no as this can be fixed with the proper amount of green and crispy US bucks
I am not very good at this... i just don't know when and how... and how much and who do i need to give it... Do I just go ahead and put it in the passport? or wait untiol they find an issue and then slap 100 dollars on the counter? I think they will not take when everybody else is standing around...
-
That $uck$. I have heard stories that passport control there can get extremely brazen, I had issues when I left in 2003 with K1 and then I told myself I would come back as a US citizen only.
Have you actually hear about people who had to miss the plane and stay in ukraine?
-
Because they used to only hassle people rather than stringently enforce .... Plus VIP was the less hassled workaround... but you paid a special fee (aka... bribe)
VIP fee is the fee that you pay and get receipt for... bribe -- is when you just pay...
and after you pay for vip, there is no guarantee, but when you paid a bribe... they know exactly what it is for and will do it!

Attention everyone! I have got a phone number for passport control people in Borispol airport in Kiev! person who knows the answer will be back in couple of hours! The truth is close!!!!
-
OK...if it's known then why book a flight before having the new name in the passport?
because there was always sporadic hassle only rather the de facto enforcement as well as a work around
ok. i have a higher veducation... but can you repeat it in human language????
-
Do not forget cash to bribe passport control in Borispol on your way back :-) I changed my name completely here in the US so I did not travel back to the Ukraine to avoid being harassed by money-hungry bloodsuckers. Now with the US passport they can kiss my bottom
I am glad you said something about this! This is very good point. Do you know how much by chance?
That's what i am going to do (change name when i get citizenship). But i bought the tickets and THEN found out about issue...

if I would have known earlier, i would not have bought tickets!!! I found out about this issue 2 days before departure... too late to chage or return tickets...

Kiev
Well all our experiences were at Odessa. My wife's cousin was given trouble at regular passport control one time. Each subsequent time they used VIP and no hassle. We plan to use VIP on our departure in two weeks when we come back.
wow! the price is $150 per person in VIP!!!!!

Well I know several people who have done for years it but I will say the last time was last summer..... What airport, Kiev or Odessa?
Kiev

Tickets need be in the name on your passport
What if mine on married name???
Then you will need to use your greencard as your ID to present to the airline and TSA. You will still need to bridge the name discrepancy between your greencard and your passport with your marriage certificate.
You made me feel better.... I was thinking about not going...
You are so sure in your answers... Do you really know many cases of people who travelled like this???
What scares me... I do know one person who actually was turned down because of this and is sitting in Ukraine now, trying to do name change in the passport...

oh! one more thing! I went online to read about VIP service... they present it as just more comfortable place to wait for plane, they do not say anything about handling your documents better...

My wife is there right now with the same situation. Her cousin has travelled in and out of Ukraine for 5 years with the same situation. It is called VIP departure service.
Is it like a special room in the airport where you pay money and get in it???
did your wife get stuck there or she is just still visiting???
Were tickets on married name or it is not important?
-
I did give you a possible solution but apparently with so many posts you can't find it...
You right, I cannot. it is hard to do that if somebody is moving your stuff around ... Can you repeat it, please?
-
[For example, your question has nothing to do with citizenship, removing conditions, K-1 visa or adjustment of status
I understand about multiple ones now... can i still have ONE?
You know, you just critiqued so far... but i have not seen any suggestions.
Where woulf you post it? I think people who are going through naturalization may have been through my situation and have more experience!
-
quadruple posting
That's what I was going to say...
What's wrong with several postings????? and why are you moving them???? Could have left at least one...
-
triple posting
Exactly!!! More chances to get the answer!
Any good suggestions about the problem?

As long as you have your GC you are OK. Be sure to take your marriage certificate with you.
That's what i have been hearing: some people thought marriage certificate will do, but it didn't work... Do you know anybody who actually went through and just marriage certificate worked?
