  1. I believe this should be move in "removing of conditions"...but as what i was reading in here..it doesnt matter anymore..since you receive your NOA and biometrics letter and i believe but im not sure..i guess the NOA is also your extension letter which is good for 1 year..i also read people in here who make an infopass and have their pasport stamp with 1-551 for an extension or something..and it depends on what service center did you apply for removing of conditions..mostly CSC works faster like within 3 months...the rest are a bit longer...

To talk to a live person in USCIS customer service...dial the number then when you hear the automated voice press 123 right away..good luck to you

  3. okay, so i am seriously confused here. i thought that people with case transfers to csc were supposed to get their greencards FASTER than those with interviews...am i missing something here? misinterpreting? i dont get it. congrats to all of those who have recieved theirs, but i find it odd that not one person with a csc transfer has been approved yet.

actually thats what ive seen as a trend too then...but seems like people who have interview date are the ones who got approved faster now..looks like CSC is working slower nowadays...

  4. Hi sherry hopefully you'll soon find the job that you like. I got here march 2008, i passed my AOS last july 2008 had my green card approved last december 10, 2008.I have less than a year of experience as Rn in the philippines and so i know that i will have a hard time looking for a job here in the US so i consider myself as an entry-level nurse. Thankfully i was accepted last november 18, 2008 at a governemnt hospital and will start on the 16. SO My first job as a RN will be at LAC+USC area of MICU. This is a great opportunity for me as it is a level 1 trauma hospital. But the catch is i have to travel since we are here at rancho santa margarita now. :-( But its the best job offer for me now. It will be great for my resume since im looking forward for my masters sometime soon at USC too. Good luck to all of us:-) And just keep on reaching for your goal. God bless :star:

  5. hey guys, I got approved!

We got interviewed separately (all the couples were too, I think it's how they do it in our local office) but it was pretty easy, he asked how we met, my name( and i said my maiden name duh lol), then he asked about our house (color, how many bedrooms and bathrooms, if it had a garage and if it was detached or attached) and where my husband works, what time, what he does and if he likes it, that was it.

He asked what I had with me ( an album, a scrapbook and a big folder) he asked to see the pictures and went really fast through them, didn't even see page after page then he asked about the papers, I said what I had and he said that's fine and didn't ask to see anything, ANYTHING AT ALL, dang it, took me forever to get all those papers together lol

then he called my husband, asked the same things and said I was approved, I didn't get to talk to him again and that was it, he said the green card would be here in 30-45 days, it was piece of cake, guys, my hubby messed up the color of the house hahahaa and I messed up my name, but we still got approved and didn't even have to show any papers, just be calm and everything will be fine.

CONGRATS :dance: HAPPY FOR YOU:dance:

  6. Correct...the answer is "allowed to work" is what needs to be checked on the application for SS. K-1 Visa has the authorization to work, but "you" do not have a permit to work, but that does not mean you're not "allowed to work".

    Hi All,

Should an applicant who came to the US on a K-1 visa and does not yet have work authorization mark "legal alien allowed to work" or "legal alien not allowed to work" in the citizenship section on the Social Security card application form?

    Thanks,

    Jillian

I believeit would be " legal alian not allowed to work" since he/she doesnt have the work permit yet...

but could get work permit if they applied for it (category A6 on I-765 application)... because of that, the answer is "allowed to work".

oh i see :star: now i know :star:

  7. Hi All,

Should an applicant who came to the US on a K-1 visa and does not yet have work authorization mark "legal alien allowed to work" or "legal alien not allowed to work" in the citizenship section on the Social Security card application form?

I believeit would be " legal alian not allowed to work" since he/she doesnt have the work permit yet...not sure..

  8. We filed in mid July. At some point we received a notice that the case had been transferred to California, and that's the last word we've heard from USCIS since August. My EAD was apparently lost in the mail because I never received it despite receiving every other notice sent. They refused to send another one and suggested I apply again with the fee. So I've been out of work since last March, going through my savings, waiting for this AOS to go through. And nothing... it's just said the same thing since September:

Application Type: I485, APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR TO ADJUST STATUS

Current Status: This case is now pending at the office to which it was transferred.

The I485 APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR TO ADJUST STATUS was transferred and is now pending standard processing at a USCIS office. You will be notified by mail when a decision is made, or if the office needs something from you. If you move while this case is pending, please use our Change of Address online tool to update your case with your new address. We process cases in the order we receive them. You can use our processing dates to estimate when this case will be done, counting from when USCIS received it. Follow the link below to check processing dates. You can also receive automatic e-mail updates as we process your case. To receive e-mail updates, follow the link below to register.

In the case portfolio it says last updated September 23rd, but nowhere does it even indicate it's in California. We are totally in the dark and running low on money. My wife lost her job just before Christmas so her doctor boss could keep his BMW.

    :(

Sorry to hear that....there are july filers who were transferred to CSC that have not received any update yet...hang in there..Goodluck to you...

  9. what if I decide to use my married name. does it mean I have to change my passport too?

I have a feeling it is going to be a pain if I go through this now, before even sending the paperwork.

can I change my last name after? once I have the green card in hand?

I believe it will be harder to have your name change after you receive the Green card..since you are here and almost all of your transaction will be based on your GC. SO starting up a state id, drivers license, SSN, opening a bank account, work , etc. THe passport for now is not that big of a deal..since if you decided to go home you can just bring your GC with your married name on it and your marriage certificate as what alot of people are doing. And they dont have a problem with it.

    It is still your choice...

  10. FINALLY!!! Received Green card today! So the conclusion is USPS don't forward government mails. I saw the forwarding address sticker with our new address and at the bottom it says RETURN TO SENDER. Anyways thank GOd I can truly say the AOS part is truly over now.. Nowtime to update SSn and state id and dl. Good luck to those who are still waiting !! Mellusine hopefully you'll hear fromthem soon and to others who are still waiting for an update

    Yippee...phew... :dance::thumbs: I'm glad for you...now exhale and enjoy...

Weeeee :dance: Now off to work :star:
