  1. Congrats hey can you let me know what kind of question did they ask and what documents they ask we have a date for our interview thank you.!!!

Okay, be sure you have with you some evidences of your relationship. Like cards, love letters, money remittances, phone bills, even a delivery receipt of the flower sent to you.

The questions vary. But in my case the pre screener just asked for my age and birthday. It was too easy that I got blank when he asked me that question. Hehe.

My final interview just took us about 5 minutes. It was a plus having my husband with me. The interviewer asked my husband few questions. Like, what has he been doing in the Phils for over a year. Also, when did we first met in person and others were just petty talks very simple. On my part he just asked me to name the work of my aunt who co sponsored my husband. Then he apologized for the long process it took us and said we will get our visa in under a week. Praise the Lord! We then went to the last window to retrieve my documents and I got pink slip. We were asked to pay in advance Air 21 who delivered my visa after 3 business days. Please prepare Php. 500 for the delivery. It should be more than enough.

Just be confident and calm. Pray all the time. No worries, I know you will do just fine. :-)

    What state are you headed?

  2. This is how I had it explained to me:

LIN = Lincoln, Nebraska or NSC

EAC = St. Albans, Vermont or VSC

SRC = Dallas, Texas or TSC

WAC = Western Adjudication Center Laguna Niguel, California or CSC

    MTL = Montreal

    MNL = Manilla

    etc, etc, etc

    So let's say your case # is MNL 2008 001 50001

    • The first three letters represent the Consulate/Embassy/Service Center. In your case, Manilla.
    • 2008 represents the fiscal year (October 1, through September 30) in which the case was received.
    • The 001 represents the computer workday in the fiscal year on which the fee was taken, which is calculated by counting the number of working days from October 1. Saturdays and Sundays and national holidays are not included.
    • The 50001 represents the particular case number.
There doesn't appear to be an error in your number so I wouldn't worry. :)

Hello, Thank you all for your help. Visa Journey has been so much help to us. This post made sense. You know if you waited for almost a year you kind of freak out for little things. :-) Good to know this! Thank you very much!!!

  3. : I am in Jordan. I want to go to the USA with my fiancee and unfortunately she isnt making the most money as she was downsized at work and the economy isn't the best in the USA. Does she have to be the sponser on my application? Or can it be someone else? :help:

Hello, You may need to ask how much is the poverty level in the US. Because if she is over that even a little she can still qualify I think.

In my case my husband was co sponsored my by aunt because he left his job and lived with me here in the Phils. So, we used the income of my aunt instead. You need to call NVC for guidance.

    Hope this helps you.

  4. Hello Everyone,

It took me so long to get to this point. At last I'm waiting for a letter for my sched of interview. NVC said I may not have a February schedule for the interview. It's just January and my case was completed at the NVC Jan. 16 and I need to wait a month until I get interviewed? Wow.

My husband and I are going to Manila when my sched is set. Can anyone tell me please the process I'm going to go through when I get there? I'm from the Philippines by the way. They said the medical exam should be taken a week before the interview, is this right? Any info will be helpful so we can project the number of days to stay in Manila. Also, can anyone please help us any reasonable hotel info near the US embassy?

Many thanks and blessings to all.

    Jill

  5. Hello everyone :) , I am confused about the k3 route, Please explain it to me. My question is. What if I will not get the visa for k3? Can I just wait for the CR-1? My understanding was that if I will get interviewed for K3 it means that the CR-1 will no longer be my category?? PLEASE ENLIGHTEN ME GUYS> THank you very much! Good Luck to all of us!

    Hi,

Are you married already? Did you marry here in Phils? All you need to do is submit the I-130 form without the I-29F. I submitted both and it only delayed my papers.

If you submit the I-130 with the I-29F you will be charged for about $1,000 when you arrive in the US so they can convert it to CR1.

Don't know what other Vjs say.

    Blessings,

    Jill

  6. Hello to all,

Please anyone help me what are the papers works to prepare for the affidavit of support? My husband left his job March 17, 2008 and stayed with me here in the Philippines until I am able to get my visa. We will be needing a co sponsor which is his brother. But, what are the forms is he going to submit for the affidavit of support and the requirements too?

    Thank you,

    Jill

  7. Hello All,

I have another concern. My birth certificate is not readable. Will I need a second evidence like an affidavit? This is what NVC has to say about it:

    * An affidavit from a close relative, preferably the applicant’s mother, stating the date and place of birth, both parents names, and the mother’s maiden name.

Note: An affidavit must be executed before an official authorized to take oaths or affirmations. More specific information is available from the NVC.

Where can I get this specific information? Who is this official authorized person to take oaths or affirmation, is this a judge?

I really need a hand on this. Your help will be appreciated.

    Blessings,

    Jill

  8. Hi,

We received our IV FEE agent already from the NVC that bill for the beneficiary and sent them $400. NVC said they sent us already DS230. Now, the other track which is the petitioner's has not yet been in progress yet. NVC said they sent the IV fee bill last Sept. but until now we have not received anything. They will re send it again, that will take couple more weeks. Do I need to wait for that bill to arrive? Can't I pay it online?

    Thanks for any help.

    Blessings,

    Jill

  10. I see that you are filing for the K-3 visa... maybe the I-130 has not gone to NVC because they are pushing your I-129F through to the consulate already... I have read on another board that this has been happening. If you are wanting to pursue the I-130 CR-1/IR-1 visa, you have to wait the 90 days and then they can officially reseach where the I-130 is...

Thank you much for your encouragement. No they didn't tell us why they held my petition that long. Yes, maybe because of the I-129F. The immigration here has adviced us to file both I-129F and I-130. Good thing we were advised by one VJ not to pursue with I-129F. I truly thank God for this site. Such a blessing. Without this we will really be confused .

    Thank you for your responses.

    Blessings,

    Jill

  11. Hi,

With the help of VJ members I was able to track down my I-130 petition that has been held at California Service Center for over a month now despite my approved petition status. NVC said please allow 90 days to receive my NVC case number after the CIS notice date.

I was surprised to read from another VJ member whom I befriended that her CIS approval came even later than mine and after 2 weeks she got her NVC case number. My CIS approval is over a month now and NVC is still negative of its receipt. I called the USCIS to check its status only to find out it has been held so long already at CSC. I am truly grateful of a CIS officer who helped me to get my case followed up only that I need to wait another 45 days until NVC receives my petition but the agent said it may take sooner than that. I could only hope.

Please include my case in your prayers.

    Blessings,

    Jill

  12. Using James' Shortcuts for the ds-3032 is still faster than the email. The rest of the way is much faster with online payments. I used all my wait time at CSC getting forms filled out, preparing packets and just learning about NVC.

Thanks everyone for a speedy guidance. Im just curious, once I get my NVC case number and Invoice Identification Number can we immediately pay online for AOS package fee and IV fee? or we need to wait to receive a word from NVC when to pay it?

Its weird, its more than a month already since CIS approved my petition and until now NVC doesn't have a case number for me yet. I have a friend and hers was just after 2 weeks of CIS approval, NVC generated her case number. Am I missing something? I called NVC so many times but automated response says they still don't have my approved petition from CIS.

    huh! :-(

Call and speak to an operator!!! Don't wait any longer...

    Thanks KIMF! Bless you.

  13. i thought, Palin did a very good job and made a fine speech..better than liberman ..thompson...etc..she was polished and articulate..not a fan of hers, but for a first timer on the national stage..it was a shining moment in politics

i think we know what's on your mind.

Have you heard how boldly Palin challenged Obama? She got some courage in her. She spoke so well and without fear. That's the kind of VP we need to have.

  15. Hi everyone,

I'm on a spousal visa. My petition has recently been approved by CIS and I'm waiting for my case number from NVC. I want to prepare ahead specially that my husband is with me until I get my visa. He left his job in the US. Basically we will be needing a co-sponsor which is his dad.

I will be using the James short cut in getting ahead on choice of agent. From what I understood, I will be asked for the affidavit of support after the choice of agent. Can we prepare them in advance and just wait until its time to turn them in? What forms are we going to fill in for this?

Also, can anyone please help me find this.... lottos fastest process? I think its like the James short cut.

Thank you for your assistance and I very much appreciate this site.

    Blessings,

    Jill

PS. What is ds230? when am I going to have it?

  16. Submitting petitions I-130 & I-129F together to the USCIS will result in a K3 visa if they are processed together. A few years ago this type of visa was faster than a CR1 visa but now days the difference in processing between the two is not much. An I-130 by itself will result in a CR1 visa.

With a K3 visa, you will have to file for Adjustment of Status (AOS) when you arrive in the US, pay $1,010 and wait about 6 months for approval. You will also have to apply for an Employment Authorization Document (EAD) if you want to work before the AOS is approved, this can take about 3 months.

With a CR1 visa you don't have to do any of that because you receive your green card a few weeks after you arrive in the US. The only extra fees you have to pay are the AOS and IV bill at the NVC which is before your interview.

In my opinion, since you already have your I-130 approved, you can keep on with the CR1 visa and not do anything with the I-129F since it's a much better visa. Or if you still want the K3 visa, submit the evidence they're requesting for the I-129F so they can approve it.

I would also recommend to see what other VJ members say about this before making any decisions.

    Good luck!

    Hello Diana,

Thank you for your input. CR1 is the way to go. I need to do away with the I-129F.

very much helpful. God bless you.

  18. We got married here in the Philippines. Right after we get married we went to the Phil. embassy and the head officer instructed us to file both the I-130 and I-129F petitions. After two months both petitions were approved. The I-130 approval through I-797 Noice of Action instructed o wait for the NVC case number. While the I-129F approved petition through I-797 Notice of Action asked us for more evidences and gave us deadline to submit otherwise visa will be denied.

By right, I should be I-130 which is spousal visa not I-129F. Shall I go ahead and not submit the requirements for I-129f?
