Hi! Here's the pinned topic on the I-693s... the end of the thread also has the links to the new forms.

    http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=101202

Basically all you need to do is fill in part 1, part 2 number 5 and part 5 of the I-693. Vaccinations is the focus.

When was your medical? Here's a link to the new info in regards to exams... Great link that explains this stuff pretty clearly... what's necessary in terms of vaccines and TB test requirement since the form has changed.

In order to answer your question, we'd need to know on what date you had your medical...

and about AOS, they said that applying for it before the 2nd year wedding anniversary would give me 2 years greencard but apply for it after 2 years would give me a 10 years greencard. my question is our 2nd year anniversary would be on february 2009 6 months from now, would that be ok to wait for it or i need to process AOS as soon as possible??

    thanks guys!

  4. im so confused i have ds3025,do i only need to go to the surgeon so i can hve the 693?is the surgeon still going to give me vaccines?how much it will cost me?thankyou

The Civil Surgeon can tell you if you need any other vaccinations. Bring your DS-3025 and/or any vaccinations records you have to the Civil Surgeon (or fax it, if they OK it).

I faxed a copy of David's record to the Civil Surgeon that did our transcription on 7/8, they called me back with what he needed (a second MMR shot). We then went to our family doctor and had tests done to see if he was immune and then had shots done as needed (see my signature).

You can also get shots done at local clinics, often for free, if you do not have a family doctor. However, the Civil Surgeon will need to tell you what shots you need, I'm fairly sure.

The following link was INVALUABLE to me to figure out what the heck was going on with the I-693. It looks like we DO indeed have to submit the I-693, part 1 (Information about you) and part 2, #5 (vaccination section) completed for K-1 visa holders. Please read Section 3, Frequently Asked Questions, #2 for clarification.

thankyuo for information yuo gave me.

  5. hello .we have a a question, what medical record do we need to include in my petition?thank you!!!

You must have a designated civil surgeon transfer the vaccination records from your DS 3025 to the I-693. He should give you a sealed envelope with the I-693 inside for you to submit with the I-485 and EAD applications.

Vaccination requirements have just recently changed. Hopefully the DCS you go to is aware of such.

thankyou. can we just go to the nearest civil surgeon in our house but its in other state?

  6. how we wished we found this site before, the attorney advised us to file k3, he said its quicker we didn't know many applications to fill up again after arrival here. :crying:thank you very much.

K-1 is work auth for the 90 days of their I-94, K-3 is NOT.

K-3 needs to either file for EAD and provide the EAD or Green-card in order to get SSN.

This is one of the reasons I point out to just do CR-1 instead of K-3, CR-1 gets Green-Card Stamp upon entry to the USA, and can get SSN shortly after.

Many on K-3 file for EAD first and pay the $340, and then file AOS close to 2nd wedding anniversary so that the resulting green-card is the 10 year one, this avoids having to file I-751 later to remove conditions. EAD costs about $100 less than removal of conditions later.

  7. thank you very much for the information.

For a K3 you need EAD or greencard before getting an SSN.

A K1 can apply for SSN without EAD.

Yep, this is true unfortunately. Here's what the VJ guide says:

    :: For K2, K3, K4 Visa Holders ::

As a holder of a K2, K3 or K4 visa you must first have an EAD from the USCIS. You will be required to

show this to the SSA agency to be eligible to receive a SSN.

To apply for a SSN you will need to go to your local SSA office and bring:

    1.

The SS-5 form you downloaded and filled out (they have some at the office if you forget).

    2.

Passport (with the K-2, K-3, or K-4 Visa in it)

    3.

    your valid I-94

    4.

another form of valid ID (as defined in the SS-5 instructions)

    5.

    A valid EAD

Only persons age 12 and older must apply in person. A derivitive visa beneficiary (K2 for example) may

elect to have their parent (the K1 for example) apply on their behalf (they will still need all the required

documents). The SSA will most likely need to verify the validity of the EAD and will make a copy to send to the USCIS as part of the SSN processing. Once they verify the EAD you will receive your SSN card in the mail.

You can check on the status of your SSN application and/or often get the SSN in advance by returning in person to the SSA office. If you need your SSN before it arrives in the mail you may ask them for an SSA-7028, Notice to Third Party of Social Security Number Assignments, to be sent to your employer or other interested third party once a SSN has been assigned. Your card, when you receive it, will be marked with the words "VALID FOR WORK ONLY WITH INS AUTHORIZATION" indicating to an employer that you must also have an unexpired EAD to be eligible to work.

  8. Do you have an Alien number? This number is a number that starts with a letter A. My wife who came here on a Fiancee visa was given a number at the port of entry. I am not sure if you would have been given one. But if you do not have one it is ok. You do not have to fill in that portion if it does not apply to you.

at the top corner of the g325-a there is file number A,does this mean i will put my alien number here?

i wasn't given during port of entry. but i have alien number written on the approval notice both for 130 and 129-f.
