  1. My husband's visa was approved yesterday!!!

He has to wait until the end of the week to get his passport back with the visa on it.

We are so excited and super relieved that he will be here before our baby is born =)

The VJ forum with all its guides and member help was very important for our speedy approval.

    Congrats!

waithatter-It's good to see that you were able to convert the interview from K3 to CR1. We tried to do the same but it did not work. Fortunately, our CR1 was expedited due to our pregnancy. Otherwise we would still be waiting until April for the interview.

I hope the interview goes well!!!! =)

congratz on your visa and hope for him to be there for the baby's birth. Best Wishes on a great life together.

Congratulations...Have a good life together, with full of love and happiness...Sigh all I need to do is to congratulate people here mmmmm when would they congratulate me??Hehehehehe just kidding here....

Thanks. I'll keep my eye on the forum and I hope to congratulate you soon as well =)

  3. Yes, you may simply adjust status. You've waisted the $470 you paid during the NVC stage but unless you want to travel back home, you may simply pay the $1010 and adjust status.

I have another question about this situation.

What happens to the CR1/IR1 case that has been completed at NVC and you are already here with the K3 visa? Do you have to ask the NVC to keep your case here and not forwarded to the embassy? Is your approved I-130 still valid so that you can adjust status?

I am confused how would you be able to adjust status...

  4. Hello,

I have a couple of questions about filling out the DS-230. My husband is the beneficiary and I am the petitioner.

Question #14: Name of Spouse (Maiden or Family Name)

Should I write my maiden name or my married name?

My married name is my legal last name but my marriage certificate contains my maiden name...I am totally confused about this one

Question #6 Place of Birth (City or Town), (Province), (Country)

Bolivia has Departments equivalent to States in the U.S., then there are Provinces, then Cities/Towns.

I don't know if he should write the Department or the Province in the space for Province???

  5. I have a couple of questions about the IV package to be sent to NVC,

The package consists of the following:

    DS-230 (part I and II),

Original/Certified Copy of Beneficiary's birth certificate,

    Original/Certified Copy of Marriage Certificate,

    Original Police Clearance Certificate (s),

Photocopy of Biographic page of Passport

    2 photos

Q1. Do we also have to send a photocopy of all the above documents in the IV package (sending 2 copies)? I am confused by LingChe's guide about the photocopy requirement.

Q2. Do we need to send 2 or 4 photos in the IV package?

  6. Hello fellow VJers:

Today I received both NOA2 for the I-130 and I-129F. My husband and I are soooo happy that we finally got the approval. We are hoping that the process moves faster from now on so that he can here by the time our baby is born

I started reading all the other threads to get my bearings on what to do next.

Good luck to all those still waiting.

    Wow another August filer! Congrats!

    Thanks

I hope more people get approved this week!!

  7. I have a kinda stupid question...sorry I just totally blanked out with what i need to do next

For the CR 1 part, we have to submit the DS-3032, I have to pay the AOS and then we have to send the IV-Packet which consists of DS-230 part I and II to NVC along with marriage certificate, police records, birth certificate, photocopy of passport, etc to NVC?

For the K-3 part, the consulate send my husband the packet 3 which includes DS-156, DS-156K, marriage certificate, birth certificate, photos, etc etc...and then once they received, the appointment is scheduled, right?

Thank you for your help, and sorry for asking such a basic question.

NVC part you are correct. K3 part you are some what right. consulate sends packet 3 which contain checklist of items you need to collect for interview, you dont send those item as packet 3. Yes, you are correct once consulate receives packet 3 they schedule interview date.

    Thanks !!

  9. We received both I-130 and I-129F NOA2 hard copies yesterday. Apparently, both were approved on Jan 16th. I called NVC and got the NVC Case # for both applications. I was told that the K3 was forwarded to the consulate.

We are in the process of getting all our paperwork together for the NVC and I had a question about income taxes. I have not been able to file the 1040 for 2008 income because I haven't received my W-2 from work, is it okay to submit the I-864 with income return filed in 2007, 2006 and 2005?

What have you all done so far?

Any help is greatly appreciated. Thank you
