I got the IIN number in the mail about 2 weeks after the case got to NVC.

IIN Recieved (in mail) and AOS bill payed 09-08-2008

Do I wait for it to say AOS paid to send the forms or can I do it tomorrow?

What are some problems that anyone else here has had? I have read allot of crazy stuff about the police certificates from Peru. Has anyone collected these recently? Any advice is greatly appreciated, Thank You.

it is not big deal... check the previous post, look for more info on VJ page and go and get them. you will need some pictures and in some cases to wait a little bit. it is not big deal, dont worry.

We found this chart from MKCT ( a member in VISAJOURNEY). We used his chard as a guide then we finally did the police certificates but some stuff changed so we modified it with the actual information...

CERTIFICADO JUDICIAL DE ANTECEDENTES PENALES

-Poder Judicial: Av. Abancay en Lima.

-Copia y original del voucher de pago al Banco de La Nacion.

-Costo: S/ 52.50 (Banco de La Nacion)

-1 copia del D.N.I.

-La foto la toman adentro del Poder Judicial (no aceptan fotos)

-Motivo: Exterior.

-Llenar un papel verde que se tiene que pedir adentro.

-Tiempo de proceso: 40-60 min.

-Purpose: To be use abroad.

-Fill out a green paper that you can get inside the building.

-Ellos te daran un formulario, llenarlo y sacar una copia al frente.

-1 foto tamaño CARNET.

-1 copia del D.N.I.

-Tiempo de proceso: 5 dias.

-Hora de recojo de documento: 14.00 hrs - 16.30 hrs.

-El Banco aparte del voucher te dan un formulario llamado CERAPS que tambien tiene que ser entregado.

-1 foto tamaño pasaporte con fondo blanco (la toman tambien adentro cuesta s/. 5 pero es mas rapido si ya la tienes lista)

-Tiempo de proceso: 1 dia.

I have not been in Peru long enough to file at the embasy. So I am doing everything from Peru as if I was living in Colorado (I will go back to Colorado in November). Has anyone done this? Any tips/Advice?

hhhmmm.... if you are keeping your address and filling taxes on the states, i dont think you will have problems. this first stage is more about having met, show none of you have a police record and that's it! my current husband presented letters from his employer on the states and IRS papers to justify income level. if you are woriking for an american company in peru maybe they can give you a letter like if you were on the states or assigned to peru... i dont know....

Translated in english and that is for sure. How do you expect an American official read a document in a different language?

Not true. There are ways for the consulate to read the document if it is in the official language of the country in which the consulate is located. Check the DOS website for more information on what is needed for your specific consulate as supporting documentation for the DS230.

Well, My wife is Iranian and her interview is in Italy. Do they requier to translate everything in Italian?

Probably I am not right, but don't forget you are applying to American Consulate and they only know one language and it is english. They might be able to read some Mandarin.

Is the DS-230 for the NVC or for the embassy? My wife has had visas to the states before and she didn't have to translate any of the documents for the embassy. All of the employees at the United States Embassy in Peru speak both English and Spanish.

I asked two people at NVC if the documents for the DS-230 need translations. They said if they are in English or Spanish they don't need to be translated. I am adding this just for information not advice. Of cource none of them have wanted to give me the IIN yet.

I am doing the CR-1 Just haven't changed it yet in the profile. My wife is 24 This is complete BS, gota love the good ole' USA I am going to talk to my gangressmen and see if there is something that we can do.

Does anyone know about the HPV vaccination? I have read that it is only reccomended for teenage and young wemen. I have also heard that it has had some very bad side effects and it not really as safe as they say. I would prefer that my wife does not get this. Does anyone know any ways around this??

I have been in Peru with my wife since April. I will have my same job when I go back in November, but It will be about 7 months that I didn't work. Should I send the last 6 months that I worked with a letter from my employer? I have a bad feeling about this one.
