what did you say for why are you getting married there?
She said that question kind of caught her off guard. But her response was: "Most of his family is in the U.S. so we decided to have an engagement ceremony here and the marriage there."

Can you tell me, how long did the interview last?
Interview lasted about 10 minutes. She said it wasn't bad.

FYI, Here are the questions that my fiancee was asked:
Where does he live?
What part of the city?
How often do you chat?
When did you last speak to him?
What does he do there?
What do you currently do?
Have you ever been to the U.S.?
Is this your first marriage?
Is this his first marriage?
How did you meet each other?
If you got engaged here, then why are you getting married there?
It's 11 AM here right now. What time is it there?
What type of degree do you have?
What subject is your degree in?
Your Visa is approved. Congratulations.
Hope this helps.

What has everyone done regarding phone records? We both use Reliance/Airtel, so phone bills show the toll free access numbers, not our actual numbers. Any input?

The two forms are affidavits of support.
The I-134 is normally used by the embassy to make sure you have a sponsor that meets the poverty level.
The I-864 is used when you AOS - it is more legally binding than the I-134. (it also has more ways to make up the level needed).
Can't speak for that embassy, the one in Turkey had a list and said we are to get the medical down before the interview date (10 days or so before).
VFS? not familiar with that - do you have a link where it talks about it?

Ah - looks like the embassy outsourced the visa processing to VFS. VFS will do the initial processing than pass it to the embassy if it passes.
They probably did this to speed up the process.
Kinda of ironic, outsourcing while in India.
HAHAHA. Good one. I see.
What about the medical exam? Is there a need to wait for Packet 4 to be mailed or should I just have my fiance schedule an appointment now considering the locations/doctors are provided on the embassy's website?

What is the difference? Which is needed for what?
Also, does the embassy issue you a medical exam date or are you supposed to do this on your own? And what is this VFS business? You're supposed to submit the documents at a VFS office PRIOR to your interview? Does the VFS office forward them to the embassy for your interview? This all seems quite circuitous.

Does the I-134 Affidavit of Support have to be sent with the Applicant's Statement and DS-230 Part 1? The packet was mailed to my fiance but when I emailed the embassy they also attached the Applicant's Statment and DS-230 in the email response. On the Applicant's Statement, at the bottom it says
Enclosures:
1) I-134
2) DS-230 Part 1
3) Photo Instructions

I received my approval notice for the I-129F dated March 25, 2009. The notice reads:
"The above petition has been approved, and forwarded to the listed consulate. Please contact the consulate with any questions about visa issuance, or if you would now like them to forward the petition to a different consulate..."
Is there something I should do now or will the consulate (consulate means embassy in fiance's country right?) handle the next step - i.e. send package/paper work to fiance?

Are there any people on here who received their NOA1 in July 2008 that have not received their NOA2 yet?
-
K-1 Visa
How is it possible that applications with NOA1's of august and even september have been issued NOA2's before those of NOA1's of June and July (all at the same service service center - Vermont)? Does anyone have an idea? Or are people just inputting their timeline iformation incorrectly? I'm confused. Is it country specific? I assumed they would process cases chronologically, no?
-
What is the meaning of "Touched" that I keep seeing in some people's timelines? When I check my case online all it says is that they issued NOA1 on July 28, 2008. Could there be something wrong with my application (I-129F)? It's been almost 6 months since I received NOA1. Is it normal for me not to have heard from them since then?
Biometrics Apointment (EAD)
in Working & Traveling During US Immigration

I received the NOA for EAD July 15, 2009. I have not heard from USCIS regarding biometrics appointment. The NOA says they will schedule a date and notify us. Is this within processing times? I noticed almost everyone on this site has already been approved for EAD let alone not received bio appointment.
