Hello everyone! Just an update. My mom passed her interview last June 11 at the Manila US Embassy.

Here are some questions the consul asked her:

-what is your relationship to the petitioner?

-how and when did she(me) come to the US?

-what is the job of your son-in-law (my husband)?

-when was the last time you saw each other?

-then she asked for a couple of our family pictures.

That's it. They didn't ask her for anything else. She passed! I also checked her visa status at CEAC and it shows "ISSUED". Her visa is authorized for printing. Hopefully we'll get it next week.

Hello everyone! just an update! I called NVC on May 05, 2014 and was told my mom's case is already complete. Got the official email notification for case complete May 07, 2014. Then today I received my mom's interview appointment letter which is scheduled for June 11, 2014, 6:15am at the embassy in Manila, Philippines!

No need For Saudi Police cert If Ur Mom Is No Longer In Saudi. If u Receive A checklist About Saudi Police Cert Just. Call Nvc

Thanks jasmine05! I called NVC last night. And yes it was a false checklist and was told to just disregard it. They already have the response to my previous checklist. Well I hope there's no more delays for us. Hoping for a case complete anytime now!

i received same greek message lol..but mine was asking for my dads saudi arabia police cert so its false checklist ...

That's why i got confused, it was in greek. Anyway about your dad's saudi police certificate, were you able to obtain one? Because my mom was an ofw too and she worked in saudi for so many years. The last time she was there was in 2011. Are we required to get one? I've read saudi gov't don't issue police certificate for those non-nationals who are not in their country anymore.

It didn't really specify anything and besides, it is written in different characters. It's probably a false checklist, right?..

Hello fellow Vjers! Hope everyone is doing well. I'm new to this thread but I've been checking it once in a while. I just received an email update from the USCIS --- my mom's petition got approved!!!! It has just been less than two months since i filed it. Wow! I didn't expect it to be this quick, as I've seen a lot here have waited for a long time. I am just so grateful! Below is my complete IR5 timeline:

October 15, 2013 - sent I-130 petition for Mom

October 16, 2013 - receipt date (Overland Park, Kansas)

November 22, 2013 - received a notice, case was transferred to TSC

December 13, 2013 - email update, petition approved!

Hello everyone!!! Finally I am now a US Citizen!

So I had my oath this morning, 9:30am at Raleigh-Durham Field Office, North Carolina. My husband went with me and we got there 20 minutes early. The set-up was like this in Raleigh-Durham office--the guests are asked to proceed to the ceremony hall (the ceremony hall has a green line in the middle that separates the ones to be naturalized and the guests.) While the candidates for naturalization are asked to go to the waiting room across the ceremony hall. While at the waiting room, a USCIS officer checks and reviews the form N-445 pointing out to the questions at the back if they are all answered correctly. Then they made us fall in line and proceed to the ceremony hall, gave the form N-445 to another officer, showed her my 2 GC's (my 2 year conditional gc and my 10 year gc). Approaching the entrance of the hall, I handed over my 2 GC's to another officer and had me wait until the person in front of me finds a seat, before I can proceed and take my seat too. On every chair there is a small American flag, the programme and a white envelope with some stuffs (brochure, booklets-US Constitution and the US almanac, information for passport application). We waited for about 5-10 minutes until everyone is settled. And then the ceremony proper-- It started with the singing of the national anthem (Star-Spangled Banner). Then welcoming remarks from the acting field officer. Then a video was shown, entitled 'The Many Faces of America". Then after that the "Call of Nations", this part they will call each nation/country in no particular order and you will have to stand when your country is called. Then after this the Oath proper. Everybody who are able, stands up, raise our right hand and repeat the oath after the officer. After that a congratulatory video from President Obama was shown. Then after this a newly naturalized citizen led us in the Pledge of Allegiance to the flag. Then a closing remarks from the acting field officer and lastly a video entitled "God bless the USA/America" was shown. And that was it, the end of the ceremony. So after all that they told us to stand row by row to get our Certificate of Citizenship and a Voter registration application. All in all we were 59 who got naturalized coming from 26 nations/countries. The ceremony took about 30-35 minutes. We were done at around 10:30am. And btw, cameras are allowed during the ceremony, but only upon taking the oath. After the ceremony everyone can take more pictures in the ceremony hall.

So that was it my whole visa journey! The journey is really the treasure!..

Congratulations!!!

This is another one of these mysteries how USCIS works. My wife had her interview on the same day at the same office. She has not heard anything since. No change in status on the web site - still showing "on 6/3/2013 we sent you interview letter". #######?

Tygrys i actually thought you'd received your wife's oath letter today since we were interviewed the same day and we both have been approved. I understand for different district offices the processing times depends on the bulk of applications. But within the same office, that i don't understand and you're right it's one of USCIS' mysteries. Well anyway you should be receiving your wife's oath letter anytime now.

I know right. I was like wow! That was fast! A day after my interview i received an email update saying i was put in line for oath. Then the next day i got an email again saying they've scheduled me and sent me a notice for the oath ceremony, which i got in the mail today. This Naturalization processing is actually the fastest, quickest, shortest processing i've had with the USCIS eversince i started my visajourney! I can't believe i'm done, well not until i take my oath.. Haha but that's in a week!

Today I received an email saying i am in line for oath ceremony! Should be expecting my oath letter any day now.

@immibie: I gave the officer a copy of our marriage certifiate, bc of our son who was born here in the US, our 2012 tax return and a copy of our home and auto insurance. I also brought extra copies of our joint bank accounts, but he didn't take them anymore and said what i gave him was already sufficient.

Congrats to your wife Tygrys!

Had my interview and testing today 07/08/ 2013, 10am at Raleigh/Durham, NC. And my application is recommended for approval!

Got there with my husband 15 minutes early. I was called in at around 10:15am. The officer started with a sworn testimony. Then he asked for my ID, passport, and GC and some proof of marriage. I handed him a copy of my husband's US passport and naturalization certificate, our marriage certificate and our son's birth certificate. He only took a copy of our 2012 tax return and he said he doesn't need the previous ones anymore because they were already in my I751 application. Then he did a runthrough of those "yes or no" questions found in the N400 form. Then he started with the testing, first the English vocabulary test (reading and writing). He had me read aloud this statement. "What state has the most people?" Then on the other paper He asked me to write the answer which was "California has the most people".. something like that. haha.. then he proceeded with the civics test, I answered the first six questions correctly which were:

-what is one right on the first amendment of the constitution?

-who is in charge of the Executive branch?

-During the cold war, what is the main problem?

-If the president can no longer serve, who will take his place

-why did the colonist came to america?

-there are 4 amendments to the constitution about who can vote, give one.

Then he handed me a paper with all my details and double checked that everything is spelled correctly. I also signed the last page of the N400 application and the 2 passport photos. Finally he handed me the N-652 form with a check mark on the box "Congratulations! Your application has been recommended for approval." All in all it took I think 15 minutes. It was a quick and relaxed interview. And the Officer was very nice. Now I just have to wait for my oath letter.

Actually when I filed my application, I didn't know that I have to attach some other documents supporting the marriage. I only sent the N400 form, Check, 2 passport photos and copy of my 10-year green card. I am not sure what is the impact of this with my application. I'm guessing i will be getting an RFE. But I do hope it won't take a long delay on my application.

Got my 10 year gc and congratulatory letter from the USCIS in the mail today, 12/10/12.

By the way, when you sign up for the email and text notification, it will also notify you when they mail your gc and when USPS pick it up for delivery.

I just got my ASC appointment notice in the mail today. And I'm scheduled for biometrics on April 27, 2012 at Raleigh-Durham office.
