After two weeks just received the big brown envelope containing the visa packet and presumably my passport in it.

Now I wonder, what am I supposed NOT to open. This envelope it came in? Or am I right in believing I may open that one but not the other envelope with the missing corner which is inside?

Dumb question,

had a successfull K1 interview in Frankfurt earlier in the day.

Now noticed that they apparently kept my passport there. Is this correct or did something go wrong there and I should have gotten it back?

To answer my own question, old posts elsewhere stated 4.25€ as postage for the selfaddressed envelope for the visa. As per Post.de this correlates to the current price of an A4 registered letter with max 1000g weight.

I suppose I'll keep waiting for someone to reply who went to this particular embassy and knows.

I'd rather come prepared and have the stamps with me instead of maybe finding the vending machine at the embassy broken that day.

Bei mir sind es knapp über 2 Wochen zwischen Pack 4 und Interview.

Denke die "Date of Proposed Travel" Angabe auf der Check List wird soweit möglich in Betracht gezogen.

Versuch sonst einfach schonmal eine Email an die zu schicken und zu fragen ob es generell möglich ist den Interview Termin sehr kurzfristig zu legen. Auf meine Anfragen wurde schnell geantwortet.

Ist eigentlich nichts worum man sich sorgen machen müsste.

Die Praxis ist ab U-Bahnhof Klosterstern in ca 2 Minuten zu erreichen. Reisepass, Impfpass, Casenumber und 125eur Gebühr mitbringen (bezahlt wird am Schluss). Erstmal Formulare ausfüllen, dann ein wenig gewartet und es ging mit Blutabnahme los. Dann zur Urinabgabe und nach ein wenig mehr warten Treppe hoch zur Röntgenaufnahme. Habe dann ein wenig länger gewartet da es mit dem vorherigen Patienten länger gedauert hat. Beim Arzt dann einmal den Fragebogen abgeklopft (ca 5 Minuten), Impungen geprüft (MMR Auffrischung fehlte, wurde dort auf Kassenkarte noch nachgeimpft), Für Windpocken hat "Habs als ich 4 war gehabt". Abschliessend einen Strip bis auf die Unterhose hingelegt, alles abhören, Blutdruck messen, Organe abtasten und Rachen ausleuchten. Das wars dann schon. Gab dann noch das Röntgenbild und nachdem die Arzthelferin daran erinnert wurde auch die Kopie das Vaccination Sheets. hat insgesamt mit doch einiger Warterei ca 90 Minuten gedauert.

Would really not go as far as including a bunch of mail printouts. Just something which can be looked over reasonably quickly, apart from the flight coupons a copy of the passport page with all the stamps and a few photos of you two together should be satisfying for them and be quite to the point

Currently waiting for pack 4. As the NOA2 on the 22nd of September rather surprised us (online status is still showing received and pending) we only faxed the doc checklist in on the 6th of October. Still hoping to soon hear back and maybe still get an interview date for this month, would mean I can wrap things up here and move to the US by the end of December.

Apparently from what I have read a big delay comes from the FBI name check. That apparently takes rather long anyway and if an entry gets flagged for whatever reason it takes even longer to be returned as ok to the service center. Thus some applications at times take a good deal longer being approved than others.

Bin zwar immer noch unsicher was die Röteln Impfung angeht (sieht etwas seltsam aus im Impfbuch) aber der Arzt meint es sei so in Ordnung. Werde zum Medical in Hamburg gehen, der Vertragsarzt soll ja nicht unbedingt einen Titer für Windpocken verlangen, mal schauen obs so klappt.

Don't have my forms in front of me, but I answered those questions with Yes and a short sentence stating I will arrive on a K1 visa, will get married in the US and complete the AOS in order to be permitted to work.

Werde morgen meine Impfungen auffrischen lassen. Wie schauts aus wenn der Arzt bei der Untersuchung meint das doch noch was fehlt, knallt der einem dort gleich eine Spritze rein oder muss ich nochmal zu einem anderen Arzt laufen?

Best to just ask. Mine wanted DS230, 156, 156k and 157 returned by mail immediately and the checklist once I have all the stuff gathered.

To play it safe I'll bring copies of all the documents to the interview as well.

DHL seems to have somewhat reasonable prices for large parcels to be sent. Plan on sending four or five over with stuff I don't want to part with.

hm, danke denke ich werde da morgen mal anrufen ob das noch nicht wirklich pack 3 war oder ob jemand vergessen hat diverse Formulare reinzupacken. war allerdings nur ein kleiner Umschlag, denke nicht das da noch viel reingepasst hätte.

hattet ihr vor pack 3 von der Botschaft in Frankfurt einen anderen Brief bekommen?
