  1. Hi guys, hope your all well.

so last year i had my k1 visa granted in november. i moved over in december only to find my fiance was cheating on me. so in january i came home. we never married, i came home to scotland before my 3 months ran out. i returned my I-94 when i left the country. my question is...6 months on, am i allowed back in the states for a two week holiday? it would be to a differant state. (i moved to new york but want to visit maryland).

thanks for your time, in return im more than happy to answer any of your questions on my experiance with the k1 process.

  2. Hey, Thanks everyone! I got here ok, apart from a scary plane ride and a two hour wait at the border while one of the border dudes figiured out what a k1 visa was! Im soooo glad to finally be here with josh. Today will be my first thanksgiving.

julez - I LOVE the snow!! I cant wait for the proper hardcore snow. hehe. huzzah!

  3. Congratulations and good luck!

I have a similar short space of time next week between interview and flight. Did you pay for the standard delivery for the visa - was there the option to pay more for a faster delivery?

I payed the standard delivery fee. Theres no option for a faster delivery (only to have it delivered before 12pm, 1pm etc). Mines arrived at 11am this morning and im all the way up here in scotland. My medical results didnt arrive at the embassy until tuesday (my interview was monday). So that delayed it more than normal. The envelope that it arrived in said it was a one day delivery.

  4. So Yesterday i got a text saying my visa is being delivered today. My flight leaves from Glasgow at 9am tomorrow, My POE being Toronto, then driveing down from toronto to Buffalo. Im soooo excited, i cant belive i get to see my man tomorrow!!

I almost didnt make it though, i honestly though my visa wasnt gonnna arrive on time. Also, my gran passed away last week. So everythings been put on hold. Ive got so much to do today.

I just wanted to thank everyone here for thier kindness and thier willingness to help out each other. Thanks to everyone who's helped me out. VisaJourney has kept me sane through the whole process!!

    next step....AOS!!

Good luck to everyone whos still waiting. Ive got my fingers crossed for ya!!

  5. I was approved on monday (huzzah!) and already stupidly had my flight booked for next wednesday. My visa still hasnt arrived. I called the embassy 'operator assisted' line and the guy was quite rude. He just gave me a row for booking my flight! I called the courier service. Nothing. I called my airline and they wont change my flight. I did a search on here and someone said somthing about a DOS number? whats the DOS?

Its wierd because my fiance called immigration over there, yesterday to organise picking up my shipping (they wouldnt let him pick it up without me having my visa approved. even though it was addressed to him. go figure!) and they have it on thier computer that everythings approved etc.

Im probs panicing for no reason, I have monday and tuesday still for it to arrive. Its just a bit too close for comfort! Has anyone else been in this position? How did it turn out?

  6. Good luck FeeandJosh for tomorrow!! November is a quiet month.

Very best of luck Fee and Josh for tomorrow, I'm sure you'll get approved!!

    Stuart

Thanks guys!! I was approved 'pending medical'!! i had my medical last thursday and it wasnt gonna reach the embassy until the day after my interview. Overall it was a good experiance....apart from the four and a half hour wait for the actual interview! ill post my review tomorrow. im soooo tired!!

  7. Fee, why in God's name did you agree to pay that!!???? Obviously I didn't need the HPV, but they did try to flog me the MMR and the Tdap for an exorbitant sum. Last week, I walked into my local surgery and go them done for diddly squat - and I'd implore everyone else to do the same!!

Damian, It was a personal choice with lots of reasons behind it. Doesnt mean everyone else has to do it. Plus, The NHS refused to supply me with the HPV. :P

  8. Hi Everyone! I went for my medical yesterday and tought id share my account with you. ill apologise in advance tho, for my dyslexic spelling! hehe.

So Tuesday the 12th i traveled from Edinburgh to london with easy jet. which took all of 30 mins! we took the bus from luton to victoria and stayed in the grapevine hotel there. PLEASE dont ever stay there! i couldnt go in the bathroom without my throat burning from breatheing in the mould. yuck!

Anyways. the morning of the 13th we got the tube to bond street, got some starbucks then walked to find the medical place (Bendnick mansions). my appointment was at 1.10pm and i got there at 12.50pm. i buzzed to get in and they told me to go away, there were closed for lunch! hehe. so i went back for 1pm and they let me in.

I got to reception and a blonde receptionist, who clearly hates her job, clarcked me in. i then waited in the posh waiting room. While there i filled out another form, basically the same but more detailed form thats in packet3. I handed it in just as the nurse called for me. she offered me the vaccinations i needed and told me it cost £340 all together!! I couldnt belive it! but i decided to take it because she documented it all together more professionally than my doc would. so i got three shots: tetnus, mmr (even though i was already immune to rubella) and the HPV (which hurt like a ######!). After that i went straight for my xray. The dude doing it was hilarious. Really nice and made you feel at ease. the first xray wasnt clear enough so i got it redone. meanwhile the old xray was on the light box and i saw it was totally clear (i used to work in a chest ward, so i saw those xrays everday!). After that, because i had robe on covering my top half, i was sent to a seperate waiting room.

From there the doctor called me in. I cant tell you enough of how nice and chilled this doctor was. She was so down to earth! The first thing she addressed was my history of depression. I had a letter from my doc saying it was in the past, reated succesfully and i wasnt any risk to myself or anyone else. she asked me a few questions about it. she was reallu understanding about it. I then had to do the eye test, which was easy peasy. Then came the 'are you really a girl' part of it all. i was asked to de robe. All i heard was 'who the hell did your shots?!'. i explained who it was. i looked at my arm and there was blood everywhere! All down my arm. So she applied pressure and put a new dressing on. and went on with the exam and asked me to drop my trousers! As soon as i got then down, she asked for them to be put back up again. So its not intrusive at all. she then went on to cheack my tummy, throat, eyes, skin, glands, Blood pressure and finally took blood for the AIDS test. The doc wrote up my notes and it was time to leave! ....After paying the £340 pound!

overall it was a good expreiance. no complaints.

I then went and discovered the amazingness of camden town!! I didnt want to leave! Any ways, i hope that report was helpful!

  9. hey, ive booked my flight to toronto. one way. then will drive down through the border to buffalo. (its the cheapest and quickest way!). will they let me in when i only have a one way flight? will my k1 visa be enough to prove i wont be staying in canada. or do i need to fork out for a return flight? im totally panicing, any help would be amazing!

  10. what were knightsbridge tring to find out? current and pending conditions? or do they do this for everyone? (this is the first of me knowing that!)

from experiance, working in a hospital as a nurse. the NHS is very strict with passing on of information because its confidential. most places (such as my own GP's clinic) need written permissionfrom the patient to pass on information. i had to give written permission for my vaccination records to be photocopied for me taking to the medical! and yeah, alot of places charge you the admin fee. thats quite common. sorry im not much help!
