  1. DAI_VN,

You still need someone to help your wife on preparing for the interview and stuff? Man, I thought you guys are good enough. I thought you're knowledgable enough to go with out them. I guess I have to look into hiring someone too huhhh? Does anyone else do the same thing as Dai?

    Dai,

Go to Cho Ray. You do not to book just walk in and pick up the result tomorrow. In the morning for medical exam only.\

    Good luck.

  2. Thanks Everyone for you suggestions. My wife decided to go to the 147 Nguyen Kim place because her friend recommended it also. We talked to Ngan, the woman sitting next to Mr. Thanh, and she was really nice and handled my wife really well in making her feel comfortable about the upcoming interview. When my wife 1st step in there she heard Mr. Thanh speak and dealing with customers in a loud voice with his slick back hair appearence and aggressive talking he intimidate my wife too much so she went for ms. Ngan.

OK the lady sits next to Mr. Thanh name Ngan. What you have seen how is Mr. Thanh's attitudes dealing with customers is exactly right. At Nguyen Kim services they charge for preparing paper work + evidence + how to do when you interview is now 200,000 VND. I went to Mr. Thanh last year and came back this year in Apr. but no more. Would not recommend any one.

Best luck! for both of you.

    God BLess,

  3. thanks thats the one H&H recommended too appreciate all the comments and help..

As far as getting an email from NVC, my case is difference because I have a medical emergency and NVC didn't complete my case and sent it to Ho Chi Minh City so they are taking care of the appointment letter.

    Dai,

I did recommended to you anh Thanh @ Nguyen Kim. Last time I came back for him but he is not good as much as before. He is alsmost out of business less customer and did not do the job like before. Now I don't recommend you to go to him. The lady sits next to him now has more customers than him. If you have any better "Dich Vu" try it.

Best luck to your spouse. PINK! PINK! PINK!

    God Bless,

    H&H

  4. Also, my appointment letter has not come in the mail yet and I want my wife to get the medical examination done as soon as possible, is it possible to get the medical examination with out the appointment letter?

    -Dai_VN

Don't you have an email from NVC that sent you an appointment letter in PDF to both petitioner and beneficiary? Now NVC goes for green. No mail send to beneficiary. Your spouse can print out for medical exam and bring it to interview day too.

    Good luck. Get Pink!

  5. My wife having her Medical Exam tomorrow 04-22-09 @ Cho Ray. (don't know which one, we hired a lawyer in HCM).

How long does the Medical take? And how much does it costs? (My wife told me 2 million dong = $120 US)

does 2 trieu includes everything? laywer fees + medical fees?

No, 2 trieu only for Medical Exam for tomorrow. He actually not a lawyer, something like a service agent in VN, cost only $300 from begin to end. Take care all the paperwork for my wife, medical exam, interview, and etc.

Medical Exam at Cho Ray costs $100 USD. Your wife needs to take 2 vaccines (Trung Tam Kiem Dich so 40 duong Tran Huy Lieu) and bring a vaccine reicept to Cho Ray. You don't have to make an appointment for Medical Exam but Cho Ray only schedule in the morning and 1PM-2PM for Medical Exam. You will come next day (in the afternoon after 2:30PM) to get your seal envelope result if normal case. Dr. also tell your result verbally.

    Good luck,

    H&H

  6. did the CO speak vietnamese to your husband or was there a translator?

The COs speak English and always have translators unless the petitioners are not Vietnamese. He/She will interviews your spouse in English.

    Good luck

    H&H

First, congratulations to you. I always say this to everyone, because I know from personal experience--now the easy part is over, good luck with the hard part, that is, actually making a life with each other. I'm sure you are up to meeting the challenges of the hard part.

Second, your statement is not correct 100% of the time. My wife was interviewed in Vietnamese by the CO himself. He was an older white guy, and my wife says he spoke very clearly. There was no translator. From what I've gathered, this guy is the only one who does this, and maybe not for every interviewee.

Thank you Melrose Plant for your comment. I think when your spuose interview that was still belong to the pervious COs + Chief. When I went to VN right after my husband got the white paper from his 1st interview, I met Mr. Mac Ellis. He told me that it was a rough time because all the staffs + the Chief in HCMC office had been changed recently. He was very happy with the previous Chief who never needed translator. Now the previous Chief got promoded to other country. And I also met one of the priest who talked to the previous Chief and gave me a great comment about him.

I was there when the current Chief interview some one. He always need a translator. I heard only few words he can spoke out "biet' hay khong biet" the rest he needed tranlation. Plus when my husband's 2nd interview he said that there were translators for all doors. Maybe this group of COs is still learning Vietnamese. I hope.

  8. Just a right time for July-4. Congrats, and happy for both of you. My wife actually having her interview on May-18. I am little and more worry for her interview. I was wondering what is the percent passing rates in HCM city, because I had heard alot of couple been fail lately? Thank you for a wonderful post, and I will sure PM you if I have any questions. Thank you.

    hi hniHnitsuJ,

Thank you for cheering with us. We don't know exactly the percent rate of passing interview in HCMC at this period. My husband only estimate while his waiting time for his turn that it's about 60% pass. The good news is unlike last year, the COs do take time to invest and study for your case. So if your case is not complecated do not panic just stay in focus and practice your answers over and over with your spouse. Keep praying. You may forget every thing on the last day but with your faith your answers will clearly in your mind at the interview time. (based on my husband experience)

Here some tips from my husband got from his interview:

    1. Bring all your evidence even you have a ton of emails or chat logs. All Pictures you + your spouse on. Reciepts of sending money, phone bills (highlight your spouse's cell phone and home phone), all stuff of your wedding spending ect. Eventhought, the CO may not ask to see them all but will show your statement of true relationship.

    2. While your spouse waiting to be call for intervew (your number will appear on the digital screen with asign door) take all your evidence out of the clear plastic bags. Put them on your thighs to be ready (remember take off all unnecessary stuff such as clips, extra folders, ect. leave them on the chair) When your spouse comes to the door for interview, organize them in order in front of CO and put the important evidence near you and on top of every thing (if you are Catholic, "So GD Cong Giao + pictures when you made a vow turn reading right to the CO) in my case we are Catholic and I got pregnant. He put wedding pictures + ultrasound on top. (this tip my husband learned from a lady sat next to him)

    >> This will make attention to the CO. He/she wil be flashed thru your evidence by follow you. You also impress him/her by your confident. Just don't do it lilke 10 minutes. Don't worry. The CO will wait for you to be ready for questions politely.

    3. When you answers make eyes contact with smile to the CO. This will make you release stress and come you down. Answers with a strong, clear voice out of mouth.

    4. If some questions you don't understand clearly please ask. Don't guess the answers if you don't know.

    5. Wear the formal cloth no need for tie (nice shirt + Pants don't wear T-shirt and jean)

I hope this tips will help you out. I have over 100 questions (in vietnamese version only) you may download and study. All questions the CO ask my husband are in this question guide.

Wish the very best luck to you all for the up comming interview in HCMC.

    God Bless you all,

    H&H

  10. Dear my VJ members,

My husband just got a pink paper on Apr. 14. It's was about 30 minutes interview at the 7 door. ALmost all questions we prepared only the ID tax that I claim him for tax 2007. The CO asked him "How your wife got your SS?" --- He replied: "I don't understand" --- The CO explain agained "Your SS on her tax 2007" --- He replied "I don't know much but I know that she claimed me on and get $300 from Bush President  "

3 areas the CO strongly was going in too depth that:

1 - How you two knowing and meeting each other (how many trips, first place met, how long the relationship took) + engagemnet and wedding ceremony (if you are Catholic you should show "so gd Cong Giao and confirm letter from the Priest who did your wedding mass)

2 - Your spouse job (how much money make per hour, what position for her/his job, where she/he works)

3 - In my case --- I got pregnant from last trip --- (We have all ultrasound and report from hospital)

The CO also asked why he did not pass last interview. Finally, the CO handed our pink paper without any submit any thing more. The CO did not looked at any emails, chat logs, phone bills, ... He only flash through our wedding pictures, honeymoon pictures, my pregnancy pictures.

PS: We had Ly lich tu phap done in Aug 2008 still valid (not 6 months, it's valid for 1 year)

Thank you so much for your support all my journey. And good luck to every one. Keep praying and be patient.

    God Bless you all,

    H&H

  11. save them in your hard disk before printing.

    select a date ->click save

Mr. Leggs If I save them in my hard disk, I can open them from notepad but hey are not real because I can manipulate by adding or deleting any text chat. Any better idea to show the YM chats are real and WYSIWYG?

    Thanks Mr. Leggs
