  1. hi,

i got the iin number and i want to pay the billls online.

1] when is the best time to pay online, i dont want to rely on AVC because its lagging behind.

can i ask any live representative at nvc and ask them whether my bills are generated or not.

2] we are using a lawyer so we dont have to send the ds3032 form,

we will be directly getting both the i864 bill and iv fee bill to the lawyer.

are both of them generated at the same time for us or do they first generate the i 864 bill and then generate the iv fee bill.

any answers will be greatly helpful.

    thank you,

  2. first of all she cannot apply in canada as only permanent residents of canada can apply here or someone having legal status like a work permit or student permit can apply here in canada for cr1 visa.

2] she needs police clearances from countries where she stayed 6 months and above after she was 16 years old , so i think she will not need one as she cannot stay beyond the 6 months.

but in some cases eventhough you leave within 6 months and coem back again within a short period then the accumulated time will become 6 months or more and i will not be worried as she is female and they let it go in mostcases if visa applicant is female , but there is always a slight chance.

just try continuing with tthe peocess in india as it is faster and also trying to change consulates is not possible as the nvc will decide and not you.

i hope this answers someof your questions.

  3. Must be nice that you guys at least have your information at the NVC.

My K3 visa was approved back in April 2008. We have been emailing the NVC repeatedly over the last 5 months trying to get some confirmation from them that we are in the process of being... er... processed. The first time back in May 2008 we emailed and there was no record of my information. Again in June. Both times we contacted the USCIS to confirm that the paperwork as sent. Emailed again the end of July. Still no paperwork. Once again, another email at the beginning of August. No paperwork. Called USCIS about paperwork again asking to talk to a manager type. Manager gets on the phone says there should be nothing wrong and he'll send it again should take 30 days. Received an email today and they still don't have any record of my paperwork.

I no longer know what to do and neither does my wife. Was informed last time that if this doesn't work that we would have to pay a 400$ reprocessing fee or something like that and that's ridiculous because we never made any mistakes it's the USCIS or the NVC that is making them.

Any help for this would be appreciated.

    hi,

i think iam in the same situation like you,

i called them after my case for i130 was approved on 5th sept 08.

i caled them on 10th sept and they said that they have received the case and it is waiting to get into the system.

and i called again today set 15th hoping to get the visa number and they are saying that there is no information onmy file in their system.

i think this is the stage where they do the administrative processing and name check for the beneficiary before they issue the visa.

and they will not generate the visa nukmber until the administrative processing and name check is cleared.

so yours might me the similar situation like me.

i know for that most of the cases they will do the admisnistrative processing after the ds230 is recieved by them.

but for some cases with very common names , they will do it at various stages i believe.

    goodluck for you

  4. hi,

my i 130 petition was approved on 5th of september.

when i called them on 9th and after giving them my uscis receipt number, they said that they received the petition but the visa number is not generated as it will take some time.

then when i called after 3 days on 12th and then on today, they are saying that it is not received yet,

there is nothing showing in their system when they put my uscis number.

guys what is this confusion all about.

why did they confirm that they have received the petition and then now they are saying that they are not seeing anything in the system.

    please help.

    thank you,

  5. We were a K-1. I paid for everything in the US. He paid for everything he had to have in Jamaica. When he came and we AOS, I paid it all cause he couldn't work yet. We just filed LOC and it's definately intermingled finances now.

Oh, ok. So, it is common. Almost everyone is paying the I-130/I-129 and then the spouse makes up for it later after he arrives. Ok, I get it. Well, I just feel my spouse does not appreciate it. I will make sure he pays everything on his side because I will not be able to compensate him for all of that I still owe a retainer fee to the lawyer.

    hi mahitab ,

i appreciate your curtesy towards your family (husband)

iam a guy and iam a muslim,

i want to tell you something this is not advice but just my take on the problem.

i think husband and wife should not be judging each other basing on one practise at a particular point of time in life.

it would be good if you let him come here and then observe whether he does something for you when he earns

something here as you always know that affording dollars in rupees will be a little hefty for someone in pakistan.

but i definitely buy your point, there are certainly some families or family members of the guy who will always want any financial burden to be beared by the girls family and the girl which is un islamic and haram.

but as you are married to him, you have to give him a chance and time and then try to make the point to him that he is unreasonable in his thinking towards you regarding financial matters.

he may be good though in some other issues like character and respect and love towards you, but i dont think any one can come to a conclusion in a relationship like marriage basing only on one point.

so, keep your cool and pray to God.

time will be solution for everything and difficult times bring in good times always.

    good luck for you.

    thank you.

  6. Just listened to it again.....

The NVC has reviewed your packet of forms and has found imformation missing or iincomplete. The NVC mailed a

letter on August 28, 2008 indicating which documentation is missing or incomplete. ......Please return this information to NVC in Portmouth NH.......

Funny thing is that the AVR had this information on it on Wednesday....but I cannot remember what it said about NVC mailing a letter........

Thanks, mine says exactly same thing.. except "send a letter on Aug. 29.."

But they only received 230 Aug.28th.. And when I spoke to the operator Aug.28 she could not even say what was it that they received, just saw some packet was received 28th.

Well, it's a mystery until Tuesday I guess. Can not think of anything that might be wrong. Maybe false rfe and waiting for 230 processing as some on VJ write, maybe some real rfe.

At least I think it's not 864, in which case avr says "missing or incomplete financial information"..

False RFE.. system was waiting for 230 to process.

Thanks AVR for stressful crappy long weekend :bonk:

But at least the news are good that it's not a real rfe.

my case has been received today and it is getting into the system,

i will get my case number tomorrow morning or by tonight. i will try to get the IIN numebr by calling a representative.

i want to ask you the step by step process of what to do next,

generally iam planning to pay the AOS fee and the IV fee online.

iam using a lawyer so i will save time with the DS3032.

i have only two steps to do.

    AOS FEE

    IV FEE.

is it possible to pay both the AOS fee and the IV fee at the same time, or do we have to wait till the i 864 is entered into the system and they generate the IV BILL.

iam a litlle confused about the general procedure here and also the right thing to do here.

and also if i pay the AOS FEE and the IV fee at the same time online and be able to print the bar code after i see payment status as paid online, can i send my ds230 at the same time as the i864.

i need your valueble advice ,iam really having lot of streess about it.

3] i assume that the i 129 petition will be forwarded quickly to the vancouver canada consulate and the interview wait time is abot 3 to 4 weeks but will they say that they have to compplete the administrative process before issuing the k3 visa or do they issue the visa as it is non immigrant visa and allow me to enter the states to file for adjustment of status because if they have to wait for the administrative processing at nvc then it is better to take the IR1 route as there will be additional 3 to 4 months wait for the interview at montreal ,

so please guys i need some good suggestions.

  12. hi,

i have filed for my 130 petition and waiting for approval at csc.

    i have two questions.

1] i have a visitors visa from before to us and i dont think that i have declared that i ahve my brother in usa who is a permanent resident because there is a chance that theywill think i would stay back in usa with visitors visa.

2] my 130 petition is through my wife who is a us citizen and i have to once gain fill up the ds 156 aplication when i go for my visa for IR1 visa.

in this form there is another column which asks about brothers and sisters present in usa .

so do you guys think that it will be a problem if i say now that i have my own brothers there in usa.

or should i simply stickon to what i said earlier.

    thank you for the responses.

  13. hi

    i got NOA-1,S for both i 130 and i 129 petitions.

i do not have a priority date mentioned on them.( is it quite usual to not have priority date mentioned on both NOA1,S)

    i have two questions.

1] can i file an expedite for the application for extreme hardship as my wife has to live along with our baby alone in u.sa as we are having tough time to find a baby sitter .

2] whats the process to file an expedite.

do we just call the uscis directly and make a request or

do we have to contact our senator or congress person.

i think it is a little too early for me to think about expedite because its been a month since we received our NO1s and we filed our 130 on july 25th 2008, i just want to be prepared ahead in case we need to file one.

    please help me with replies.

    thank you.

    rahi

  14. hi,

i would like to elaborate on the proof of bonafide marriage for your application.

you can send them all the boarding passes or airline tickets or any stamps on your passport

along with any hotel bills and bookings and photos dated with time and brief description about each picture written on the back .

cover letter stating about how you met and how you married briefing the period between your first meeting to nmarriage and etc.

any other credit card receipts or purchases you both have made together.

these i feel are important because they will provide proof about your story

    rest everything l;ooks good,

    goodluck for you.

    rahi

  15. hi stacy ,

    thank you for your reply,

i live in vancouver and iam applying for the CR1 / k3 visa as my spouse is a us national.

iam currently a permanent resident of canada.

i wanted to ask you how the vancouver consulate was during your k3 experience.

    any advice is greatly appreciated.

i have opted the vancouver consulate for the k3 and montreal consulate for the CR1 visa.

    thank you.

  16. hi,

i have filed for my i 130 petition and i 129 petition at california service center in july 2008.

iam waiting for my NOA2 for both petiitons.

then i will apply for the k3 visa at avancouver OR

    IR1 visa at montreal consulate.

    whichever gets approved first.

    1) I want to know if they do administrative processing if i take the k3 route ( because then it will take the same time as IR1 VISA, and it is better to follow IR1 route as both will take the same time) as it is still a non immigrant visa and i have yet to file my adjustment of status

    2) when we go to the consulate for the IR1 VISA OR K3 VISA. do the embassy initiate the administrative processing / fbi name check after the interview. OR will those be going on at the uscis and for the time being the uscis has forwarded the petition to the consulate until they get the clearances.

IAM ASKING THIS BECAUSE I AHEV A VERY COMMON LAST NAME AS MIDDLE EASTERN PEOPLE AND DEFINITELY MY NAME WILL HAVE A FALSE HIT.

any suggestions and info. will be greatly helpful to me and appreciated.

    thank you.

    rahi.

  17. K3 filers,
