and soon prepare again for an interview...and i guess much more tension....Ü

Congratulations!!!!! Ang cute ng baby mo.... You have a beautiful family.

  3. Hi Everyone!! I'm new and in a different situation. First of all I'd like to say "Congratulations to all that have been approved!!" and "Good Luck to those in process!!" My dad is actually awaiting for his fiance's interview at the USEM in Manila, Philippines.

My husband and I are both US Citizen's and are planning a trip to the Philippines. We are also expecting our first child. As a first time mother I am paranoid that while abroad I may give birth to my daughter. I was reading the questions/replies/comments for the CRBA section and it gives a lot of information which is really clear. So my understanding is if my daughter is born abroad I should then fill out a CRBA form along with a Passport Form and include the documents being requested for each, correct? Then we will have to go to St. Lukes Hospital for DNA testing? I myself am actually planning on staying in the Philippines for a while since it is my first visit there and my grandmother is not well so I want to spend as much time as I can with her. If I give birth when my husband has returned back to the US how will he be able to sign the birth certificate? Does he need to come back? Will he need to be there for the interview at the Embassy? Should I also bring my medical records for prenatal care from the US just in case? I've only seen the doctor twice and have decided to see an unlicensed midwife since we don't have insurance and I want to keep my birth as natural as possible.

Sorry for all the questions... as a first-timer on here you can see I blab a lot, but you can never be too prepared right?

Thank you everyone... Have a wonderful day!!
