  1. My 6 questions:

Who's in charge of the executive branch?

If the president can no longer serve, who becomes president?

There are 4 amendments to the Right to vote. Describe one of them.

What's one reason the colonists came to the US?

What's one right of the first amendment?

During the Cold War, what was the main concern of the US?

You had the same questions I did, maybe it's a July pick LOL!

Congrats again and even through we are done now... we can always drop in now and then I guess!

    also congrats rajthebam!!!!! :dance::dance::dance::dance::thumbs::thumbs::thumbs::thumbs:

Everyone else who has their interview soon, good luck!!!!

  2. Congrats to ttsully66 for the interview and Okfir on getting an oath date :dance::dance::dance:

The MARCHERS are doing good :star:

I'm starting to get butterflies inn my stomach for tomorrow's interview, after a night of insomnia, really hope I'll get this over with smoothly :(

Goodluck tomorrow... I am sure you will do great! Honestly I had trouble sleeping and I was nervous too, but it is over so fast and as long as you know you know your questions and stuff, you should do fine!

  3. This dress code does not apply to family who attend right? Because it is hell to get my husband just to wear a polo shirt much less dress pants. I myself prefer dress pants to jeans, so I will be ok. My husband went to his oath in a t-shirt and jeans 10 years ago.

He even wanted to wear jeans to our wedding, but no one else was having that lol!

  4. Hey Queendlee, Congrats on your oath date!! Hope you'll be feelin well :star: How was the defense? Can we call u Doctor now??

lol... i was sooo nervous about my defense, but it went really well, they treated me like a colleague instead of a student which was nice, which I am now!!! so I am officially Dr. Queendlee, LOL. I hope I will be feeling ok for my oath, even if I am not, nothing will stop me from being there!

thanks for your support and concern!

Your interview is on my wedding anniversary (I just realized that), so it will be a special day! and I know you will do great!

Got my oath letter in the mail today, updating. Glad to have this journey come to an end, just got to go take my passport pics one of these days so I can apply for my passport right away!

Good luck to all still waiting!

    Anci78... congrats!

  5. I got my oath letter - date July 16th Yeah! Unfortunately I am having surgery the day before, but it's out patient, so I will be able to go as long as my husband drives me!

  6. The 6 questions were:

    1. Name one right/freedom from the first amendment.

    2. What is one reason colonists came to America?

    3. During the Cold War, what was the main concern of the United States?

    4. There are four amendments to the Constitution about who can vote. Describe one of them.

    5. Who is in charge of the executive branch?

    6. If the President can no longer serve, who becomes President?

She handwrote each of my answers and marked them as correct. Then she had me read one sentence: " Which state has the most people?" and write: " California has the most people." At this point, after making some quick notes, she congratulated me and said I had passed the test and that I would have to return to the waiting room and wait for my name to be called again for the second part of the interview, which would be conducted by a different IO.

i had the same questions on monday

  7. Thanks guys, almost through the hurdle. I have my final doctoral/phd defense tomorrow, so I have one more things stressing over!

RaleighN400, hopefully yours is not as long as mine. Simo did not seem to have such a long wait. However, it was painfully boring and long, wish i brought some work or a book in. I did not think it would be that long since everyone else seems to go in and out.

  8. Thanks everyone for your support and advice!

    This was a long day!

So I had my interview today. I arrived at the center 29 minutes early (10:31am). I went through security however they had some issues with a pen I had in my purse. I asked them to let me just throw it away, but they just had me pull it apart and scanned it several times. lol

Then since we were early they had my husband and I sit in a room, which i assumed is the oath room for ~15 minutes.

At 10:46am, they sent me to a desk which i have them my letter and they gave me a number and sent us upstairs.

I went upstairs to a packed interview room. and it seemed most people were there for n-400's. We waited and waited and at about 12:30pm, I was called.

The interview/exam was quick. She was very very nice, going over a couple things with me then went into the exam. Firstly there was a discrepency on their part in regards to my green card date. In the system it shows i have been a resident for 4 years not 3, and my AOS paperwork was approved but the IO did not sign the paperwork. Anyhow this required her to do some digging and checking, but in the end it was their problem so she would sort it out. I answered 6 questions right, answered and read the english part. Then we went over the entire application. That was the longest part.

Then about 12:45pm she said she was not sure if the person for final approval was still around and if not i would need to go and come back. She said i was waiting so long i probably needed lunch. She found out who was handling cases and he told her i needed to wait. At about 2pm, he finally got through my case and told me in a few weeks I will let a letter w/ my oath date.

Even though this whole thing took forever, everyone was soooo nice there unlike when I went to my AOS in miami. Also, they now allow phone use in the building, which I wish i knew so i could let my husband go and come back when i call him back. It was a tiring wait!

also, a few things, they told me traffic violations are not considered citations and you don't need to answer the question inverbatum.

    So I am almost over!

  9. I thought about this, too. But using common sense one might think that one of the suggested answers will suffice.

Since the test doesn't look too difficult anyway I'd suggest to study all the answers so you can present "alternatives" in case the IO ins't satisfied.

thanks, i figured, i was just having trouble remembering every single response for some of those types of questions, but I guess I should be ok

  10. After looking through all the posts on this, I think the people that stated that the answer should more or less and not exactly match the correct answer are right.

I know I am over thinking things, but the instructions said to use their answers (correct or not), but I guess I just wanted to make sure. I assumed paraphrasing was ok, but then I read some things that make me think otherwise!

My only other issue is the number of answers for questions that the number of responses was not stated. For instance a questions where three responses are given and the question ask state the reason for x. Do you give all three or do you give one of their responses.

Its obvious for the questions that the answers are just worded in different ways like "what is the emancipation proclamination?" the answers are just different wording of the same answer, but for a questions like "why did the colonist fight the british?" or"what is the rule of law?" - several answers are given, do you answer all three or just one?

  11. Wife had problems with bearing guns for this country, she is deadly afraid of them, but my army captain neighbor assured her, if it comes to that, we would really be in bad shape.

Actually that part was the only thing that bothered, I know i can fire a gun, I have been to ranges w/ my husband. But I don't think I would go out and just willingly go shoot one if things are not that bad, but if things got that bad and the government needs us to bare arms, it must be real bad and I would definitely do it... otherwise guns are not my thing

  12. Oh boy, I sure hope they find my application soon. Mine has been with them since January 2004.

    Arizona Girl

geez, your are years passed the processing date, you should call them everyday and ask about it and document it, then can turn around and claim they sent you something you never got, don't just sit back and take it, once they are outside the 6month timeline, they have to do something for you. you paid for that much

  13. I called 1-800 number today just to find out if they could give me a rough idea when I can expect my interview. The automated response did not recognize my receipt number, it kept saying that I did not enter enough numbers, so I got to real person who said that their system does not recognize my receopt number; she was only able to tell me that they reseived my application, and it is within processing time limits. She said if I do not hear from them within 60 days, to call them back. So, I guess I am not that lucky to get interview letter 2 weeks after fingerprints:(( Will wait and see.

mine came more than 2 weeks after, dont worry too much, some applications are fast some are slower, my timeline is slower than a lot of people who applied after i did, but time flies by, just make sure they are within their timeline before you worry too much
