  2. (Direct to the point )

My AOS interview was at 1pm today in Sacramento. We arrived at 1230 then my name was called at 1:02pm(estimated time). My husband & I entered the room and he introduced himself and told us to raise our right hand for the oath to tell the truth. He asked for my i-94 and govt id (EAD)Then he just asked me some questions written on the AOS application form to verify if all infos are correct. He then asked me my husband's bday, when we got engaged, how did we meet, how long he stayed in the Philippines during the first meeting. He then asked my husband how he got here in the States coz he's a Filipino too, and where is he working. After, he ask for some documents/proof that we're living in together , of course I gave him insurance certificate, my husband's IRS document that has my name on it, some pictures of us together. He gave back my EAD and my husband's ID and told us that he's gonna approve it now and will just wait for 2 weeks to arrive in mail. Thats all. Thanks God we never had a hard time with him. It felt like we were in his room for 3-5 minutes only.

  3. Hi yall! Ill have my vacation next week and my question is, I still do have my passport on my maiden name but I already have my AP n EAD, interview will be on April, what documents will i bring during the flight? TY

you'll need a form of photo identification that matches the name on the tickets.

thank u!!!! ill only bring EAD and leave passport n ap

  4. Hey there, I am in the same boat, found out today my EAD was approved. Vvvveeeerrrrrryyyyy happy since it's been over 135 days. But I was wondering, why do we have to wait to have the card on-hand to start working if it's approved and everything?

CONGRATULATIONS TO U TOO. Because employers need physical proof that we are legal to work in US.

Thanks for your reply... so they need physical proof for their knowledge? Or if they trust I am honest is that not good enough? I know, I am very naive... Oh, and good luck on your upcoming interview jettyglenn...

TY u too goodluck on ur interview. I think they trust no one. I think ur EAD will arrive on Friday =)

    Congratulations! :dance::dance:

    Thank u . God Bless

    CONGRATULATIONS!

    TY=)

  5. Hi everyone, I know answers to this query wont give me an exact and accurate replies but at least give an idea.

On March 26 , I received an email notification re my EAD application that states CARD PRODUCTION ORDERED from CRIS. I'm just wondering if how long card will arrive to me though it says that PLEASE ALLOW 30 DAYS but Ive seen so many timelines here that their card has arrived one week after the notice. The question is, CAN I APPLY FOR A JOB NOW KNOWING THAT EAD HAS BEEN APPROVED? OR WILL JUST WAIT FOR MY EAD TO ARRIVE IN MAIL? ty ty ty very much vjers

  6. where is your local office? you are so lucky it went fast for you. sa akin ka pa nagtanong nun about sa CS d ba. i filed in Nov and until now wala pa ding result yung akin so i guess i have to call them kase baka pareho lang tayo ng local office. ako sa sacramento din. Good luck!

hi pinoy pinay. oo nashock nga ako kasi may interview agad. but hopefully this isnt a sign of badluck! God help me. Anyways baka wala ka nang interview? cguro na transfer na sa yo sa CSC kaya medyo matagal? basta i had biometrics sa Santa Rosa tapos interview daw sa Sacramento. Saan ka nagbiometrics? thanks. keep me posted

I got my initial interview letter first. My EAD came couple days before our interview and was taken away at the interview. Don't worry about what comes first, as long as you already have your interview. Good luck!!

what u mean taken away??? why? they never gave it back?

They took it because we were approved. You don't need your EAD anymore than you get your GC.

Wow thanks for that info. Hope mine will arrive too before the interview. =)

  8. Hi visajourneyers! I got lots of questions here.

Just today I received my Initial interview appointment date and wondering why I never received mail or email regarding my EAD and Advance Parole status, and I assume also that Interview notice will arrive after EAD n AP approval, is this normal?

Also, in the interview notice, there are documents that I need to bring with me ,sorry for asking too much and help is really appreciated, I just wanna make sure.

    1. Government issued photo identification (is it ok if I present my passport with maiden name and just bring marriage cert? i do not have any)

    2. All those establishing eligibility for Lawful permanent Residence(what's this?)

    3. Supporting evidences of relationship (i only have photos of wedding, insurance , joint acct back in my country where the certification of joint acct has my maiden name, certified copy of marriage cert (do i need more?) since utility bills are named to his father who is living with us.

    4. Original and copy of each supporting document that u submitted with ur application. (wow? i believe i gave them all and they need another copy?)

Well, that would be all as of now. Thanks very much for ur help.

  9. Anybody here who knows how to make money through blogging? Just sent my AOS application and I want to be productive while waiting and earn something.thanks

I don't know, but you cannot legally be employed without DHS authorization... How can you make money without being employed? (sounds like something you might want to use caution with)

    Exactly my thoughts.

And, as a blogger I can tell you this: it takes a looooooooooong time to make money off it.

ok thanks for that! Maybe i will just blog without earning (no problem)...

  10. For the most part, there doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason to the issuance of a green card sans interview. I've seen interviews required from Canada (low fraud country) and no interviews from Vietnam (high fraud country).

The ones that really make me scratch my head in confusion is the couples that marry in the US after an overstay of a visitor visa and then adjust status. I know of one couple personally that did this and she received a green card without an interview in less time than we did going through the K-1 route.

Exactly! I too know someone who overstayed her visa and married to a us citizen just to apply for greencard, got approved without interview! Unfortunately, his husband couldnt sponsor all her family members (who are all overstaying the visa) for AOS. Another sibling will marry US citizen soon for AOS purpose, its unfair for those who are going thru legal and proper way. These people must be banned for 10 years.

  11. Haven't been on the board in a long time....in between AOS and lifting of conditions, so no need. However, a friend of my wife recently got news of getting her green card without having an AOS interview (she came to the U.S. on a K-1 and got married just before the expiration). I came back to the forum to see if this happened to anyone else and sure enough it did.

First of all, congratulations to this poster. This e-mail is not intended to rain on your parade.

However, I also have to say that I'm a little bit miffed that this type of thing happens and I wonder why it does....seems kind of risky on the part of the U.S. government. I marred my wife in her country and then went through the K-3 process. After she arrived here, we filed AOS and then had the interview. On the other hand, my wife's friend came here on a K-1 and then married at the last minute. She eventually filed AOS and then gets told that she get a green card without an interview. Comparing the two cases (and given what I know), I would think the risk of giving an "automatic" (i.e., no interview) green card to a K-1 immigrant involves more risk than giving an automatic green card to a K-3 immigrant. Maybe I'm looking at it wrong or maybe I'm just biased given that I know our situation and I have a pretty good idea of my wife's friend's situation......and if either of the two of these cases really necessitated an AOS interview, it is my wife's friend and her husband and not us.

So, I guess I'm wondering if anyone has any idea why the U.S. government would NOT require an AOS interview for all K-1 immigrants.....seems prudent to me. Are these "not interview" green cards only going to K-1 immigrants? Or to K-3 immigrants also?

I'm just very curious, because I can't quite understanding the governments thinking on this.

in my own understanding, because the US Government thinks that it is still safe to marry in US than being fooled by some applicants that marriage they have were fake =( thats why k3s often have cases of AOS interviews for more evidences

hi ! u cannot marry others but the petitioner and since she broke up with you, though without the knowledge of embassy, its still not recommended. The best thing is to wait again or try to apply for a touirist visa and marry ur girlfriend here then adjust status=) (that is if ur gf is a us citizen)
