  1. GUYS, I DONT KNOW WHAT A SENATOR IS? CAN SOMEBODY TELL ME THIS? SO I CAN TELL MY FIANCE ABOUT CALLING THE SENATOR.

It is a state representative, your Fiancé will know, I ended up writing to my Senator back in late June and his response came while I was in the Phils.

Back home, I still had jet-lag when her visa arrived because the Senator knew who to press.

Just understand that USEM is one of the toughest embassies in the world because of the amount of fraud. I think you have nothing to worry about.

  2. It's been since November 27th since the Consulate in Manila received our petition and still no packet. Is this normal to wait this long? hmm...

I cant remember if I have heard about K1 beneficiaries in the RP getting a packet by mail, I know that my wife (and several others that I asked) didn't receive anything by mail concerning the Visa process. USEM will swear that they sent it out.

You can wait it out and hope it arrives, or:

2 weeks after you get the NVC letter stating that the case was forwarded to USEM, call to set your Fiancee's interview appointment. Most likely they will ask you if you have received anything telling you to set an appointment, just tell them that last time you called you were told to call back after 2 weeks if you didn't get anything in the mail.

USEM will email your Fiancee a confirmation email/letter that she will print out to use to go to SLMEC for her medical, the email will also contain a link to the packet website that she will fill out online and print the needed forms.

  3. Hi. I'm new in this site. Im really worrying about our concern. My fiance' and I committed a mistake in filling out my BIRTH PLACE to our forms. I was referring to my Baptismal when i filled out the form and when i told him my birth place i have in my baptismal. Now, the birth place that i have in my baptismal is wrong! until i get my birth cert and find out. I did have my birth place in my baptismal changed to right one, in accordance with my birth cert. We already got the approval for petition and now awaiting for the letter appointment from the Manila Embassy and have my Medical Exam. My question is...should this error that we made cause me to denial? Could somebody advice me about this? I'm being emotional now and this cause me sleepless night thinking about this.

    Thanks in advance.

I assume you are in the Philippines, and are on K1 Visa and have received your NOA1 (petitioner) but since you have no timeline filled out I will go off of those assumptions. I don't know how to resolve your issue with the I129f and G325A forms having the wrong Birth place, other than to say take a corrected copy of those forms with you to the interview. I don't think it is a big enough deal to cause you denial but (that is opinion). Some CO's can be jerks. (that is fact).

Next thing is that you will not receive an appointment letter, you or your Fiancé must call and schedule the appointment. The medical is not by appointment, but you need the email that USEM will send you after you set the interview appointment. My wife never got the first thing in the mail from USEM and we set her appointment last Feb.

    Gotta go, will continue later.

  4. To TCO & Abbynorm, I've always thought that my fellow Texans are bright fellers, but not you two! :star: You don't have the slightest idea as to what the OP is yakking about. She says that her place of birth as written down on the filed forms (i.e. I-129F & G325) is the one on her baptismal certificate which is incorrect. The birth place showing on the NSO issued birth certificate is the correct one.

Now, when she goes in for the interview, she reckons she'll be in trouble as the place of birth showing on the birth certificate ain't the same as the one on the filed forms.

To the OP, I ain't got no clue on how to resolve your dilemma, but a notarized affidavit to explain and rectify the discrepancy might help.

Dangit Señor Pepe! Did you have to announce to the world that the other (OH SO HELPFUL) individual is from the lone star state too? OOPS

But it seems I did uncover a potentially major problem, which I will continue helping with.

  5. Thanks for ur reply. Yeah, i have my NSO birth cert now which is correct, and i also have my baptismal corrected to where i was born....i let my grandmother at the province change it to the right one, and passport. But my NSO BIRTH PLACE is late registered...you think this will affect a lot?

    Thanks.

When I say late file, I mean years late as though it was forgotten until needed for school registration or something else.

I didn't have time to hunt down and post the 221G document (White Slip), given to my wife by USEM at her interview, when I responded to you this morning, but I found it and have scanned it. It clearly shows their request. the document is cropped so that you can read what part of it I did post.

If your BC is filed in a timely manner and was corrected later then like many others here you should be ok.

BUt, If your BC was extremely late filed then I would suggest that you gather the extra documents listed on my wifes 221G and give them to the pre-screener at your interview. This should help expedite your USEM process.

If your birth certificate is sound, (as in no errors, not late filed) then the baptismal will most likely not be needed at the interview, But (depending on your CO) if there is the slightest issue with your BC then you will need the baptismal as back up. This happened to my wife and she was required to return with the baptismal records.

Just remember that if your Birth Cert is correct, name spelling Etc... then quit holding your breath, you will be fine.

  7. Does anybody know how this works? how long is it good for?

It is good for 3 calls only, and will become useless after 3 months if not used .

that is the official version, but I bought mine in Feb, interview in march, went into AR/AP until July and I used that pin at least 3 times a week for those 3 months to bug the ####### out of them.

Sorry but I don't get it.. I can get the pin calling US embassy where my petitioner will have her interview? am i right?

I don't think your "petitioner" will have an interview at the embassy

My bad.. I mean I can get the pin calling US embassy where my beneficiary will have her interview? am i right?

If you are in the US and are the petitioner then yes,

but for calls from the Philippines, it is a different number and it is by the min.

But one of you must pay to set the K1 appointment.

  9. OMG again...your wife's birthday is the same as my husband's LOL

    This is too freaky!

Hmm, Well I hope you don't get really creeped out if I tell you that we saw the JP on that day  . The weekend before that, we were at my sisters house so I asked my sister to witness for us at the JP and her husband said, "this Sucks! You come into my home and kick my @$$ in Wii bowling  and steal my birthday  ? No more parties for me!"

    Poor guy :crying:

  10. Am at work, chatting with my husband on Gmail chat, then he says can you call me?

I'm out of phone cards so I rush downstairs to get two (we always talk at lunch time anyway).

Come back and call him and the first thing he says is, we have a case number...it's its been sent to Manila already!

Still...we haven't received the hard copy of our I-129F NOA2 yet. Good Lord, my heart is all a-flutter! Am going to start checking with the US Embassy on Tuesday when they received our package. Darn holidays...

Have any of you received a Packet 3 or Instructions from the Embassy via e-mail?

I think I met your husband on a northwest flight to manila in mid June, we had remembered seeing each other on another flight in august of last year.

That is the way it happened for us, Email comes in at 2:am and as soon as I get in from work the next day, I call NVC and get my case number and they tell me that it was sent to manila already. It goes pretty fast from here so get prepared. We were K1 so our process was a little different, we never received anything from USEM even until now and she has been here in the States for 5 weeks, but when we called to set the appointment she got an email with a link to some forms and instructions.

  11. Western Union and the US Governemt just screwed me over.

Has anybody else had this happen ???

Yep, XOOM 's money in minutes program ended up refunding my my money 2 days later once! Never gave them another shot.

Is there another method of money transfer that I can use for the future ??? I think once this is fixed I will quit using Western Union - it is expensive - and now very inconvenient.

Also, my wife will arrive here in the USA in October and we will need to send money to her family in Mindanao. Can anybody suggest a better way to send her family money ???

    Thank you.

    Hoot

Oh yes, a much cheaper way until they figure out how to stop it. Open a second account at your bank and link it to your checking account. Have the debit card placed on foreign status and get it to her (don't use RP postal service). to send money, just log in online here and transfer money to that account. Tell them not to leave a $0.00 balance so the account will remain open. Next week marks 1 year and this is still working for me.

  12. Maybe someone is familiar with this. On the I-134 Affidavitt of Support instruction sheet under General Instructions it says: You must submit in duplicate evidence of income and resources, as appropriate:

    http://www.uscis.gov/files/form/i-134instr.pdf

Does this mean two copies of each category or two sources of for each category?

I have last years income tax return, W2, letter from my bank, income and work history from The Work Number, pay check stubs, total benefits statement from my employer, 401k statement, life insurance statement, and some other information printed from my employers intranet site. Some of this is really duplicated information. Is that the duplicates the instruction sheet is asking for?

    Thanks for any help,

    Dale

It means 2 copies. I sent her 3 copies of everything including the I-134. As for the list, I sent A,B and C.

  13. What's the lowdown on this airline. I want to put my baby on the direct from MNL to LAX? Will I have issues.

Note that I am here in the states so I WON'T BE THERE

I'll get her a copy of my CC and drivers license.

If she prints out the eticket or goes up with the conf. # will there be issues?

Have any of you flown them over here? Any experiences?

    Thanks.

Either way works. I left my Fiancee a copy of my CC and Drivers License back in June when I was there knowing it wouldn't be long, in July she got the visa so we began a ticket search and I was able to get her to MNL from CDO cheap so I bought that ticket for her and she was allowed to fly after showing the copies of my ID and CC. She found a travel agent there in CDO that she got the MNL to LAX on PAL ticket $200 cheaper than I could find online so I transferred the money to her and she bought it there.

One thing to note is that when you are on the PAL website, they will ask for the information of the person traveling, just put her email addy in there and they will email the ticket directly to her.

  14. They send her an email when you call them up. I literally just did it. The girl said just to print it out and take it to St. Lukes. Then to the interview.

That's what I was going to say, My Abby still has not received anything from USEM (snail mail). She did get the email confirming the interview which she used to get into the medical.

  15. So Finally after nearly a year of being a member of VJ, I finally have arrived here in the states and I would like to thank everyone here in the forum for your assistance. There were the easy times and the rough times and our 3+ month AP ordeal which we made it thru. I would like to say to everyone stuck in that nasty process (AP) to hang in there and keep praying because your time will come. Good luck to everyone still waiting.

  16. AN AUTHOR, NAMED ART BELL

I have been listening to art bell for many years and I remember when this BS hit the newsgroup. He outright denied posting this and proved at that time that someone had posted under his name (and he even posted the IP address of the guilty party) CASE CLOSED!

The person who called himself Art Bell on that group, did so as easily as you can call yourself rolls royce on VJ, if that is what you wish your posting name to be. Does that mean that you are, own or represent the auto MFG named rolls royce?

If you had an argument with rocky & Bullwinkle on VJ, would you blame the cartoon characters or would you be smart enough to tell the difference.

  17. Sorry I don't know this person, but while I was reading the article above - I don't know if I shall be sad or happy that his wife wasn't issued a visa or whatever. If he is married to a filipina, I can't imagine how he can write such an article. I can't find much sympathy in him sorry.
  18. I'm getting ready to buy tickets to MNL and have been shopping for a few weeks. I'm glad it worked out that I had to wait to buy them!! For travel dates starting August 7th - November 30th, they are having a promo - $550 USD + tax, from LAX to MNL!! That's $606.70 total! I'll be booking tomorrow :) Tickets have to be purchased no later than July 31st.

Cheaper than I got mine for last month, but I have since found EVA prices and wish I flew out of LA because it is about $400 for a 1 way ticket and 590 round trip LAX - MNL

  19. yeah they kept her passport but she did not pay the air21 yet..

    thank you..we are praying hard.

    godbless us all

You will just pay the air21 delivery driver, my Abby just finished her AP last week and was surprised by Air21 and had to quickly borrow the money. I think it is about 250 php. Call the embassy (0116323012000 ext 5185 Denice) to find out what it is. Don't waste your time with the call center because it will be the end of august before they know what it is.

    Congrats

  21. The CFO website states that each emigrant needs to pre-register for the seminar 5 days in advance if you are reading the Manila version of the page, If you are reading the CEBU version of the page that is not stated. What I was wondering is, which manila location requires this or is it both? If anyone has any knowledge about this you could set my Abby's mind at ease.

  23. Hi everyone and fellow VJ's

I just want to ask about Delbros. My friend advice me not to pay delbros anymore coz it has been cancelled since last year. Could Someone here advice me about it?

    Thnk you!!!

That is true! somewhere around Oct of last year they changed over to Air 21 and did away with Doc verification at the same time so don't pay the Delbros fee.

  24. Hello Vjers, My Abby is worried that she will have a problem because the Visa packet is torn. I am not talking about the large triangle cut out of the top, we know that is normal. The tear in question here starts at the bottom of the triangle and runs about 2 inches down the side toward the bottom of the envelope. It is not torn all the way, just about 2 inches from the triangle, this is the condition that Air 21 delivered the packet in, she didn't tear it.

My Abby wants to know if anyone else experienced this and did you have to do anything about it?

    She will appreciate your replies.
