  1. Waited for an hour and a half in the waiting room. The interview itself lasted three minutes. The questions to my wife were:

    1. What is your mother's name?

    2. What is your father's name?

    3. Are you a member of any groups?

    4. Have you ever been to America on a different visa?

    5. Have you ever been deported?

    6. Have you ever received government assistance?

She looked at our joint bank statement, life insurance showing Vika is my beneficiary, and her health insurance card. Then she said the green card would arrive in three to four weeks. She never looked at our photos or my tax returns. I think she wanted to finish quickly because it was almost time for lunch :) Best of luck to those who are interviewing soon.

  2. Vika has been in America for 10 days now. She is adjusting well but last night we had our first "incident". She used Dawn dishwashing liquid in the dishwasher and soon the floor was covered in suds. She could not understand why I thought it was so funny as I was using the wet vac. It sort of reminded me of the classic Brady Bunch episode when Bobby tried to use the washing machine. :)

    Have a great day!

  3. English, Spanish, and German for me. I was an exchange student in Guadalajara, Mexico for a year and I still have lots of practice working with ELL (English Language Learner) students.

My fiancee is a native Russian speaker but she also speaks Ukrainian, Polish, Czech, and English. I am trying to learn Russian so I can speak to Mama, but it is very difficult.

    Я люблю мою Русскоязычную жену!

  4. CONGRATULATIONS!! :D I can only begin to imagine how excited you are right now!! How soon will your lady be stateside?

We were much luckier at NVC. Our KEV number was assigned six days after the NOA-2 and our stuff left NVC! Through the wonders of DHL tracking, I have figured out our package made it to Kyiv yesterday, so I'll impatiently give it a few more days and then start wasting my money on PINs until they give us an interview time!! :clock:

 I ended up buying three PINs because I was calling so much!!

  5. We had the interview yesterday and we were approved!! We need to wait for them to FedEx Vika's passport to her home with the visa and then we will be America bound! A huge weight has been lifted.

Hang in there all you K-1 applicants. I know the process can push your patience to the limit but the end result is so wonderful that you will forget about all the anxiety you went through.

    до свидания

  6. Hello,

My fiancee has her K1 interview on October 22. She will be traveling from Poltava to Kyiv probably on the 20th. Are there any good hotels or apartments near the embassy? She does not know Kyiv well and she is very worried about where she will stay. Any advice from people who have been through the process would be most welcome.

  7. Hello all,

I called the NVC on August 19 and they told me that my petition was sent on August 18 to the embassy in Kyiv. OK that was very good news but since then I have received four identical letters with different dates from the NVC telling me that the petition is being forwarded. Why would they send me four letters? Has anyone else received so many verifications?

  8. I am here impatiently waiting with you!!! I called DOS yesterday and NVC today LOL....yup still nothing on our stuffs and we got our NOA2 on 8/8/08 was hoping that would bring us luck on the rest of this process! Haha....waiting waiting waiting how I hate it!

Just got off the phone with NVC and they received the petition today! Now all that worrying about mailroom gremlins stealing the petition can stop :) Hope you hear soon!

  9. OK we received our NOA2 from CSC on 7/31. I called NVC on 8/12 and our petition is still not in the system. I see other couple's timelines who received their NOA2 on the same day or later from CSC and have already cleared NVC. The nice lady at NVC told me that it can take from 2 to 4 weeks and I should try calling then. I thought things were going to speed up now but it seems like I am stuck in another black hole  . I am frustrated and I just wanted to vent. My apologies to those of you who have been waiting longer than I.

  10. Hmmmm.... April K-1 filers at CSC must be very shy about posting

Thought I'd post again and see if any movement has begun for anyone. I have noticed that the K-3's seem to be moving much faster than K-1's. Maybe the pace will start to pickup :innocent:

    CSC filer here!

I received the NOA1 on April 1, some 120 days ago. My USCIS status page shows my I29f is still untouched. I'm guessing at an early September NOA2, but I won't be surprised if it takes a bit longer. I'll post here if anything develops.

I never saw a touch until the day we were approved (7/31). My NOA1 was also April 1. I am sure you will be hearing very soon!
