  1. didnt bother calling NVC for the number...we just waited for them to tell us....

dan got the letter with the number on and also a load of barcodes.

but, just as an after thought...the I-130 was sent to NVC on 12th Jan, so it took this long for them to post out this letter with the LDN number and barcodes.

while my hubby was over here visiting....he brought the papers he needed, i didnt know if i needed the originals, i have them, i am sending them back to him tomorrow.

you may be wondering...why arnt we rushing along with this, well...its all down to timeing really...i have no holidays due from work at the moment, i just got my police certificate back the other day, and money is short on both sides of the pond.

but, (not wanting to rub it in...) its a step closer and i do think we are still ahead of a lot of july and september filers...?

good luck and speediness to everyone.

  2. i just checked the USCIS website for no particular reason, just to see if anything with our status with them had changed...i wasnt really expecting any change but...this was on it -

On January 12, 2011, we mailed you a notice that we have approved this I130 IMMIGRANT PETITION FOR RELATIVE, FIANCE(E), OR ORPHAN. Please follow any instructions on the notice. If you move before you receive the notice, call customer service at 1-800-375-5283.

For approved applications/petitions, post-decision activity may include USCIS sending notification of the approved application/petition to the National Visa Center or the Department of State. For denied applications/petitions, post-decision activity may include the processing of an appeal and/or motions to reopen or reconsider and revocations.

we got the NOA2 hard copy on 10th Jan, hubby spoke to them on the 11th Jan, im not sure if this is meaning 'a replacement' NOA2 which is coming, or the one we already have and they have just updated the status online...??

guess we will find out in a few days....or when my hubby returns to USA in just over a week.

  3. UPDATE

my hubby called USCIS (CSC) today, spoke to a lady who gave him reference numbers and her id number also, i was a bit dubious at first, until he said he got the reference and id numbers as she was the first human he spoke to, she told him it is a big mistake on our NOA2 and that, so long as i was not in the USA at the time of filing the I130 it will be ok, we dont need to fill out no more forms at this point, she has requested the package be expedited to NVC and that if we do not hear anything by phone or email by the time my hubby returns from his UK jaunt...he is to call NVC and give the reference number she gave him...if no joy there, he is to call USCIS (CSC) and request to speak to her, (hence her id)

the expidite was explained as (not word for word) - rather than the paperwork sitting on a USCIS persons desk for 30 days it will move in less than 5 days onto NVC. but we must be absolutely certain that i was not in the USA at the time of filing...erm...i was driving my bus round Manchester England...not Manchester New Jersey!! lol

    so...we are still hopeful...

  4. noa2edit.jpg

    hopefully this is readable?

i am totally confused as to why they think i would be in the USA after they RFE'd me for my address on the first i-130 submitted, even the letter we sent in saying how we ended up in this mess...

looks like its just going to keep on piling up the mess until something bursts!!:(

only a few hours ago i was posting in january NVC thread,

i spoke to my hubby for a short while, he said we had the NOA2 hard copy, so i posted here, then a few hours later he has read the notice with his proper glasses on and got straight onto the phone to nvc and uscis, spoke to someone other than the person who answers the phone who told them we are to file the I-824 which costs another $400 + for something that uscis do anyway?

we are so confused now :help:

  5. awesome news huge congrats Truebrit, hopefully NVC will be plain sailing, I didnt realise I need certified copies of everything so having to get copies of police certificates arghhh

    hmm...

ididnt realise that neither...ive just sent off for mine, lol...

im just going to make a copy of it when it comes back and give them the original...it all goes in the secret envelope anyways (i think)

ill keep the copy, if they then ask for yet another one...ill ask the ARCO for another...and pay a fiver then...if it comes to it...

    im not panicking...lol

  6. I can see why, dogs, bears, cats, snakes, fish - all very similar!!

Thats what they did with me too - was it the rip off line? I had really high hopes of being excused the need for a waiver due to compassionate grounds. But as the CO at the embassy stated, and laurel Scott told me, its acually illegal for the interviewing CO to excuse an inadmissabillity such as an overstay. Im not trying to rain on your parade, of course, it'd be fantastic if you dont need one. I was hopeful on the day of my interview but took my waiver down with me anyway. Im glad I did cos I was able to file it right after the interview and get it expedited. It took 3 weeks to get an approval then, but they give you a quote that waivers are taking around 6+ months to adjudicate.

if I could offer any advice to you it would be to start preparing the waiver now. The reason being they can take so long, even longer than an i-130 to adjudicate. Then, if you are told you need a waiver, yuo can take it to the next window and submit it right away. If you dont need it, you can walk out of the embassy with your approval note, and dump your waiver packet in the bin if you like - but at least you're prepared. If you have all the time in the world and patience to wait, I applaud that - cos I found it pretty rough. Being denied at the interview is so demoralising, I found. The only saving grace for me was the fact that I was able to get the waiver in on the day.

I say this because a friend of mine on here was denied his CR1 at the interview a few weeks ago, not for an overstay mind, a medical issue, and he hasnt even filed the waiver yet. Putting it together takes weeks if you do it 'properly'. It reminded me of the old school projects we were given. Which I hated, but I knew we had to do a good job on this as the stakes are so high.

If you need any help just give me a shout.

    Good luck though

    cheers for that Rich...

i know i have your email somewhere, but i get so many (mostly spam...lol) its lost in the box, tried searching...but...if you have mine handy would you pop a message to me, just to bump you up to the top...ive a few questions id like to pick your brains, if you have a moment...please...

  7. not sure if i need a waiver, hoping not...hoping the letter which was sent says it all and we get a sympathetic ear - CAN HOPE!!

deal with it one step at a time...

i contacted the US embassy and explained everything to them and they just said to file the I-130 so we did...lets see how they treat us.

my dog, yes, god that was a tough thing in 2007, it was horrendous getting her sorted...thicko DEFRA thought she was a snake!!

  8. lol

im currently trying to find some photos of dan, for his bus pass next week, so he dont get fined for coming to work with me on the saturday...nightmare...

moved 4 times since ive been back in the uk and i have my mother with me now (who opened the secret brown envelope for the K1 believe it or not!!) i cant find anything...she hasnt moved anything - that, she is adamant on...i just think she doesnt want me to go...again!!

looking for the photos though, has churned up a few missing items, like my birth certificate and old passport (with K1 visa in ) so all is not lost...oh, and a wage slip ive been missing...lmao

ive also got to get the police certificate sent off this week (asap)...money is short...

we arnt in no real rush, not wanting to beat the 11 day record anyways...lol plus...ive still to sort my dog...this week also, she just needs injections...while we are on the subject...lmao

anyways....hope them couriers havent or dont get lost with your passport...

good luck mate...im not far behind you -:whistle:

  9. So, my fiance's passport has to be renewed. And him being a big guy(6'8" and 300 lbs), cannot fit into those little photo booths in town normally.

Anyone know of a good photo service in his area? He lives in Wakefield if that helps any.

    thanks for the help. :3

a store like klicks will take the proper sized photos, i looked on their site the closest to him is barnsley but i am sure there are 'similar' stores, just cant think of their names...the types which deal in cameras and photo frames on the high street, they will take the photos in the store, no booth...just a pull down screen for him to stand in front of...im sure he will know the type.

he will have to tell them what size photos he needs...not sure if the US size needed is different to UK standard passport size...

    hope this helps.

  10. hello,

just want to know if anyone knows if i would need any vaccinations, besides 'mad cow'.

in 2007 i had K1 medical at knightsbrigde, london. i had all my vaccinations carried out by my own doctor just prior to the medical and i took the letter from my doctor with me to my medical, i was given a form by the american doctor, which says i had all the injections needed, i still have this form (and the xray).

i know i still have to have a medical, im not trying to get out of it, i just dont want any more injections...but, do i need any? are the ones i had in 2007 still ok? or would i need 'boosters'

    i hate needles.

    any ideas??

  11. As January 3rd I got approved!!! No touches, no updates, just a simple call to the USCIS officer. Thank you all for the support and all the help you have given me, this is a tough journey but have patience! I know all of you will get through it, because we all deserve it!

    ALSO,

he asked me to send my fiance a I-864 for affidavit of support, i thought you send those when you do your AOS?? I am so confused because I thought you send in the I-134?

    Help please!!

    congrats,

    me too!

  12. thanks everyone...

i cant believe it and after my rant on here the other day too!!

today has been a particularly bad day because it is my dads birthday, he would have been 71 this year.:(

i was at work, and i sent my hubby a random text telling him i loved him and a few mins later i called him, he asked if the text was a reply to his text...i never got his text...(yet) i told him no, it was just random, then he told me what he got, he forwarded it to my email so i logged in and read it, checked the USCIS site and because i was at a bus stop (am a bus driver) i didnt read it all, just saw the blue dot and 'post desision activity' it wasnt until an hour later we both actually realised that it was an approval...

    (L)

we are so happy it is now this far and my hubby is coming to see me for a week on the 15th, for my birthday...

he is bringing papers and stuff with him and hopefully he will get the hard copy before long and i can book a medical for the end of that week also, so he at least will get to see london this time!

get that out of the way asap.

    lookin good

and good luck and speediness to everyone waiting whichever process they are in... :luv:
