  1. If my co-sponsor filed jointly on their taxes how do they go about listing the income? Do they only list their income or can they add their spouses too? Also, do they put the dependents who are listed on the joint tax transcript as their dependents too or no? Also, my wife is a student so what should she have put on #7? She put full-time student and the name address of the school. If the co-sponsor is retired should she have put retired and N/A for the work address? And last but not least my wife put I do not intend on section 11. is this right? I am hoping the forms are filled out correctly. Please reply soon. Thank you!

The sponsor list only their own personal income and documents it with a complete tax return including W2 and/or 1099 forms. Retired is fine and yes, the guides give the proper advice. That's what they are there for.

    Thanks

  2. What did you all bring to the interview as proof of an ongoing relationship? I've got affidavits of us meeting from people here, photos galore, letters/cards from her to me and letters/cards from me to her, copy of insurance policies with us as each other's beneficiaries, passport stamp copies, her new passport with name change copy, newspaper articles of her for school stating I am her husband, do we have to have emails and chats? Is just emails ok? How many? Do I need her old passport or just copy? I have her flight itinerary and some of her travel documents, she lost her tickets though. Ok, please tell me what you all took for K3. Thank you.

showing "case pending". But when I checked it now now once again, I found that both the cases are approved.:dance::dance: Thanks to VSC and all the people in this forum who helped me with

their valuable suggestions and input. I wish that all of them in line would get their approvals soon.

  7. Hello everyone, seems we are all in same boat. I am looking in these forums since a while, ever since the 6 months VSC promised are over and nothing happened with our case. I started to be nervous about and started to google timelines, personal experiences and such. maybe is selfish to say so, but not being alone in this situation helps. if others can be patient, so can I, I guess. so what I really think is that they r giving some rough timelines on that messed up USCIS site, and if u call them , is the same. after many atempts, my husband got someone to talk to there. and woman said they were working on the files from 4th march. this was like a week ago. honestly I think she didnt even check. I think they tell u a date that isnt too far from yrs so u dont lose hope and think yr case will get in their lazy hands soon, and also not too close to yrs so u dont call them everyday when u realize nothing moves. I bet if we call again, someone will say they r at 5th or 3rd of march. just some dust in eyes, to pretend they do their best. it cant be that an officer there knows instant what files they r processing, but their site never updates with real data. what I think is everything depends on the officer u get assigned to, of how they wake up in the morning, of their headaches or distractions and so on. but hang on in there, everything comes to an end. this long wait will too. yes, well all be older and on valium, but we'll make it.

Appreciate you sharing your story. Umm...are you already on the valium or you think we will all need it come next year when we are still waiting on VSC workers to stop eating bologna sandwiches and potato chips all day instead of workng on our files?

No, dear it is pizza they are eating for sure. LOL

Do you think we will be approved this century?

I sure hope so I want to be together in short time.

  8. Hello! My wife thinks the lawyer slowed us down tremendously. He had us wait 8 months because we did not have a co sponsor for our affadavit of support. After May my wife got eager to follow through with the applications and said we are starting it without the co sponsor. We ended up contactig the lawyers in June and finally got the files sent out in July to the Chicago Lockbox. Because if we had waited any longer we would never have gotten the ball rolling.-As we all know the waiting lines at VSC are not getting any shorter, if anything they are getting longer day-by-day. So I am glad that we are finally in the midst of all this even though it is going by slower than we had anticipated ad no touches for 104 days. It is really frustrating to think we have to be apart this long due to negligence on the lawyer's behalf.

I emailed my lawyer's secretary for advice on my case and he emailed me back generic answers. I think he is a computer or something. I do not think this guy is even real. Any experiences from you all with this site? Here is the address: http://www.usavisanow.com . My wife and I hired him last year and he emails all the documents filled out and then what you do is sign them and mail them to his office. It kind of slows down everything. I have to print them out, sign them and then mail them to my wife and then she sends it all to the lawyers in a yellow envelope and vanilla file folder. I tell you he has messed up on our papers numerous times. We have been through h**l with these lawyers! I would already be approved and well on my way to being in the USA with my wife by now if we had not hired him. We owe him the rest of the retainer fee upon receipt of the NOA2 which is not very well earned. So, what should we do?

Advice to all of you: Lawyers are gold-diggers! Our lawyer aka Maritza Diaz/John Dorer are just money hungry! Whatever you do-do not use them! OMG! The do not give a d**n if we get approved or not. I wrote them in reference to my case and they said "we have to wait for NOA2". Good grief! Is that the best he can do. What kind of legal advice is that? He even messed up on our papers the first time. God knows what he sent to USCIS. The downside is you never now what they sent and if it is sent at all until he emails you a copy of your NOA which good because you get it from him and do not have to wait for it to get in the mail. Other than that it is a waste of good hard-earned cash! Go about it alone my best advice to all of you and just consult with the members here on VJ!

Greetings all, I hear that!! I am familiar with this company, and I also got quotes from other attorneys who scour these sites looking for applicants, of $1200 to 4500.00, (when i was ready to file) .I said NO, I ordered the Immigration kit from this Visanow company you discuss. I wanted to to have a working set of papers and example forms to lay out next to mine, to make sure everything was right, and i was too lazy to print out every form and example on the VJ site

After I started looking at their forms and comments, much of it was outdated, and/or changed and i sent 2-3 emails telling them, but never even got a thank you relpy for the updates and I'm sure they were never changed. I confirmed my mistakes thru Vj and the Embassy Website before I wrote them, so basically the $50.00 Guide helped me on a couple of forms that I could have got from VJ anyways

When my close friend paid $1800 for his attorney in June, he asked if I wanted to use his when I was ready 2 months later. Here it is November, I'm still waiting for NOA2 going on 4 months and he hasn't even started his Packet 3 yet as mine is all done and ahead of schedule, and he hasn't got his NOA2 yet either. When I asked him how this could be as mine was signed for in July, he told me his attorney never even got it in the mail until August, so now I am AHEAD of him!!! And I didn't pay a penny. I asked him if maybe he delayed his paperwork and he tells me he mailed everything to them on June 19th.

If you want things done right, do them yourself and with all the help from VJ, there's NO reason for anyone to EVER hire an attorney for anything to do with this procedure, IMHO

    be well,

    JB

  9. I think you'll be fine doing it alone if you have an easy case. It will need some time to figure out what forms are needed and what to state on them. But thanks to VJ, its members, and a lot of great guides online it is possible to manage that yourself. We did it, and didn't have much trouble so far.

    Lawyers are waste of $!

  11. Just to clarify. It's not that I'm disappointed with the lawyers work. It's just that when I paid them to do a job, I had the expectation they would be able get the job done faster than I would. I realized that my expectations were misplaced, as their primary value is to complete applications, and send/receive documents. Plus they are not saving me a lot of time and work, as I'm the one responsible to send the information to the lawyer for the forms/gather documents and send to lawyer/call USCIS to make inquiries.

I have learned a lot about the process through VJ and also have relatives who have gone/ are going through immigration and I at this juncture just do not see a reason to have a lawyer. Obviously I do not want to remove the lawyer if it would cause any communication delays in the process. We are currently waiting for NOA2 so I acknowledge that I would have to make the move sooner than later because once we get NOA2 things will get faster and more correspondence with the immigration authorities will be needed.

Problem is, instead of just sending the docs to USCIS yourself, you have to send them to your lawyer, and then he sends them to USCIS. So even if they do a great job, there is still that delay. Also, to the lawyer, your just some papers. They could care less about your case. They got their money up front. If your case sits on their desk for 3 months, there's not a damn thing you can do about it. There's no good reason for them to do a good job, AND if they don't, there is no re-course for you.
