  1. hi carol mae..thank you so much again, hopefully we wont have any problem since we were just now applying for my aos.nice to hear from u again.God bless.

by the way if u have facebook account invite me cause i barely check my friendster account now..were all doing okey, mylea just had her 1st birthday last saturday.

one more question carol..i talked to this girl from alaska that i met before at st lukes,i asked her if really need to go to a civil surgeon that is affiliated by uscis..she told me that she just went to a health center and everything was okey.

  2. hello...how"s everyone??hope this one help(";

    I-485 (Adjustment of Status)

    picture 2 pcs 2x2

    birth certificate

Photocopy of passport biographical page and K1 visa page

    photocopy of I-94 arrival/departure record

Form G-325A Biographic Information Sheet (immigrant)

Form I-864 Affidavit of Support (by USC) with photocopies of supporting documents: This varies by each applicant so here's generic suggestions

    ---Employment letter

---3 tax returns including copies of W2s (Photocopy)

    ---six recent pay stubs (Photocopy)

(If needed)Form I-864 Affidavit of Support (by Co-sponsor) with photocopies of supporting documents:

---Proof of co-sponsors citizenship/status, ie US birth ceritificate, bio page of passport, naturalization papers, or LPR status

    ---Employment letter

---3 tax returns including copies of W2s (Photocopy)

    ---six recent pay stubs (Photocopy)

Photocopy of I-797 Notice of Action, I-129 Petition Approval Notice from USCIS (That's your NOA2)

    Certified copy of Marriage Certificate

Photocopy of Form I-94 Arrival/Departure record (card from the plane, may be stapled in passport)

Form I-693 with the immunization section filled out by a US Civil Surgeon, signed and sealed

    I-765 (Employment Authorization)

Photocopy of passport biographical page and K1 visa page

Photocopy of Form I-94 Arrival/Departure record

    picture 2 pcs 2x2

    I-131 (Advance Parole travel document)

    Picture 2pcs 2x2

Photocopy of passport biographical page and K1 visa page

Photocopy of Form I-94 Arrival/Departure record

And a check for $1010 made out to the U.S Department of Homeland Security

That's 3 separate applications with supporting evidence all mailed together in one envelope with one check. They will get processed in different places, so that's why the duplication of evidence. You don't have to do all three, but the second two are free if sent with the AOS and will get you authorized to work or travel sooner than waiting for the green card to arrive in most cases. Green card could take 2-6 months. Work and travel 30-90 days.

Do not work until the I-765 is approved and you have the EAD card

Do not leave the US until the I-131 is approved (K1s) and you get the travel documents or you will not be allowed back in. Once you have a green card, then no problem.

    Goodluck hope this one help

  6. i have a friend from alaska and applied for aos..now she went to social security office to apply social security number but they told her to wait for her adjustment of status before she can apply ssn?is that true?

    karen

sounds like her 1-94 was already expired that's why she's told to wait for her AOS approval.

the usual course is you get an SSN before you apply for AOS (after you arrive in the US, before or after you get married)

but she'll be able to get one when she gets her GC

hi..thank so much,i just went to ss office earlier and applied for my ss# and i didnt have any problem.

Did your friend applied for EAD? Some SSN office are behind re immigration, so if the go back to that same office with all the necessary documents and ask for a supervisor there, or go to a different SSN office.

yes she appliad for ead..i'll let her know about this, thanks.

  8. Hi all,

yes!! my fiancee visa is approved and she is just waiting to receive it.(due to the recent typhoon/flooding in the Phil. the US embassy is closed and might have caused more delay) She is also 8 months pregnant and might not be allowed to travel. here are my questions:

1.Once she receives her k1 visa how long is it good for? because she might have to give birth in the Philippines.

2.If the baby is born in the Philippines can the baby be added to her petition. or is this what you would consider k2 (this is a whole new catergory for me that im still researching) your experience or feedback is greatly appreciated.

    Thanks!

hi there gerjoel..u can call fedex(i just forgot the number that u can call)and tell them that u want to receive a CRBA application form and US passport application, then they will send u all the requirements u need to gather and when ur ready with all the requirements they need just call them back for pick up and they will deliver it to the embassy, its much easier..that's what we did when we apply for our daughter's crba.

 Yep. Been there done that. It's really no big deal. Why do you ask? Do you just want to tell your brothers friend the procedure or is there some reason for concern?

  10. Hello,

My fiancee just got here on a visa that expires in 90 days. It clearly states that she has to marry me within the 90 days or she has to go back home. We have a baby together, but she decided to leave us. She left with her uncle thinking she can become a permanent residence without me. Her uncle told me he'll hire a laywer to do the paper work for her to stay here as a permanent residence without me at all. I then asked him how is that possible sir? He said he can tell the laywer i abused h or threw her out of the house, therefore she has the right to report this and get permanent residency. I can't believed they would make up such a lie for her to stay. Is it true that she can stay in the US as a permanent without me? I thought she has to marry me within 90 days or she has to leave the US?? i am thinking to hired a lawyer but first i need your help

westernboi, maybe you and Calilove have something in common here. Your stories almost sound similar.

    1. Calilove has a baby with his fiance, who is here on K1 and who is also from Vietnam and who left to visit her family with their baby without telling him about it.

    2. You too are on a K1, fiance's from Vietnam, you have a baby, and her family is involved and seem to be causing trouble for you.

    Calilove's story:

    http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.ph...p;#entry3307416

And I thought I was the only person thinking the same thing: How Westernboi's story sounded precisely the same as Calilove's story. Thank you for recognizing it as well.

Isn't it considered much harder to get fiancee visas granted out of the US Embassy Vietnam? I wonder why? I feel for you westerboi after all the time, trouble and expense to get her here, only to have her bail on you. I hope you get your kid back as well. God Bless.

This isn't a "Vietnam thing". I'd love to see the numbers out of Manilla. I'd wager they're about the same as to the amount of fraud.

 I agree but in regards to the RP I'd say fraud is even more prevalent within the provinces.

  11. I have a friend who went here on a K1 visa but was sent home by her fiance after only 12 days of stay here. Reason given to her was that he can't get along with her son from a previous relationship who btw, is barely 2 years old. The guy decided to put their wedding on hold because of the kid's inability to like him. I told my friend that his reasoning is totally absurd and thought that her fiance is just using her son as an excuse to get rid of her, but bottomline is he really is dumping her for good. Not to mention that the guy actually hit her kid on their 2nd day here for crying too much. Ridiculous!

Anyhow, she wants to know if she can be petitioned by the same person after 2 years and push through with their wedding plans? the guy actually told her that he will just wait until her kid is old enough to to like him.

Will appreciate your thoughts on this matter. Thanks!

WoW! He actually hit her child! Your friend should consider herself lucky that she went back home. You have already given her good advice but I would do everything I could to convince her that this guy has no place in her and especially her child's life. Truly sad.

  12. Hi everyone!!!! I just got off the fed-ex website and the USCIS has received my package!!!!! The countdown begins!!!! My question in simple I talked to the soon to be wifey last night and she said that she went and got her police clearance,an affidavit ( her bc had a letter of it had her names spelled Pamila instead of Pamela) and her passport photos.......she also got something else that for the life of me I cant remember what it is now(i think cemonar)!!!! lol......she said that today she is going to get her NBI clearance and Passport. My question is if she is doing all this too soon? Will she have to do it all over again when the interview is closer or will it be ok? Thanks VJr's!!!!!......WE ARE ON OUR WAY!!!!

Sounds like your SO really has it together. That's great and as others have said it relieves a lot of stress when you are prepared well inadvance of the interview. In regards to testing, the sputum test seems to be the big thing that can really set you back time wise if your So was to test positive but we'll hope that's not the case. Good luck on your journey.

  13. I called up NVC this morning and the operator told me *again* that our case hasn't been received by NVC yet. I'm just wonderin' why a lot of people has been getting theirs 2-3 weeks after the approvals, and ours has been approved more than a month ago. anybody else in the same boat?

I know a couple of people that got their approval about the same time you did and there still waiting for the NVC too. Not sure what the deal is. Hang in there and hopefully you'll receive your case number soon. Good luck.

  14. I was wondering if there is a good water filter I could buy and send to my wife's family. (or have them buy there) They live out in the provinces and the water quality is not the best.

So I was wondering if there was a filter that would provide good-quality water from the local tap water? I thought it would be better for them to have pure water, plus it keep me from having to buy lots of bottled water when we go visit.

I don't really know the quality of the water where they live, but everyone has always told me to buy drinking water when I go.

Also, if we ever decide to build a place there are there any good water systems we could install?

    Hey Michael,

Man I don't know. I'm sure there are water purification systems that you could buy but even when your in the metro areas like Manila they still discourage you from drinking the tap water even at 5 star hotels, atleast the ones I have stayed at, or the resorts in Boracay. You know they will have little signs in the bathrooms..uh sorry, comfort rooms that say please don't drink water from the faucet and you don't see drinking fountains in any of the malls so I would say that you're probably better off sticking with the bottled water. Better safe than sorry. Take care. Mike l

  15. Hey Joe, I gotta agree with ya. It doesn't seem to make any sense at all that there have been so many touches on a petition that has already been approved two weeks earlier but there doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason to the way USCIS and the NVC handles any of the petitions. I guess I would take some comfort in the fact that atleast you know they haven't lost it but as long as you have waited and as patient as you have been I'm sure it's hard to find comfort in anything when dealing with USCIS in this incredibly long and ridiculously drawn out process.
