  1. i had my aos interview on july 7th at oklahoma city. we were told that we would get something in the mail. i was told that it may either take 2-3 weeks or 2-3 months for that. i cant see my case online so i called them every week but didnt hear anything. so finally on 28th july we went for an infopass to get an idea if we were approved. the officer showed us the file and said that we were approved and that it would take 3 months to get the green card. he also gave I-551 stamp in my passport. its more than a month now but i still have got no word abt the card. i see on the forum that people who have been approved after me have all got their cards.....am i the only one stuck.....

is anyone in the same boat....

  2. i had my interview on the 07/07/09 at oklahoma city. we were told we will recieve something inthe mai in either 2-3 months or 2-3 weeks. we waited for three weeks and did an infopass appt today. he put the I-551 stamp in my passport coz he said that tehre i delay in the printing of green cards. he toldme it would take almost 4 months. i read that a lot of people on this forum have already got their cards. i was wondering if all the cards go to the same place for printing or is there a different location for people from oklahoma

  3. i had my aos interview on 7th july. the officer took my I-94 but not my ead. he said that everything looked okay and we should get should get something in the mail. he did write something on our file but i dont know what it was. he didnt say we were approved and so i asked him if we were. he said that we were and advised me to file for citizenship in three years. i thought we were approved. i cant see my case online but when i called uscis they said that my case was still at the field office and they didnt know why...i an worried now if they need anything more. i was wondering if i should go ahead and set up a infopass appointment.

do you think its okay for a case to remain at the field office after the interview. i usually dont get the right info from uscis. they messed up even after my biometrics saying that they didnt receive it even after FBI sent it a week back. does all the case info get uploaded...i hope the uscis i wrong and my card production has started...

  4. i had my biometrics appointment yesterday. i knew that they would say i had very faint fingerprints. i went there and she took my fingerprints she said that she surely thinks i will have to retake it coz they are not clear. i wonder if she will any clearer ones if i retake it coz i believe that it was as clear as it could be. does anyone know how long it will take for me to get a letter for the second appointment. also she didnt take the ink prints. what if my second fingerprints are like the first one...then whats the next step. i still cant see an of my cases online

    any opinions.....

  6. i think i may have filled out the category on form 765 wrong. i am on k3 visa and we filed for aos and ead simultaneously on 03/03/09. we filled the category as (a)(9) while it was supposed to be ©(9). i have not yet got my NOAs for any of the forms neither is my cheque cashed. i hope its not a very big mistake. i think we may get a rfe for that. anyways there is nothing i can do abt it now. hope we get the noa or rfe soon

  7. i am on a k3 visa. just got here this week. we had been to the local social security office but she said that we could not apply for ssn coz i didnt ahve a ead. is she right or do i need a ssn while applying for aos. also i am just confirming what forms are required- I 485, i 864, I 765 and the G 325a . do we need the form 693 . i ahve the copy of teh form 3025 from my medical fo rthe k3 visa. isnt the A# the same as the one found on the 130 approval. can i apply fo rmy green card on my married name.

  8. I am a little late in writing this. I had my k3 interview at mumbai on 10th feb 2009. my husband had flown down for my interview. We reached the consulate at 6:45 am. They took me in at 7:30 am. My husband (US citizen )was not allowed in. I had my fingerprints taken and then we were called to the counters where the Indian officer gave me back my original marriage and birth certificate. They retained the copies and the original pcc. Then I had to wait till 10 am for my interview with the American officer. She was polite and asked me few questions

    How did you meet?

    What does he do?

How long has he been staying there?

    Where did he study?

Who all are there in his family?

    What does his brother do?

Then she said the long awaited golden words VISA APPROVED and it will be couriered to you. I wanted to collect it at vfs. So she said that I could try but they do not guarantee same day delivery of visa

Now this is a different journey. I went to vfs in the evening but my visa was not there. They said to come and see the next day. I went the next day too but still no passport. I was all sad and doubted whether there was some problem. We rung up DOS and they said interview under review. That was it. I was very upset. We decided to go the consulate the next day. At the inquiry counter we explained our problem to the officer. She asked me to wait for 7 business days but the I said that its two days since the interview and that I had already booked my tickets for the 18th feb. then she punched some numbers and talked to someone. This wait was even worst than the interview. She then told me that there was some system error and so my visa could not get printed. She took my phone number and asked me to come on Tuesday to collect the visa. She asked to go confirm my plans to fly on the 18th feb. some relief.

Same day at 11:30 am I get a call to come back to the consulate for repeat fingerprints. We rushed there. They took me in and retook my fingerprints. I have very faint fingerprints and so they couldn’t process it that was the reason why my visa was delayed. They then asked me to wait for sometime in the consulate. After abt 20 minutes the officer told me that my visa was ready and I should collect it from vfs today itself.

All in all it was a good experience. The mumbai consulate really works well. except for the delay in getting the passport there was no other problem. But even fro the passport delay there promptly cleared it when informed.

Thanks to all the VJ members who helped me through this. All the best to all of you

  10. i did mine at mumbai. i am not sure if the test are the same for both visa but as far as i noticed all the people who ahd come there had to undergo the same procedure. so i am assuming it doesnt matter which visa you use in the immigrant visa category.

i had a blood test - hiv , australia antigen( hbsag) and vdrl. they dont tell what they are doing but they collected blood only once.

    next was a chest xray.

medical examination- they ask you if are pregnant. do a simple examination. tell the doc if you are taking any medications. it doesnt go against you

vaccinations- i am a doctor. i didnt have any records of any vaccines taken. i told her that. it actually doesnt matter.she asked if i had chicken pox(varicella) . if you have never had chickenpox then you need a vaccine for it. otherwise all of us there had to take MMR and Td. two pricks (preferably take it on different arms)

the report and xray is sealed and handed over to you. i didnt have a sputum test. guess if your xray shows some lesion then you may be suspected for it. i dont think you will have any trouble. submitted report to vfs. still have the xray with me. will take it on 10th feb for interview

    hope it helps

    all the best

  11. today i had been to vfs to submit my documents. i had arranged everything mentioned including the proof of relationship. i took out all my papers to submit at the counter but the lady there only took my passport copy, appointment letter copy, birth certificate, marriage certificate, pcc and medical report. i told her to accept the proof of relationship as well as the affidavit of support but she said that she is supposed to accept only what she has taken. i again requested her to take the form 134 but she would not. she said that i should carry it for the interview.

will it affect my visa if she didnt accept the form 134 and proof of relationship at vfs. i have all my things ready. do you think i should resubmit it or should i just take the rest of the papers to the interview which is at mumbai consulate.

we had sent a letter requesting the consulate to allow my husband to join me for the interview but they said that it would not be possible. what a way to celebrate my birthday.

  14. I have the older version of form 134 (2007) duly signed and notorized by the official in usa. This was prepared by my lawyer. The DOS states that older versions are acceptable.

I dint want any hassles for the interview and therefore insisted that my husband make the new version of form 134 ( made in oct 2008) but when it reached me today I noticed that it was not notorized as there was no place for notorization. Is that what everyone is facing. I am really worried abt what I should do. Is the new version correct without notorization. Or should I submit the older version.

Someone please answer I am really worried coz I have to submit my papers at vfs on Monday.
