  1. hi Everybody,

    i have a questions about Ds-230

i did file for mom and dad , 1-30 was approve , i 864 was send and accept it. so my queston is

Can i sign the first part of Ds230 instead of my parents since they assign me to be to be their agent? Any replay with be a big help, Thanks NEla

Nope you cant, your parents should be the one to sign the DS 230. I was the agent for my mom too just to let you know. She had her interview in the embassy already.

  2. I just mailed DS 230 package back to NVC for my parents. Let's assume that no extra request of evidence is needed, so how long will my parents receive the interview date? Thank you so much in advance.

I mailed the DS230 for my mom on 08/25/2009.Received a replied email from NVC Sept 11 '09 stating that they received all the original and photocopies of the documents that they asked. Along with it ,is the appoinment date of my Mom's interview in Manila US Embassy on OCt 8,2009.

  3. I think they only accept cash in peso.

She can stay at Cherry Blossom, I heard it's nice to stay there, just walking distance to St. Lukes...

Like what I said, that's how they do it now... You will be the one to schedule when you can have the medical.

My daughter went there last wednesday, arrived 2pm and finished her first day at 430pm...

The sooner the better as Haole said.

Hi! yes, your mom can just go there and have her medical.

Just bring that appointment letter, her passport, pictures 2x2 with white background and money for medical fees.

I would suggest to go early like 530am, they open at 6am...not middle in the morning, or rather go there around 1pm, to avoid the long queue...

Hope you dont mind I have another question to ask... After her interview do you know how soon can she have a visa?

Hi I am a USC I filed my mom's petition on March 11,2009.I just received an email from the NVC that my Mom's interview will be on Oct 8,2009 at 8:30am at US Embassy Manila, Philippines. My concern is it doesnt give me a specific date & time about her medical exam. Instead stated that I need to go to www.immigrantvisas.state.gov under the interview preparation link. Of course I did that! And I type in MNL in the panels pysicians list and it'll give you medical examination instruction. It clearly stated that applicants are examined in a first come first serve basis. So does that mean my mom can go to St lukes extension Clinic without making an appointment or just go there as a walk in?Plz help! Im so confused....

Didthey recenlty changed it? Coz as I can rmemeber with mine before I received a separate appointment ltter for the medical exam and Interview at the embassy.

They usually require a week before the interview so that if there will be problem with her medical they can easily adjust the interview schedule.

Sooner your mom goes to St. Lukes the better.

Have her go after 12 noon and she'll beat the crowd and get done faster.

I was thinking of sending her to Manila on Oct 5 since her interview at embassy would be on Oct 8, at 8:30am, shes coming from Mindanao

Ic thanx so much for answering all my questions... I do appreciate it! One last thing, do you know where is the best hotel to stay near SLEC? Do they accpet credit card for the medical examination?

  7. im from phils too.. i will have my citizenship test june 17th. and as soon as i have the certificate on my hand i will petition my mom also. my question is": Do i need to submit my mother's birth certificate together with the I-130? or just MY birth cert showing her as my mother?

Just your birth certificate for I-130 but when u submit the DS230 you have to submit your mom's original birth cert

  8. hi everyone! Just have my oath taking ceremony today. Yeheeyyyy!!! At last huh!

Just wanna know if I should submit the original copy of my naturalization certificate in filing I-130 Petition for my mom. Aside from the fees and my birth certificate what other documents do I need to submit? When am i suppose to submit affidavit of support? Should I enclose it with my I-130 application or should I submit it thereafter when I receive a notice of action?

Please help me on these.. anyone?? I would greatly appreciate your answers to my dilemma.

    Thank you so much!

NO ,donot send ur original certificate of citizenship, only send photocopy of this certificate and photocopy of ur ur birth certificate, make sure it mentions ur mother`s name on it,to prove that beneficiary is ur real mom.No other document is required at this stage unless DHS ask for further evidence.send these two photocopied documents with complete I-130 form with required fees check,do not need to send affadavit of support yet.

thank you so much for your help!! I appreciate it a lot! I will send my application tomorrow.

  10. Hi I just received the notice of action stating the date and time of my interview (application for naturalization). It will be on Nov 4, 2008 @ 10Am. Unfortunately I have to live the country for a week and I wont be back until NOv 9'08. Does anyone knew how to reschedule an appoinment and what process to take? I really dont know what to do. Your help is greatly appreciated. Thank you all!

It states EXACTLY what to do on the letter--Return the letter (ensure u make a photo copy for urself) and mail it to the USCIS listed on the letter (place where your going for the interview) on mine it is on the bottom left. As well state why you can't attend and request a new date. its that easy!! I had to do it for my Biometrics appt and it all worked out. But as i stated earlier, the instructions are lsited right on the notice they mailed you, was near the end of the 1st paragraph!!

 Thanx for your help.. by the way, to request for a new date should I chose the date myself or will they do it themselves.

  12. I just called the USCIS today to verify if my mom could take my younger brothers. The first time I called they said my Mom needs to inform the consular officer at the time of her interview,if she could take them with her, now, its up to the consul if he/she would grant visa for my younger brothers. It's a matter of luck .. i guess! On the contrary when I called back the second time, just to make sure that I was given the correct information. They give me a completely different answer. Now I am confused  . Dont know what to do.Anyone who could help me?? :crying:
