  1. Congratulations to everyone who has heard something positive.

For those others with no news, hang in there.

After 99 days from filing, and one expedite request I have finally received my first email saying that my EAD card production has been ordered :) yippee

I phoned 5 days ago to expedite it, they said i would hear something in 5 days and sure enough I get an email saying its been ordered :) I am so happy and relieved.

  2. CONGRATULATIONS to everyone who has received something. I hope things work out great for all of you.

Finally a very slight bit of good news.........

I managed to get through to USCIS today (second attempt) and spoke to the most helpful person ever at USCIS. I explained my wait for the EAD and that i had a job offer waiting, she put in an expedite request for me saying severe financial loss and has a job offer and said I should hear something back in the next 5 days. She said she couldn't put in a service request until tomorrow because my case wasn't over 30 days outside normal processing times until tomorrow. Which is a little strange because the 90days was up last sunday, but at least I got an expedite request in :)

Just for comedy value - my first attempt to contact USCIS was completely un-helpful! The woman said i would need to wait an additional 80 days until I could file a service request as they are currently only processing applications from January 26th 2008! I said the website stated the 16th April for EAD's. she said the website was wrong I would have to wait until October! Brilliant lol. I explained that the website says if its outside 90 days for EAD's then to contact them immediately, she said the website is wrong and needs updating :) I played with her for ages and she wouldn't budge on her stance, at least it makes me laugh now :)

  3. Congrats Omizo_Tusha!!! :D

As for me, I'm on day 90th since I sent my application and 83rd since my NOAs and still no sign of EAD approval.

Hang in there ellla. Ive found the systems to be down for the last 2 days, but im sure we will all here something good soon.

I have found out something very interesting though from my constant pestering phone calls to USCIS....... out of the 4 times I have phoned in the last 2 days, 3 of the people have all said that once it has passed 75 days since your application was received, they can put in a service request for it! Not sure if people already knew this but I thought it had to be past 90 days. - Sorry if thats old news :)

  4. Systems have been down all day so had no luck over the phone, going to try again tomorrow. :(

The last person I spoke to at USCIS seemed to think that I could apply for an expedited process after 31 days of application! I asked her if she was sure she meant 31 days and not 90 days, she read her notes (lol) and said 'I mean 31 days after the processing time'. That means you have to wait 121 days from date of application before you can apply for expedited processing. I told her on the website that if an EAD application has been over 90 days I would need to call in, I told her I think that you only wait 120 days if its a different type of application - as per what the website says. It went silent for ages (she was reading her notes) then she said 'oh'. I said i would call back tomoz when the system was up and running! lol

  5. Quick update of my horrible USCIS adventure.........

For those that haven't read my previous posts....AOS, AP and EAD filed for in April.

    USCIS receive date = 16th April 2008

    USCIS notice date = 21st April 2008

    Biometrics = 8th May 2008

So my 90 days from notice date was up 2 days ago. I went for an Infopass this morning hoping they would help (im desperate for my EAD, im not that bothered about the rest right now)

I explain my EAD was filed for over 90 days ago, he brings up my info on screen and says i filed on 16th April (the receive date!!!), all he can do is send an email to them to expedite the process - this can take another 30 days he says :( I ask if it can go faster - no. I explain to him there are many cases that applied after me and receive their EAD's last month, I ask how this is possible if they process in order they receive. He tells me each case is different and mine is only 1 week late. I tell him its one week late if it comes today, if it takes another 30 days they it will be 5 weeks late! He did not understand this at all, he could hardly speak English and our conversation went on for ages. Eventually I gave up and asked if he could send the email straight away as I have a job offer waiting and it is very important that I have my EAD. DON'T WASTE TIME WITH INFOPASS.

I get home and decide to phone USCIS help line, unfortunately their systems are down and they say to call back in a couple of hours! So I ask a couple of general questions.......

Q1) When your systems come back up, what can you do for my case as it is outside of normal processing times?

A1) We can get someone to pull the case and look at it to see what is happening with it.

Q2) Will they be able to process it then as I am desperate for this EAD and have waited longer than 90 days?

A2) They will be able to find out what needs doing to complete it.

Q3) How long does this take?

A3) 45 days!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (WHAT?! the last bloke said 30 days - I didnt say that on the phone)

Q4) 45 days....Really. Is that an expedited process? Its just I've waited more than 90 days and I was hoping it may be able to be done quicker as its a desperate situation now.

A5) Once your case has been pending for more than 75 days we can expedite it which takes up to 45 extra days.

    WHAT..........75 DAYS...........WHAT!!!!!!!!!

Thats right she said after 75 days!!! NOT 90 days, but 75. Where did this random number come from??? LMAO unbelievable.

I did note though that 75 + 45 = 90 + 30, so maybe 120 days is the actual date u can expect to receive your EAD.

I will phone back in a couple of hours like suggested and hope their systems are up. Maybe I will get a decent answer one day.

  6. I thought I would share this so that anyone who is in the same situation is aware....

My wife's biometrics was on May 06, and up until June 13 or so we did not hear anything about EAD. I was starting to wonder. But then it arrived that day in the mail. The date on it was June 09, and it was posted on June 10. So if you are waiting for EAD and have not heard anything, it might be that it is taking a little while longer. I still think one month from the biometrics is a safe bet.

Also, in case you made a mistake like I did....when we put together her AOS packet, I forgot to include separate copies and photos for the EAD. So I sent a second packet with cover letter explaining this. That could have been a mistake, because USCIS then issued another case no. for the EAD, as well as a biometrics that was scheduled for later in the month. I took both notices and the appointment letters to the earlier biometrics appt, and they used the one with the later case no, but did her biometrics for it. When we had not received the EAD by 30 days after, I started to wonder if that was the reason. But, everythign worked out.

Congrats on the approval, the time it took for yours is similar to most April filers.

WOW congratulations. I wish i was as lucky as you :( I had my biometrics on 8th May, I filed on 21st April. I haven't heard anything and its July 21st! Wheres my application gone lol

  7. All the best with your Infopass tomorrow.

So i went to the Infopass page to change my Infopass appointment, and it is now telling me "there is no appointment information for your area"

#######? Why would it say that?

    Any ideas?

Have you tried the website again to make sure it wasn't just a glitch at the time? Maybe try looking for a number to call (not that that will probably help :))

    Otherwise I don't know, sorry.

Day 91 today and nothing in the post, website still says 'received and pending' - i've decided to ignore the website as it probably only gets updated once a month. Infopass tomorrow morning, the job offer wants me to start on 28th July! It's looking slim that I will be starting then :( Looks like more financial worries, thanks USCIS!

  8. Well, supposedly you are supposed to recieve an email from CRIS however some people don't won't know till it shows in the mail. It really just depends.

If I were you I would make an INFOPASS pronto to put in a service request.

    Hope it helps.

Thanks Steph, I have an Infopass appointment scheduled for Tuesday morning. And if by some miracle my EAD comes Monday I will cancel the appointment.

I just find it hard to understand why I haven't heard anything! I have this bad feeling that my application is lost and I will have to re-apply or summit.

I'll keep everyone updated and can only hope in the next couple of days something positive happens with this EAD.

  9. Day 90............................NOTHING.

Case status online still says.......'Case Received and Pending'

Still haven't heard any updates whatsoever, is the USCIS still in business?!?!? I now have a job offer which is dependent upon me showing my EAD!

Question.... It seems as though there are different rules for everyone with the USCIS, BUT does everyone receive notices that their EAD has been approved? Or is there cases where the EAD card will just show up without having the 'EAD approved' and 'card ordered' notice? I can't afford to wait any longer :(

  10. Thanks K&W! At least I know that there are many more peolple waiting for EAD and I'm not the only one (well, together with Steph ;)))

I applied for EAD, AP and AOS back in April. Received date - 16th April, Notice Date - 21st April. Had my Biometrics on May 8th. Haven't heard a single whisper of anything from anyone since then! The 90 day period is up tomorrow (90days from Notice Date). I have booked an Infopass appointment for Tuesday morning in hope that I may be able to see my EAD sometime very soon :(

The wait is a killer. They say they process the applications in order they are received, yet theres people's timelines that I read that applied after me and already have theirs :(

Congrats to everyone that already has theirs though, I bet it was a huge weight off your shoulders when it finally came :)
