  1. hello all!! merry christmas a little late. for some reason I wasn't getting VJ email notifications. i missed you guys.

Hi everyone and happy christmas! Congrats to all of you for coming so far on this frustrating visa journey! We cannot wait for the same to come to us!

I hope you don't mind me cutting in here, I'm a July 09 Filer at VSC and at the moment we awaiting our interview date at the London Embassy. I just wondered if anyone with a bit more experience could answer my query... I have just had my medical in London a few days ago and was told my vaccination history isn't up to date and I will require Tetanus and MMR for AOS. Theres lots of talk on our forum about having to find a civil surgeon to complete your paperwork. But no-one really knows for sure. I plan to have my missed vaccinations carried out at my local doctors but was planning to just provide proof from my doctor that I've had them, in with the AOS package, not get a civil surgeoun to transfer the information to another form. I have heard that many people don't get an RFE if they go about it this way... How did you all get on with this issue? RFE or not?

Thanks to you all so much!!

We had the civil surgeon do it to avoid an RFE. We went to a local civil surgeon and it only cost $40.

  2. Congrats on the social security numbers and the card productions. As well as the little one on the way, Shannon and Nick!

We had our US reception this weekend and it went off without a hitch. I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving. Was it as much a cultural experience for your husbands/wives as it was for us? I swear, Sebastian could not eat enough stuffing!

Jeremy had a good time. We used to spend Thanksgiving together in France since I'd take lots of vacation time then but this year was his first with my whole family. His favorite was the sweet potatoes. We brought home lots of leftovers of that.

  3. hey all!!

Just a little note to brighten the holidays.... we're expecting our next little bundle of pure joy August 6th!!!! :)

We're not putting anything on facebook because I'm (shan) up for a promotion at work - and there are work 'friends' on facebook and we don't want our pregnancy to affect the chances.

we are SOOOOOOOOO excited!!!!!!!!! :) :) :) :)

wow!!! congrats! mums the word on facebook! august 6th is awfully close to my bday, august 12th :)

  4. Congrats on the co-sponsors, jobs and green cards :)

Jeremy received 2 contacts for jobs yesterday so I'm feeling pretty good. Not quite interviews but requests for more information on his background and tests of his IT knowledge so hoping for the best...

Fingers crossed for ya !!

He has an interview on Wednesday. Hoping for the best!!! :)

    Yep Good Luck!!

Oh we got our "Welcome to the United States" letter today !

    :)

  5. hey, just noticed you've added another transfer date to your timeline.....

    Where's it gone this time ??????? :wacko::wacko::wacko:

Hmmmm that was weird but anyway directed at CDNEH!!!

I think I might change that, because I really don't know what the heck is going on. We were transferred July 17th to CSC, and the last touch was July 30th, the day after the biometrics. There has been nada since.

Now on the 16th October I get this notice, and so did quite a few others of us in a similar situation ..and we are not sure if they have transferred it back again, or if it is still there and finally someone is blowing the dust off the stack. I love these late Friday night emails that leave you wondering ..wth...pending. Good grief, after three months it makes the wording on the transfer sound a bit daft..."We have transferred this case in order to speed up processing..."

Application Type: I485 , APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR TO ADJUST STATUS

Current Status: This case is now pending at the office to which it was transferred.

The I485 APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR TO ADJUST STATUS was transferred and is now being processed at a USCIS office. You will be notified by mail when a decision is made, or if the office needs something from you. If you move while this case is pending, please use our Change of Address online tool to update your case with your new address or call our customer service center at 1-800-375-5283.

EXACTLY what a waste of time we we're sent to CA to speed things up and there processing times are longer than Chicago?????

OOOOOOH I could rip a tissue!

Erin and Johny: Good to hear from you at long last, wondered where you had disappeared to! The whole job thing SUCKS right now GRRRRRRRRR!!!!

KOAKLAND: I seem to be struggling with crossing over my UK qualifications to there US equivalents and I'm applying for anything with benefits in my fields of "expertise" lol

Anyway hope everyone is keeping well and not stressing TOOOOOO much (hmmmm)

OH Rybear had his 9 month check up today and the DR said he was the size/weight/height of a 15 month old (hmmm maybe too much Mcdonalds when Shans at work????!!!!)))))

    stay safe!

SO some good news. Johny applied for a job yesterday, had a quick interview yesterday, and got hired yesterday afternoon! Anyways his job is full time, with some overtime. Pays 8.50/hr for the first month, 9/hr after that and then who knows from there. He has an education so hopefully he can move up in the buisness. I am just glad that he got a job, puts less pressure on me to work while I am finishing up school. Only 7 more months and I finally graduate. We still live with my father and probably will until I graduate but hopefully we will be able to save some money up to get a place as soon as summer rolls around again. So yay we are in buisness. Now only if we would get the greencard.

Yay!!!! That is really great! Congrats!! :)

  6. Wow I have not been on here in a LONGGGG time. So busy with full time school, work, job searching for johny and a very busy third grader...

Johny still doesnt have his greencard and has been transferred forever ago. It was finally "touched" today so hopefully the process will actually be moving again. Johny has applied for every job in the book and hasnt gotten a job yet. Pisses me off and the hospital has tons of jobs available and they havent even called him. There is a temp agency here that we are contacting so hopefully we get somewhere with that. We need money very bad right now. My school loans are runny out and im only working like 2 days a pay period because of school/clinical.

I hope everyone else is doing well...Just wanted to catch up.

:( Keep your head up. Something will come through. Jeremy had an interview 2 weeks aho but he didn't get that job. He had a phone interview today that went well but you never know until you sign on the dotted line. Just gotta keep at it. hopefully there will be some seasonal work available with the holidays coming...
