  1. Good day! I just talked to my sisters in the philippines and my mom pass away this morning( US Time). She didn`t respond anymore in the medicine and she didnt make it.

Please include my mom in your prayers for the Eternal Repose of her soul.

What is my option now? Do I have options. I am so depressed because of this. Can I go home even I don`t have advance parole? I don`t know what to do right now?

Thank u so much and God bless us all!

    Love,

    Netscot

I'm so sorry to hear that. (F)

  3. My fiance passed his interview yesterday. february the 12th, and up until now we still could not believe it! almost two long years since we met and finally, it's time he comes over here and start our new life, our new family. And, on this great victory we have achieved, I have everyone here at visajourney to thank for. If not for this forum, I don't think we would've gone through this process smoothly. This goes out to everyone, THANK YOU!

Now for those who are still waiting for NOA2, just hang in there...your day will come. I never thought this day would come, QUICK!

For those just waiting for the interview date: Just be yourself. Review the most common things that you ought to know about your fiance/fiancee and you'll be fine. and oh, like what my fiance told me: Answer from the heart...it'll just all come out naturally as you answer...

Now for the questions they asked:

    PRE-SCREENER

    1. why do you have so many call records?

    2. how did you meet?

    3. when did you meet in person?

    4. what does you fiancee do for a living?

    Congratulation!!!!!

    5. can i see some of your pictures?

    6. have you met your fiancee?

    7. how many times did you see each other in person?

    8. have you been married?

    9. was your fiancee married before?

    10. do you have children?

    11. does she have children?

    12. when did she visit you?

    13. what's the address of your fiancee?

    14. what's her parents address in hawaii?

    CONSUL

    1. why do you have so many call records?

    2. how did you meet?

    3. when did you meet in person?

    4. what does you fiancee do for a living?

    5. can i see some of your pictures?

    6. have you met your fiancee?

    7. how many times did you see each other in person?

    8. have you been married?

    9. was your fiancee married before?

    10. do you have children?

    11. does she have children?

    12. when did she visit you?

    13. what's the address of your fiancee?

    14. was she born in hawaii?

    15. when did she move to the u.s. mainland from hawaii?

As you can see, the consul really grilled my fiance and asked the same questions at least twice. She was very, and I mean, very upset that we had 10 pounds worth of evidence, most of which, were call records.

Consul:"if you think your gonna convince me to approve your visa by giving me a lot of these call record print-outs, your wrong! This won't help."

My fiance: Ma'am, I'm sorry. We thought that the more evidence we had, the easier it will be to prove our genuine relationship to you.

Consul: "In america, words are powerful. Just don't lie. We believe in your words. And you don't have to bring all these."

The statements above were said so many times over and over again until my fiance started shedding tears thinking that we were going to be denied.

My fiance literally started crying really hard because he thought that all our plans, our hopes, and our dreams were being flushed down the drain. Then the consul, staring at my fiance and at all the evidence that we had, started crying too. And so did her assistant sitting right behind her.

Consul sobbing: "You really love her"

Then, tearfully, she said: I'm gonna approve your visa. I can see that you really love her so much. She's very lucky that you're like that. She's lucky to have you. All I did was to see if she'll be okay with you. The relationship is running very strong and will be doing great in the future. That's all. Good luck and welcome to america! (wiping her tears away to maintain her composure)

LESSON LEARNED: Don't overdo your evidence especially the ones for proving your relationship. I mean, it's nice to have a substantial quantity but not TOO MUCH.

    Thanks again everyone!!!

    Congratulation!!!! Good luck!

  4. Hi there

This is all new to me because as of 3 days ago my fiance went into the Egyptian Military for 13 months. I understand for the first 45 days it is training and they are not allowed any contact with the outside world, but does anyone know if they can contact you after that or when do they get vacation? I have heard that they get a week after the 45 days but I'm not sure how true that is.

If anyone has information on this who has experienced it with their partners already or is currently going through it, please could you let me know.

    Any info will be helpful.

    Thanks

You should probably get in touch with Olivia about this. She can help you as her husband is in Egyptian Mil right now.

My husband is being in military for 1 year and 7 months(9 more months to go). He is getting his vacation every month for 10 days(sometimes more). Since his military, i visited him 2 times(just came back a month ago,was there for 39 days). Every time i was there he got longer vacation, as same as i was there. My hubby is smart and he started to have a connection with an officers in there from the begin, that is how he is getting a little better treatment. Also he has a cellphone. I'm calling him every two days and texting eachother every day. it is very hard but there is nothing we can do. I wish you and other couples all the best.

  5. hi everyone...tomorrows my day...im sending my I 130 package...yehey finally (after studying this thing since december instead of spending for a lawyer!)

if anyone wants to join me on this thread...lets share stories...advices...etc!

GOOD LUCK TO US! AND GOD BLESS US ALL ....

I just send my hubby's petition today. We are married since 01/06/2007 but do to his Egyptian military service(he will be done in Octobre) i wasn't able to send earlier.

  6. Hi all. Here's why I ask this question. The other day a neighbor/good friend knocked on my door and asked if I'd like to come over and have a beer. Normally I wouldn't, but my kids are away, I was home alone and bored. So one beer leads to six and a mixed drink  ...and by the time I get home I'm a bit tipsy. My fiance isn't here in the US yet(soon though), so in my drunken silliness I buzz him on yahoo and try to wake him to chat (he leaves yahoo and his cam on at night). He doesn't wake up, but my typing looked something like this "hiiiiiiiiii bbay. wkae up..oh negvfermind icant type im drunk" :bonk:

So I woke up I saw what I had written, was a little embarrassed, and figured he might be upset that I had one(or a few) too many. Well, he was more than a little upset. It bothered him to the point he didn't speak to me for most of the day. He cooled off and we discussed it. Turns out he would rather I didn't drink at all. Now he's not insisting I don't, he wouldn't do that, just asking me not to. For all of you non-muslim women with muslim husbands, how does your husband feel about alcohol? Does he mind if you have some wine? Do you refrain from drinking at his request?

My husband knows than i'm drinking once in a wile. Sometimes he tells me to stop drinking, but i drink only 2-3 beers(i don't get drunk). As long as i tell him where i am and got home save, than he is okay. When i go to Egypt to see him, he is drinking with me(1-3 beers), but he get drunks with 1 beer
