if u r not done with ur medical examination .. pls get ur vaciinations done before u reach the docs.. coz its gonna cost you thr

take some wedding and important photographs for proof in hand .. i mean u cant pass the album through the gap they got to give in and take papers from them.. or else get a thin felxible albums containin 10 pages or so .. set the papers clipped together like ur phone ,hotel bills, letters etc .. ur hubbys tax papers, bank statement papers etc together ..make into few sets so its easy when they ask you .. dont use thick files same again u cant pass it to them as one bundle ...

well .. its up to u to take a risk .. while sendin it to NVC it would be fine .. but during interview u will have to submit pcc from passport office and district offficer ..

its matter of payin 3000 Rs to District office instead of delayin ur visa proces ..

i got thro my CR1 interview from chennai with a bule slip to sumbit an updated version of PCC from Passport office even though i had PCC from district police taken last month .. while i submitted for DS-230 to NVC they never mentioned any problem with the PCC from passport office which was taken during the 130 submission.. and i got my interview date within a very short notice i didnt have time to apply for a new PCC from Passport office .

now i'm workin on my PCC for my visa to be stamped on my passsport ..

so why dont you just get it ... it takes only 3 days to get approved .. so u dont have to worry later with ur visa process being delayed

PCC from district office and passport office is required if u cross 6 months of passport.. when was the passport issued.. if ur DS-230 gets approved ..thr r chances ur visa interview be ard within 2 months ..

my visa is kept on hold after interview b'coz the passport PCC is 10 months from passport office and PCC taken last month from dictrict police office and they asked to submit the updated one to start off the visa process..

it takes only 3 days from district policeoffice .. to be on safer side u can still submit it ..

DHL does not operate on weekends as far as i know .. you can always call DHL office for further info .. DHL.com can help you out

i got a interview on 29th sept for K3 and CR1 for OCT !5th

Email to the consulate with a request to email u the instructions and ur interview letter ..through postal u will never receive it ... coz i had the same experience

u got to sumbit the documents in VFS 10 days before ... u can call VFS office or consulate for teh information and tell them ur case number .. goodluck

I got K3 interview on 29th sept and CR1 on 15th oct in chennai US consulate,India with 2 different CASE NUMBER..

I already submitted docments in VFS office for K3 interview last week .. but recieved the letter for interview for CR1 from NVC after i submited the documents in VFS office ..

when i called up chennai US consulate they told me " the CR1 interview nor my old case no is not updated in their system yet.. only K3 interview with new case number is showing "

Please help me out here ... which one is better?? i heard CR1 is better off ..

IF i opt for CR1 interview will it a take longer time to reach US after interview ??

i got my interview reschedule on sept 30th 2008 in Chennai US consulate, India .. i just recieved a email with my date and time .. no instructions or packet4 recieved ..

My good news came in a bad package ...

was waiting all this while to hear my interview date .. i finally heard it today " its on sept 12th 2008 " but i didnt recieve an interview Letter still ...and its just 4 days away .. All i can do is reschedule my date and wait again ..

Been callin up local US consulate once we got the notice stating my case has been fwded from US to india .. Everytime the consulate enquiry phone answer my calls and gives me the information - sorry ur case number is not registered in the system yet ..call up after a week.. been listenin to it for almost 2 months.. Today a lady answered me and told me the same stuff so i requested her check it once more askin wht is the reason for long delay when i already got a notice to report in US by November 2008?? So she decided to check using my name ... my Case Number has compeletly changed after it reached from US to India .. i got a interview in 4 days as well as my packet4 is undelivered due to a mistake in my address.. & my new case number contains all the details of myself and my hubby ..

I have used my old case number to track down till the case got fwded from US .. infact i can still call up in NVC with my old number and get the information of the case i have filed .. Again i have recieved notice letters from NVC to my home address all this while .. how can they go wrong this time ??

Whts happening ?? how can they just change CAse number without any notice ..

u have to add ur hubby's surname ... i have changed my surname and got my passport changed from bangalore in 3 days.. u have to change ur passport and u can get it in 3 days if u go in person..

Get an affidavit for it from the lawyer of change of name.. and also got to publish cahnge of name in local newspaper .. it might cost u ard 50Rs ..

Ur passport with ur husbands surname to ur name is one of the most impt document for K3 visa

if exams r the prob . u can always produce ur old and new passport as document and request a letter to them beforehand ..

if every paper goes well .. u wont have any delay with visa process .. so its better u get it changed

from my experience , no point in lookin out for emails as notification .. pls do not wait for emails from service centre.. they only update u 1st few times.. Its better to keep urself updated always by callin up the consulate..

You have to file only I-130 first ... after u recieve the NOA1 u got to file in the I-129F..

Assembling the I-130 Package: Checklist

Forms and Documents (follow these assembly instructions. All supporting documents must be in English or be translated as noted here.):

1. Payment as required by USCIS. Use a check so you can track the payment.

2. Form I-130, Petition for Alien Relative (see example form)

3. Copy of the Birth certificate for the US Citizen (front and back) or a copy of ALL pages of the US Citizen's passport. This is used to establish citizenship. You may use a copy of your naturalization certificate or certificate of citizenship issued by USCIS.

4. A copy of your marriage certificate (If not in English then again get a translation)

7. G-325A (all four pages) filled out by the US Citizen signed and dated

4. Birth certificate(s) of child(ren) born to you, thepetitioner, and your spouse together; or

Affidavits sworn to or affirmed by third parties havingpersonal knowledge of the bona fides of the maritalrelationship (Each affidavit must contain the full nameand address, date and place of birth of the person makingthe affidavit, his or her relationship to the petitioner ofbeneficiary, if any, and complete information and detailsexplaining how the person acquired his or herknowledge of your marriage); or

Best way to track ur case is to call up the visa centre u have filed after u recieve ur case no.. u can check on USCIS website ... but USCIS site is not at all reliable..it will show only few updates in the beginning ..

Dont worry U will get updated through mail or post by the consulate every step u go fwd with the case... Thr will be an option of agent after ur case has started ... then the letters will be posted depending on the agent chosen by You or your wife?? agent can be you .. ur lawyer or ?? u will get rest of the information on the letter

which is the US consulate centre in india your case is gonna be fwded ?? ONCe the case gets fwded to india u have to start callin the US consulate in india..

You got to print out reach paper coz it has marking page 1..2..3..4 .. 5 is just instruction .you can ignore 5th page. Each 4 paper goes to different place or office .. so you got fill in each paper and print it out ..
