  2. Congrats Bebegrace on your approval!

thank you everyone! the thing is both application were approved and we dont know which one to pursue.. my husband wants to stick with k3 coz he thinks its a lot faster but i told him to stick with i130 so that we dnt have to adjust my status when i get there but i dnt really know what to do..

and what should we be expecting to happen next? are we gonna get certain procedures from nvc?

    Hi,

Considering you can also expedite the NVC part, I would personally definitely go for the IR-1/CR-1. It makes it a lot easier for you once you are in the US: you will not have to go to the trouble of filing AOS, you will not lose more cash, and you will get your SSN shortly after arrival and will be able to work, etc. We had hte same reasoning as your husband, went for K-3 (we did not want to overcomplicate matters at the Consulate and we did not want extra paperwork at that time), and I must say I now regret that.

But K-3 is alright too, of course. And it is your choice.

If you do choose the green card route, definitely ask your congressman for help during the next step.

Congrats again on your approval, enjoy it!

yea that's what i thought so.. but at the moment he's having the same reasons like you did.

so what do i have to expect in k3? what's the procedures? am i gonna receive something coz my husband is telling me that he'll send me the approval notice and im gonna have to give it to the embassy is that right?

  4. hi bebe grace! let your husband call the military helpline in USCIS and inquire about your case,

    http://www.uscis.gov/files/nativedocuments...ineBookmark.pdf

Or she can also take Joggie's advice and actually read this entire thread, along with the thread called 'expedite tips', that was also started by KipandSarahJayne (also in the IR-1/CR-1 Forum). All the info is already there, you just have to read it.

thank you everyone. my husband called the uscis and had been told to wait w/in 45 days what do u think it will be?

    approval?

  5. hi everyone..

we've filed our case last aug of 2008 and got our noa1 like a week after filing but then it's been 8 months already and we still havent got any approval yet . will somebody help us with what to do..

i really wanna get through VSC and not just any call center agent. please.. thank you

Well what's your story? Is your husband in the military? Does he have orders?

yea he's in the army and we met when he was stationed in japan and got married here in the philippines last feb2008. he sent the application (I130) august of last year and got NOA1 of the same month. He made another application which is I129f last october 2008 thinking that i can get there faster. But we dont think its workin out so he sent an expedite request but didnt get a reply from them.. He made another expedite request but still no nothing coming from the USCIS. It's been almost 8 months already but we havent got any approval yet..

it would be better if your husband calls uscis... and tell them you ve been waiting so long.... husband asked for expedite while at uscis but we were already approved when he did and we didnt know it yet... now im waiting for hubby to send me his deployment orders to try and expedite nvc.... i hope it will work out!!

    goodluck to all!!

Yeah it pretty much says on here what you need to do in order to get it expedited so just read this thread

i told him to call the VSC.. USCIS wont give us any info .. they dont even know if they've lost our case or whatsoever.. thank you..and goodluck to everyone..

  7. hi everyone! thanks for your quick reply.. i already told my husband about it and he said yea, he'll do what he gotta do..

i was just curious why the uscis didnt send him any receipt when they already received our docs. but instead they told him to submit another set of pics. but at the same time i was thinking that maybe they didnt give a case number yet coz they're still waiting for the pics..

    again thank you guys!

  8. hi im grace and i lived in japan (illegally ) for 7 years and since my mom resides there i was wondering if she can get a police clearance in my behalf to make it faster coz i heard it'll take 3 mos to get it here in the philippines..

do you think it is possible??

    thanks

  9. hi im grace and i really need your help.. my husband told me to apply for a us military dependent id here in the philippines coz he thinks it would help expedite the process and his legal told him that it is possible and gave him the application form.. where should i apply and how?

will you be kind enough to help me out and tell me whatelse to do coz i really wanna be with him before he gets deployed this november..

we're both amateurs in this thing and have totally no idea on what to do except of course by just doing what his legal tells him to do.

    thank you so much
