  1. Had my biometrics done this afternoon at ASC SF as walked in..original biometrics appt on July 8 but USCIS cancelled it and when we got home we got a mail from USCIS for the new schedule of my biometrics on July 23 but ASC told us dont mind it if we received that..

So I guess we weren't the only once who did this, we got our 7/10 appointment cancelled and then they rescheduled for 7/14. I had already changed my work schedule to make the appointment for 7/10 so we walked in today. There was no line, no wait and I just showed them the original appointment notice (for 7/10) and they did the fotos and fingerprints, we were in and out in 10 minutes.

There shouldn't be any problems when we don't show up on 7/14 right?

  2. Just wanted to thank everyone, the visa went fine, there were no problems with any of the paperwork or RFEs, the interview was about 2 min. Now we're on to English and finding her a job/school

Anyone have any advice on how to teach a fiancee to drive? We've been working on it, but man I feel like my mom all freaking out in the passenger seat.

    Good luck everyone!

  3. My Fiancees interview date is all ready to go and I am going to visit her on March 23 in Peru, but I currently have two first names: Nick and Nicholas.

My NOA1, NOA2 and NVC notification say Nick

I always go by Nick and my social security card says Nick

My work and W-2 have me as Nick

    My birth certificate says Nicholas

    My license says Nicholas

    My passport says Nicholas

My bank knows me as Nick

Which should I put on my affidavit of support?

Is this going to be a problem?

  4. Hi, my fiance is from Chile and things in the Peruvian embassy are done similar. I imagine you are the petitioner, so yes it is comon that they get that info with a cover letter saying all that you need to bring to the interview. She has to gather some docs. and bring them to the interview and some others she has to send to the embassy before the interview. They didn't send her an affidavit of support form?. If you are going to be there for the interview then bring the affidavit with you!. Here on VJ is all the info on how to fill the forms (Click Example Forms) and if you got more questions I am here to help.

That's good to hear thank you for the help, she has a friend who is filing a K-3 visa telling her that she really doesn't need to send anything to the embassy before the interview eventhough she read to me that there were some documents saying "imediatamente" hay que enviar tal y tal cosa o no pueden seguir procesando el caso... Do you think her friend is mistaken or did you send the thing in right away. Yes I am flying down next month, to be there with her and she's not leaving my side again. Do you know if we can do the interview in Spanish? She is still learing english. Her friend also told her that we need a letter from someone else saying that they can support her as a back-up. I have a full-time job that pays pretty well so I don't need to worry about that right?

  5. My Fiancee received her appointment date, packet 3, medical exam info and affidavit of support on the same day. Is this typical? They haven't sent me any affidavit of support or information about paying any bills and I'm going to be supporting her. Was this your experience? Do I need to send her an affidavit of support from the internet or can I bring it to the interview since we already have the appointment date?

    Thanks

  6. Just to clarify, Remember the Packet 3 is a checklist that indicates you have all of the documents ready to be submitted. Once the embassy/consulate receives your packet 3 they will schedule the interview, and then you will be asked to submit the forms such as the Affadavit of Support, etc. Check your specific embassy/consulate website for specific instructions.

With the packet they sent an "Appointment date" that is the interview isn't it?

  7. The Affadavit of support gets sent to the beneficiary as part of the Packet 3, as the beneficiary is supposed to submit those documents to the emabassy/consulate. However you are correct, that you need to fill it out. Simply download the form from USCIS and/or Department of State, fill it out, and send the appropriate documentation to your spouse. Good Luck!!

Great that clears things up a lot, will do!

  8. Hi,

This is my first post here so please be gentle.

Me and my Fiancee met late February of 2008 on the internet. I had conversations with her and emails up until I went and visited her for a little less than three weeks in late June 2008. Since I got back we have been chatting or talking on the phone daily. We have tons of pictures together with me and her including her family. I understand a short courtship may be negative points but I have sent her $900 so that she can study English and I have a stable job, does that sort of stuff earn me any points? If the K1 is rejected do I have to reapply and wait 6 plus more months or can I just visit her again and get a joint bank account or something?

    Thanks,

    Nick
