  1. Hi! I am just wondering, will the processing of I 130 be faster if the DS 3032 be emailed instead of mailing it? How many days do they usually appear as accepted in the NVC from they got the forms (mailing and emailing). my father (the beneficiary) is about to mail the DS 3032 and im trying hold him until I figure this out because it is so expensive to mail from the philippines and it will take forever to get to the NVC unless he sends it the next day. a little help would be nice! thanks!

Hi, we sent by email and mail. Our ds3032 accepted after maybe 2-3 days after they have received our ds3032 in the mail. I also emailed the ds3032 then nvc responded to my email.

Yes 2 day shipping is expensive, but I think ups is cheaper than fedex. Philippines post office has express shipping too for 800 pesos but takes 5-7 days. Sending by standard mail using philippines post office takes about 2 weeks from manila.

  2. What about the fees USEM/NVC are charging $15 is nothing compared to the $131 interview fees. Don't know why a lot are ranting over the seminar. But for the OFWs this seminar is very crucial. You may laugh at it but does serve a purpose. The horror stories of those leaving the country are quite true. A lot of Filipinos leaving the country, haven't been inside a plane yet. Whereas for example the $131 fee for an tourist visa nterview only to be denied most of the time (for honest Filipinos) is really a joke as it's a money making scheme. $131 is a lot of money.

I understand what you are saying. When you see it in pesos, it seems like real money. I remember getting mad at the taxi drivers who tried to overcharge, maybe 10, 25, 50, or even 100 pesos. "If you don't mind, I can turn off the meter and take another way to get you there for just 150 pesos," they would say, especially after dark. I was getting upset, until I thought to myself, I am argueing over paying fifty cents, or at most a buck overcharge! I might have tipped him more than that if he wasn't trying to scam me!

Starbucks, now that is a real rip-off!

Taxi drivers when they see white they see dollar$$$ not all but many. It is really upseting as soon as you get inside the taxi they ask for additional charge or tip always. I got tired and learned to do not argue, because it will only stressed and makes me more pangit hahaha  or just take anotehr taxi. I understand them they want to make more money but still its rude/bad when they ask for tips before u go and not just wait for my voluntary tips and the overcharge is double the actual meter fare or sometimes 150% more of actual meter (sometimes more than that). But the worst part is.. most drivers dont appreciate the tip or the overcharge cost, and soemtimes will have a look at you and or you will hear word/s when they dont like the amount of tip you gave and even if it was good tip,,,but i just ignore.... But when husband is back to usa, they dont try to overcharge me. We ride taxis 2 times in a day soemtimes 4 times to go places, it is alot plus tips,, imagine living in philippines that way you will know what i mean.

i thought ill just post this as bullwinkle mentioned about taxi drivers.

  3. to those who had or will have sputum test. what is/are the reasons why you have to undergo sputum test? what is this sputum test? is there an additional fee? how do they know if applicants need to have sputum test? its bad that you will have to wait 2 months. can we prevent it, if so how?

    thanks.

  6. What we did and didnt run into any problems at the time of my wifes interview was as intructed we sent the original to the NVC with all supporting documents and before sending it to the NVC i made copies of it all and I sent the copies to my wife so she would have them when she went for her interview, "just in case". Thats for the CR-1 as for the K visas it might be a bit different. We had no problems and my wife didnt need to produce the copies I sent her.

Thanks , we sent also the original to the nvc and made copies.

    Preparing your interview materials:

The I-864 Affidavit of Support (and I-864A for household members when required) is used to prove applicants will not become a public charge dependent on government welfare. Sponsors fill out this form. It is a legally binding, complex contract on which it is easy to make errors.

You should talk with your sponsor before your interview and ensure an I-864 was filed. If there is any doubt, consider having your sponsor complete another I-864 (and I-864A for household members whose income is included in the pledge of support) and bring the original signed forms to your interview. I-864s no longer need to be notarized.

Tax return requirements. Sponsors need to present one year of tax returns. Consider bringing your sponsor’s most recent Federal tax returns to your interview. Photo copies are acceptable.

  8. TRUST ME, THEY GONNA NEED AN ORIGINAL AND NOTORIZE SIGN BY THE PETITIONER. BRRRRRRRRR, BASED ON M,Y EXPERIENCED.

If you have just filed for IR-1/CR-1 then the original would have gotten sent off to the NVC after your case gets there, and also from what I have been reading that the I-864 is no longer required to be notarized.
